Hi,  Hanson

I'll need you to help me with one detail that need to be fixed before we can place that EIB badge under your name .

Looking at the hovi tips on your helmet, I noticed that they look a little fine, more so than what appears on the screen, as you can see bellow in the reference images.

This is a CRL Level 2 requirements sir.

CRL L2: Correct Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh, with the rim of the mic and the inside white or painted white.

                                                                                                                                                             Reference Images

UjjeOPe.jpg  JqYsd48.jpg            oTQPZhG.jpg     g3MY9yY.jpg

Here is a technique that has been used to correct this in the past.

Using the cap of a hi-lighter and wider mesh from a kitchen strainer

WZaJXoM.jpg

Place the mesh over the hovi tip and press in with the cap of the hi-lighter

Ygkstzo.jpg

Paint the inside of the hovi tip and rim white (if necessary)

Insert the new screens

As a WTF kit owner I had the same mic tip mesh issue. You're almost there!

Oh wow! I actually did get those replaced from what was provided in the WTF kit, see these posts:

So they need to be even wider? Is there a measurement of the opening somewhere so I can be sure next time? Thanks for the feedback!

No wait!!! ACK, I know what happened! That was an older photo, dated Nov 23rd before I upgraded the meshes. Here is the later photo, dated December 11, 2024:

And here is a zoomed-in look at the front of the helmet:

Does that look better?

I'm sorry for delaying your review Trooper .

We are almost ready to push the approved button Trooper. Just noticed by the D.O. Team that even though your blaster looks great , there are some

3d printing lines still noticeable  . This looks like an easy fix by applying some paint filler  to the printing lines, sand a bit and paint.

Thank you for your effort.

CRL L2: 3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines, and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance.

Hi Mario, thanks for the feedback! This might take me a while to resolve, but I'll get to work on it.

Hi Mario,

I've been plugging away at this, and I think I'm nearly there. Here are three of the four areas that I've fixed:

neGX5Tb.jpg

P1LqUo3.jpg

HKinOg8.jpg

The trigger area has been difficult. There are several layers of filler and Bondo now, in this tricky area. The lines are gone, but it's a bit lumpy now. Is that acceptable (please excuse all the areas I masked off to get this done)?

The area around the "S" has some terrain there :laugh1:. Also, I smoothed out the lines around the base of the selector switch.

Hi Mario,

Here are the new photos. I didn't have my studio lighting kit handy this time, so I hope that the light is OK.

Hi Hanson, and thank you for your EIB application!

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry.  Congratulations!  :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly;

In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team.  Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that  we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions.

Starting from top,  you may want to check if it's possible to lower down a bit . Sometimes it's just a matter of removing some of the top padding .

Another , probably just  dressing issue to take care of every time you put on your armor is that the zipper of your neck seal is very noticeable and looks to be unbuttoned .

                                                                                                                                                              Reference Images

     sEHFMpv.jpg                                   iu7Ibyv.jpg?1

       YXCeHIS.jpg                                                            KmZEqda.jpg?1

Looking at your ABS belt, we noticed that te square buttons  have too much border. As you can see in the references, they don't look to have it. We are suggesting to remove them, sand the border to get them flat and re-glue.

                                                                                                                              Reference Images

                qD84BN9.jpg                                YOAOw0w.jpg?1        dcPynDT.jpg

This is just simple dressing issue, every time you put on your shins, be sure to lower down to touch the boots ankles

                                                                                                                                                                   Reference Images

3XrogGC.jpgEnM6Gt8.jpg   ckt0Ws9.jpgawAUEFF.jpg

Centurion Requirements:

In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval.  Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper.

Startint from your shoulders

CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates.

This looks like a simple strapping issue.  shortening  the shoulder strap and  a bit could reduce the gap. Another trick here is to remove the Shoulder Bell's  return edge to allow them to sit close the chest armor.

                                                                                                                                                   Reference Images

YxaNa20.jpg  qjjhL1B.png?1  AJiCcpk.png?1

hlDChFC.jpg

CRL L3:Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top.
A single visible seam line is present.

This looks more like another dressing issue. Next time you take the Centurion Photos, ( we hope you will) , be sure to tighten the elastics a little to ensure there's no  gap.

                                                                                                                                                       Reference Images

di7HVJz.jpg  9aETRwV.jpg   ICuLOkt.jpg ieF7xdu.jpg?1

CRL L3: The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels.

Not a big deal brother, your ABS belt alignment looks almost perfect , just a piece of velcro behind the right side to keep it up and you're golden.

                                                                                                                             Reference Images

BLXmNmw.jpg        oSsuucN.jpg?1    TqNDcWK.jpg?1

CRL Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.

Your forearms and shins armor is very large compared to your arm and leg size. We absolutely welcome troopers of all different body types, but we do expect that for our highest level of approval, the armor is sized appropriately to the wearer's body. From the front  they're quite large . In order to size down  forearms, you'd need to carefully remove the cover strips, trim back the pieces some, and re-glue them. A hot water bath may also be helpful in re-shaping the curve. For the shins you could carefully remove the rear cover strip , trim both sides a little more and re-glue the cover strip for closure.

And that's all Trooper, CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME TO EIB RANK  :th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

We are confident that you're going to do de fixes and  continue the next level Trooper. !!

Wow, thanks! You've made my weekend! :peace::dancing-trooper::D

To be honest, I was quite self conscious about some of the details you pointed out. I lost a lot of weight last year, which could partially explain things. I'll work on getting this stuff right in my build thread. Stay tuned!
