Thanks for your warm welcome.

I´m just at the beginning of the journey, especially when i look at the thighs.

At the end i will find out, which one is the right side.

As i read in another buildthread ... it looks like rs armour shins are the same, no matter which side.

For the thighs, the large swoop goes to the inside of the thigh (and butt return edge to the front).

And yes, the shins are the same for the RS kit.

Congrats on BBB day.

wish I could say I can help , but I've never owned an RS kit.

plenty of people on here that have though.

don't worry you will do just fine.

Remember there are no dumb questions, only the ones that never got asked.

So always ask if your unsure.

Yepp it`s two left shins and happy BBB-day! RS is a great kit with direct lineage from the Movie as they own a screen-used suit so you will look amazing:duim:

And..to post your pics I recommend using Imgur, best of luck with your build:)

So i take your word for real ... as  i opend the boxes, the helmet and the armour ... i was so amazed and wondering at the same time.

All wip´s i read, the armour looks so shiny white, mine is a little bit like chalk. Is this normal?

I hope, i don´t have to paint the armour, after completing?!?!

Yeah ... the helmet, the tears and that, but the armour?

I will efenetly aske, when i start with the lower arms, and the thighs.

And thanks again for your kind words. :duim:

I'm not sure about that , I don't have that type of armor. Mine was from WTF. It came out of the box all shiny.

That is a good question that needs to be answered by someone with that make of armor.

Definitely,  before you start gluing things together.

You may just want to use clear coat if you do have to paint.

Until you get an answer you could start fitting your parts. (Trimming to your size)

Remember to always measure 3 times and cut once. Or trim only a little at a time until you get your desired result.

It's hard not to be in a hurry,  I know. But it's better than waiting on new parts because you accidentally trimmed to much.

And go back and read up on some build threads. Alot of them tell you what not to do also.

It’s as it should, RS is creamy white up close but looks shiny white on photos:duim:

A little step between building the helmet i got a question about the colours.

Humbrol #85 and # 14 are also available by tamiya and revell, except #5.

I tried out a little bit and looking for your opinion:

So ... next step ... cutting the eyes and the toothholes.

First ... marking them.

Is it right that it don´t matter if you cut 4 teethholes, or 5 teethholes?

I take this to compare with.

I concur with my friend Frank. Correct on your markings. Remember, be conservative with your cutting. You can always cut more if you need to, but can never trim less ;)

Some screen helmets for reference and as you can see they are a bit rugged and I think the way you have yours are perfect and would like to suggest that you use the lens (tape it in temporary) to see if the look appeals to you - as it is your helmet, I´m mearly offering my opinion:salute:

Next step, connecting faceplat and back.

But first make some marks. I drilled the rivethole and marked the holemarks on the faceplate and fixed both pieces together.

Unfortunetaly a gap apears:

I fxed both pieces, so the frown attached smooth the faceplate and marked the future drillholes:

In germany we would ask now the so called Gretchenfrage.

Drill the holes where the marks are on the plate, or prefer to got an screen look?

 "help"
