CableGuy[Admin]
Great work, Daniel. Looking really good. :-) Just a little thought. There appears to be something poking out at the front edge of your forearms. You could consider bringing the forearms down by about an inch to reduce that gap. Not sure if the back gap will be raised. CRL states “Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate.”, but doesn’t actually specify how big the gap can be. I’m sure the DOs will confirm. Best of luck with your application. By this point my wife had deserted me and I was doing pics myself. Is t worth tucking the gloves inside my under suit sleeve to make sure that doesn’t show? In my first garrison admission pics I was told the gap at my elbows was a bit much so I’m finding it hard to work out exactly where’s best to have the spacing. I’m hoping any problems are more due to my dressing than the kit. Fingers crossed. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
CableGuy[Admin]
I’m hoping any problems are more due to my dressing than the kit. Yeah, you're probably right there. If it were me, I'd be tempted to drop the forearms by at least 1cm. That should help keep your gloves from popping out. When you look at the screen shots, as with everything in ANH, there are many variations. Here’s a nice example of Luke and Han’s kits, with about 2cm gap (I’d estimate) at the glove end: Before you go adjusting straps though, I'm sure you'll get more feedback from others in the coming hours. lucnak[TK]
I would also agree with dropping the forearms a bit to even out the black space and to ensure the gloves don't come out. Also not sure on how the back plate to kidney gap will be evaluated. One thing that may be recommended is that it looks like there's a bit of extra flashing still left in the eyes, but it's hard to tell from the angle in the photos. Everything else looks good to me, so good luck! Edit: Are the gloves rubber/rubber-like? Can't tell in the photos For level two certification (if applicable): Gloves shall be rubber or rubber-like chemical gloves, in black. catalystofchaos[501st]
Gloves are rubber or definitely rubber-like. If I can shorten the strapping between back and kidney and extend strapping between forearm and bicep, that will help hopefully. Tonight’s job, and hopefully better pics. Will also fiddle with the neck seal. Any tips on how to make it stay down flush inside back? Shanester[TK]
Looking good trooper! Dropping that forearm armor will probably be more comfortable on your arms and save you from pinching. Good luck on the approvals!
lucnak[TK]
You're looking to keep the neck seal tucked into your undersuit? I added snaps inside my undersuit and on the bib. Just put a snap on a small piece of nylon and then sew on to hide the back of the snap.
catalystofchaos[501st]
Ok I’ve made a few adjustments. Went with the Velcro on neck seal and under the back plate. Worked well. Updated frontRearLid offHopefully improved. Thanks all for advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
CableGuy[Admin]
Superb, mate. Those gaps at the wrist look much better. Looks like your back gap is smaller too. Great work!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
catalystofchaos[501st]
I had a go in kit out and about this weekend. The back felt so much better. Have reinforced the elastic between back and kidney. I did have some issues with my gloves coming out of forearms a bit so was wondering on some ideas there. Either tucking gloves into undrsuit for extra security or possibly Velcro on inside of forearm and outside of glove? CableGuy[Admin]
Hmmm. Strange how they keep popping out then. As you say, you might be able to tuck them into the wrist of your undersuit. I think Velcro under your armour might be a pain when you try to prize the gloves off.
catalystofchaos[501st]
Yeah. I just wasn’t sure if there was any other option. To be honest I kitted up in -2c temp whilst snowing and 20mph wind in Birmingham at the weekend. My fingers weren’t working well at all. I’m surprised I got it all on at all !! I will try again with them under the suit. I think that’s best. Just wondered if any other ideas that might work. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sly11[Admin]
Hi Dan, welcome and thank you for your EIB application. Let's have a look. CRL and EIB Application Requirements:All the required submission photos have been posted and your armor displays all necessary element as set out in the level 2 CRL. Tony and I would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry, congratulations. trooper. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Beautiful job on your RWA and the hand painting of your helmet details, great work indeed. Thank you for taking on board those couple of suggestions made by your fellow troopers, the new photos look great and the gaps are more balanced. One thing you may still be able to adjust is the gap between the back and kidney plates. We can see you have improved it already, just see if you cant close it up a touch more by shortening the connecting straps or even adding a third strap to the center. reference image Next up the left Ab button has too much surface area. Technically it should be smaller than the surface it's glued to, as in the below reference photo. I would also like to make mention on the great job you have done with the side shims, it is very obvious that you built this kit with Centurion in mind from the outset, and now it is but an application away. Centurion Suggestions:In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Make sure those side gaps are closed on both sides between back and ab plates and at this time we don't see anything that would hold you back from attaining that Centurion badge. Thank you for a super clean build and application Dan Head on out trooper and we shall see you in Level 3 review soon.
catalystofchaos[501st]
That is brilliant. Thank you so much. I never even thought about doing third strap on the back. I have already shortened the two I will now add a third and hopefully reduce back gap more. Ab buttons will be nice quick job thanks to the delightful removable e6000. Thanks again will be submitting Centurian soon.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
