TK-31415 Requesting ANH Hero Centurion Status [ATA][150]

Zaphod

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Here is my submission for Centurion Status.

I was aiming for a "A New Hope Han Solo" look. All comments are welcome.

  • Name:                Pete Cantrell

  • TK ID:                31415

  • FISD Name:       Zaphod

  • Garrison:           New England Garrison

Mandatory Information

Optional

  • Height = 5'11"

  • Weight = 205lbs

  • Boots = TK Boots

  • Canvas belt = Tkittell

  • Hand Plates = Sonneschein (Karin's Han Solo Alternative Style)

  • Electronics= Echo Fan System for Bucket, Aker Amp with ICOM (adding environmental sound system one of these days)

  • Neck Seal = Veedox (Hero Style with Bib)

  • Holster = gazmosis

Summary of Upgrades

  • Replaced bracket strapping system with snap and strap system. This allowed me to trim all return edges for more room

  • This also allowed me to lower the chest plate

  • Trimmed chest arm area as suggested in EIB submission

  • Hand painted tube stripes

  • Started eating better and lost 5lbs (205 in pics, down to 200 now  :) )

  • Added straps between shoulder bells and biceps. Kept the bicep hooks for the Han Hero look, but I no longer consider them functional.

  • Added a snap to the ab to keep the belt fixed in the proper position. This also helps to better support the weight of my blaster

  • New rigid holster

  • Repainted the blue ab buttons

Just awesome- great work!  How is your vision in the helmet?  In the one pick in the back of the your helmet, you can see your neck a bit.  Would you be able to raise the padding from the top of the helmet, to bring the whole thing down a bit?  Of course if your sight is spot on as it is, you are all set.

Great job mate, looks excellent.  You may find your TD sits nicer if you straighten the clips a bit, so it goes flat against your back.  Not a clearance issue, just for comfort.

Good luck,

Rowan

Hi Scott.

Thanks for the kind words. I have a hard hat liner inside the helmet. The top of my head pretty much touches the top. The bubble lenses are flat just directly in front of my eyes, and bubbled in my peripheral vision area, if that makes sense. I got them from John Danter TK-8456, he calls them Flubble Lenses. As long as I am looking directly in front, there is very little distortion. I have regular lenses I can switch out if the troop calls for better peripheral vision, like if there is going to be a lot of little kids running around.

Thanks Rowan, I'll have to try that.

The tutorial I followed suggested the bend would help to keep the TD more secure. I'll follow your advice and straighten them a bit.

Yeah I followed the same one, think it is on Youtube, shame it hasn't been corrected :D

You've done a fantastic job though, and this is very minor thing :)

Hey there, Pete!

Thank you for your application for Centurion!!

CRL and Centurion Application Requirements:

All required photos are posted. All "hero" elements are present. Bubble lenses, 3 tooth frown, 3 rank bar ears, 2 ear screws, 4 holster attachment points. You said you were going for the "Han" look of your armor. I think it's cool that you even have the two different hand plates! Nice detail! Since the "Han" look here is a generalization and not a costume replication, certain Centurion requirements like blaster details must be met.

Now that we got that out of the way, I am pleased to be able to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion!!!

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

I was really hoping to see your shoulder bells moved a little closer to your bridges.

I would also re-tie your shoulder bridge elastic. With it that loose, it's not a matter of if but when you will lose those.

Great fit on your sniper plate.

The upgrades you have done really make a difference. I'll bet that your chest is a lot more comfortable after you lowered it since it's not cramming up into your neck. It looks so much better as does your waist belt.

Great overall work. It would be an honor to troop beside you!

Congratulations!!

Steve, thank you so much for the approval, and for all of your tireless work looking at and critiquing every EIB and Centurion submission on these boards.

It's a tough job, and you do it to perfection.

I'm thrilled to bits to join the ranks of Centurion. My shoulder bells are what they are. I think I would like to get bigger ones as I fill out the ATA and I think I can make it look better.

I might replace the biceps also as they are also pretty tight.

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

Pete
