Well lookie what I found on the RPF...

Looks to ba a LFL approved Rubies Supreme TK.

Looks also to be based of the ROTJ Tour suit. Helmet seems to be a DP CA.

Should this be 501st? I vote no way. Horrid out of the gate. Price is said to be 800 or so.

Might even be Vinyl armor.

If the pictures vs the real costume are anything like the supreme Vader, it wil be terrible. Rubies has a magic camera that makes sub-par costumes look really good in pictures and on the box.

I dont like it. #1 Because its not going to be high enough quality. #2 Because the price is not competitive with better quality armor. #3 Because the I think its going to become something that alot of people will buy to be like us, which may effect our "standing out" as an organization.

I hate it the armor looks terrible and the helmet does as well. I have never really been a fan of the ROTJ, SE, or Tour suits though. On a positive note I am picking up my TE2 helmet on my lunch break today! :)

To be honest i say 'wait and see'. Like everything else the promo pictures will be nothing like the costume that exits that box. If you really got what you see in the picture minus the helmet it would not be a bad costume.

Just remember that all of your TE stuff out there were casted form ROTJ armor to "look" like an ANH :P, you guys are too funny :lol: all of you need to recognise that without ROTJ armor existing, there wouldn't be much to choose from nowadays :)

I can't wait to see the real thing..If it's anything like the Rubies Vader box pic vs. what the Rubies Vader actually looks like...YIKES!

I don't think the armor in the pic looks that bad...If some one came out of nowhere with that pic and said "hey , here's my new armor" I bet alot of people here would be saying "great job...you really got the ROTJ look!" instead of "yuk" :)

..in that pic it looks alot better than an unmodded FX kit ...I am totally sick of troopers with BLACK tube stripes!!! :)

There is a cure, even for the FX buckets....................

"But, but...it came with the kit. Along with the black buttons. If it came with the kit it must be correct, right?"

Sorry guys - been a hard day and I have to let off some sarcasm...

to me the armour in the picture looks sound. the helmet sucks though and as far as i know there aint too many ROTJ fan buckets about so to look like a good ROTJ tk your gonna be stumped at the second hurdle.

I'll reserve judgement till a true picture of someone wearing it fresh out the box appears.

FWIW, I'm not trying to pick on guys with stock FX helmets. My first bucket was stock FX for long time until I discovered while converting it to a TD that's not how it should be. Needless to say I ended up trading it for an MG-15 and ordered an AP.

It's one thing to be ignorant of how to improve a costume. Most folks when you take the time to explain and show them they can make it look much better/accurate at a very low cost effort will do so.

Alas, there are some who just don't care.

actually, the original ROTJ helmets came in different shapes they all didn't have that smashed look to them, some looking very close to an AP shape ;)

If thats a real person, they probably just threw it on who ever it fit the best without trimming it just for the pics...if its CG, then yeah the joins are pretty squished :)

Here it, what you've all been waiting for. All from a garrison mate of mine who shares his opinion:

Well, I got back from the Halloween show and got to see this armor up close and personal. I will posts the photos I took later, but in the meantime:

This armor is so flimsy it isnt even funny. If you have seen the plastic masks that come with the kids costumes, this plastic is about twice as thick as that stuff and just as bendable. The helmet is laughable. It does not have shoes. The shoulder bells were completely warped and pitted. It was held together by black velcro strips (some of which were pulling away from the armor on the manequin)

I suppose for anyone wanting a costume to wear to the bar in hopes of winning some cash this would work. But it doesnt hold a candle to the quality of armor found in the 501st. If someone is serious about joining the 501st, avoid this like the plague.

these are the photos that I was able to get before someone from Rubies asked me to stop...

you could grab the plastic in your fingers and torque it around without any problems. It was pretty flimsy.
