Recast AM I believe. Fiberglass will be heavy - you can get better lids for less via sellers on this board.

MTK makes, assembles, and paints sandy lids. I don't know what you're idea of "cheap" is ... But it would be an option. Other than that, I would suggest buying an ATA kit and building/painting it. The second way is more fun. :)

The MGM lids do look really nice and it would be good to make up a lid from scratch but it's not for me, I have a mate that wants to do a sandy on the cheap as he has limited cash at the moment, hence why I resorted to looking on evil bay.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. ATA is 'cheap' but not cheap and nasty cheap.

It is allot of fun building and painting your own lid.

As for the lineage of the helmet. I'm not really sure. But I'm no expert.

ATA all the way!!! You won't be sorry. TK-4510 Mike at trooperbay has an awsome helmet as well.

It's AM, which is simply FX with a updated (rounded) dome. A recasted AM at that - AM helmets aren't made of fiberglass. :duimomlaag:

It has a rounder dome?

AM has a rounder dome than FX, it's one of the few changes they made to the helmet when they went from making FX to AM (it's same people behind both kits)
