Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Excellent! Chewie is my kids' favorite. I hope someday to do Chewie and my wife do Leia Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 FYI - lmk what you find. Most Chewbacca's I've seen aren't that accurate. Quote
SuperTrooper Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I know their is one Chewbacca in Germany that is stellar crazy accurate. Quote

Paul, that Chewbacca was made by someone on The Dented Helmet, his plans are to start a run. If I remember correctly his screen name is dougiefett or something like that Quote

R2Dan[TK] Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I know their is one Chewbacca in Germany that is stellar crazy accurate. There are two now, actually. One that has been around for a while, all self sculpted, hand punched hair and the right height as well, amazing costume. And now there's this new one, had his debut at Jedi Con this year. Done by Jörg aka. "Trap Joe" on the RPF, and it's a beauty! It wasn't Chewie at the con, but a "werewookiee", had to do with the con opening movie. Still a fabulous costume! Quote
unheard Posted April 22, 2010 Author Report Posted April 22, 2010 what i want to know is how they make the nose lol Quote
Laspector[TK] Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Some of the problems I have seen with Chewie outfits is that some people use drywall stilts. Yeas this makes them very tall but unless you add some kind of arm extensions it looks like their arms are cut off at the elbow. IE wookie length legs but human length arms. Very strange looking. unheard Posted April 22, 2010 Author Report Posted April 22, 2010 i also find the hair looks to long and to big Quote
Eric Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 FYI for those interested in the suit that the guy on TDH was making a run on... he's more than exceeded the number he planned on making and is no longer taking orders. <_< silly me thought of cross dressing. lol. Quote

The chewie above was made by my good friend Dougie fett it got its first test run at Invasion Dublin event run by the Emerald Garrison who are independent of the 501st but many members like myself are 501st cleared members I think Dougie fett still has a good few tweaks to make to the costume after getting it out for the first test run he found a few things that he wanted to change so thats what he's working on now as well as doing a few others for people elsewhere. Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Sorry, where is the link in the RPF? My kids want me to do this costume, but will spot an imperfect Wookie a mile away. Cost no object, which is the best Wookie? Quote
