Is EIB slowly becoming obsolete?
bobojuice replied to Darth Aloha's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
I'm in the same boat as Steve. Too fat for Centurion at the moment. Haha. -
Jesse hooked me up with a replacement scope when my gf dropped one and broke it! He also went out of his way to exchange some old scopes with the new brass ones he was making. Big Kudos to him!

Nomex Flight Gloves Black Dye Bleed
bobojuice replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
The ones I had were these:----------- I didn't really experience any bleed until C5, so about a year later. It wasn't so much that they were dripping dye or anything, I would just notice smudge marks on my bucket after holding it or putting it on. Could have been any other number of factors. -
Nomex Flight Gloves Black Dye Bleed
bobojuice replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
My old nomex gloves indeed used to bleed after long trooping sessions. Being in FL you tend to sweat a ton. Once they're wet, they tend to leave marks on anything you touch. Including your bucket. -
501st approved Deathtrooper #2
bobojuice replied to stormtrooperguy's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I was checking this out earlier and I have to say this is AMAZING. I'm not even a fan of the Deathtrooper, but this guy's work is TOP NOTCH. That said, I would love to see something like this done on a set of more accurate armor, but still. WOW! -
Looking for the perfect snap source
bobojuice replied to TKittell's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Awesome! Thanks, brother. -
Tape a firecracker on there and blow it up. Spray some light clear coat on it, and call it a blaster mark.

bobojuice replied to TKittell's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Tandy tools are nothing like that. Those would be awesome to keep the stupid snaps from sliding around when you're banging the crap out of them. I wonder if they would fit the Tandy snaps. Do they sell the tool kits separate? -
I don't. I've weathered my armor a bit and let it scuff and wear naturally.

What to use to clean your armor after each troop
bobojuice replied to Jorran's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
You think real Stormtroopers never had problems with their butts rubbing on things they shouldn't? -
What to use to clean your armor after each troop

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. Either way, like I said Magic Erasers are a bad idea. -

bobojuice replied to Jorran's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Magic Erasers do not contain chemicals so that part is fine. The part that I would say to steer clear of them is that they act as a sort of sandpaper. The foam in Magic Erasers is actually kind of like a glass, so if you use them on your shiny armor, it might not be so shiny afterwards. Here's a link for those that want more info on how they work: http://home.howstuffworks.com/magic-eraser1.htm -
My Boots from TKBOOTS
bobojuice replied to selfy's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
When I ordered my size 10s there was actually enough room in my boot to fit an insole and still fit me. I wear a size ten so that might be saying something. -
I use the hammer method or a C-Clamp on them depending on where they're going. Just bend the legs out with a screwdriver and then you're ready to set them.

What to use to clean your armor after each troop
bobojuice replied to Jorran's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Cleaning armor is for desk jockeys. I let mine accumulate dings and dirt. Also, I had my old armor for over 2 years and never once cleaned the inside and it didn't smell one bit. The one thing you need to always remember is when you come home after a troop, keep your bin open for the rest of the day so the armor can air out. Oh, and always wash your under armor. -

If he does, I'll eat my hat. -
Here's a sizing chart over on divers direct's website. It's for the one i bought. Take it as you may. ----------

I got mine locally @ divers direct. I also ordered some compression gear off Eastbay. It was on sale for 40 bucks for a whole set. Same stuff as UA just not name brand.

I'm not a big fan of those under suits. I too bought one because everyone on here raved about them. Little did I know how hot that COTTON under suit is when you're wearing armor. I'd really only recommend wearing it in cooler climates or during winter. I no longer wear mine, nor will I ever. I just use it for a helmet bag. For now, I stick to my dive skin or underarmor.
