  1. That definitely has a very ROTJ look to it, wow. But I don't see any white trim around the edges of the cod and chest, is it just the photos? I think trim would be necessary for EIB.
  2. Okay, only slight marks where other material will crack. Still pretty darn impressive!
  3. They do look good! So what's the deal with these, are they white leather or are they just superficially dyed and will eventually rub off to show black leather like the movie ones? I really can't tell from the pics or the homepage...
  4. Wow. That really is flexible. I gotta admit, owning PT armor, that it's definitely not THAT flexible. You know, "almost touching your toes" flexible like in the pic...that's insane! I at least am not able to do this in my PT. Great stuff! No longer having to rely on other people picking up stuff you dropped whilst trooping, or having trouble putting your boots on AFTER putting on the armor. So really, really bending this, to the point where other materials will crack, doesn't even leave any marks on the material? That is really really jaw-droppingly impressive.
  5. Yay, I made it, thanks! Looks like regardless of EIB status, there's still a lot of room for improvement. Things I will do: - check the fit on the calves and tighten them in the back (they do come apart sometimes to show black, Tantive IV style ) - see to padding the thigh pieces' knee areas like Terry suggested - adjust the torso straps to reduce the back plate/kindey plate gap I might replace the frown mesh too but it only reads as "not black" under flash. Thanks again for all your feedback!
  6. Thanks a lot for your input, I forgot to say btw: any advice and feedback is very welcome! @Doug: Thx mate, I do have straps installed between upper back and kidney, but I was standing a little crooked as it seems. Wasn't there a gap in ANH, though? @Terry: yeah, I read about the hero/stunt difference in the holster snaps after I finished my belt, and removing snaps then didn't seem like a good option. It kinda bugs me a little, I'll see to fixing that in the far future (with a new belt with only 2 snaps, leaving this one as my "hero" belt in case I get a hero lid someday). You're right about the thigh pieces, thanks for the suggestion. Well, my thighs are on the rather big side, I don't think additional padding will even fit!
  7. Hi there, TK-7580 from German Garrison reporting in. I'm ready for my EIB application, I think, and I've gone ANH stunt style all the way. I hope I have all details covered in pics. If there's something missing or not clear enough, let me know. Here we go! Front view: Rear view (I forgot to button the crotch strap here... ) : Side views: Helmet: Green lenses: Blaster (the one on the bottom): Action shot: And as a bonus, a short dorky video of things in motion - without legs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI4btWZpTjw
  8. Alrighty, thanks! Will do that then, waiting til I'm all set.
  9. Ha, same here - guess the only thing holding me back so far is not a problem then! All I need is good pics of everything. BTW, is it okay to post what I've got so far and then add the rest later? Or is it better to request EIB with everything in one post? Just curious...
  10. It sure does, that's what I'm gonna do as an upgrade soon. All I need is some wire in the correct thickness. Thanks!
  11. Where's that from? I've never seen anything like that in any of the movies, so I thought I'd just ask what I might have missed. I thought that the drop boxes have to touch the belt, or almost do so...
  12. These should really do come handy for anyone in doubt, I had my fair share of confusion... There really isn't any return edge on that left biceps...strange! Shouldn't there be one? Maybe that's something ATA should modify for future pulls?
  13. I had similar problems with glue burning through my armor in places - I just used too much of it, though. But man, your looking great so far, awesome progress. I love the shine of your paintjob!
  14. I'd say trim to the 2nd line and then some (1mm or so), that's what I did. You can either draw a guideline with a soft pencil or use tape to guide the blade. BTW, I also have a return edge where possible, but there are only some parts where those are possible.
  15. Funny you mention that, I wonder if that'd be me. I have a vid of my PT gear on youtube, but I don't think you can find it yet. I just did a search for "stormtrooper PT" and almost nothing comes up... This is me, anyways: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK0yVxXVi8g It really is quite awesome, I'm gonna apply for elite soon once I've had professional photos taken. Oh, btw: my swoops face back, as on most suits in ANH.
  16. That's quite a sight to behold. Awesome collection!
  17. I have the same problem basically with very unnerving high pitched feedback. I have a speaker that I was planning to place behind the chest plate and a small microphone inside the helmet just centered right above the painted black vocoder. So I guess the mic isn't necessarily in front of the speaker but I still get feedback that'll make you cringe. I guess it's the distance between mic and speaker, and that's my problem: I don't have anywhere else to put my speaker (it's powered by 6 mignon (AA) batteries, they have to go somewhere too...it takes up quite some room) that would put more distance between mic and speaker. Any ideas? I don't want to resort to mounting it on my belt externally, but there I could crank the volume up and still have no feedback. Ideal position on my waist....dang. I've bought it as all in one plastic cover case (batteries and chip and speaker) and don't want to tear it apart and rewire it. Right now I carry it in my holster. But where to put the blaster then...? Ah, problems...
  18. Awesome, thanks for the info. Guess I'm good to go then.
  19. Hi all, just a quick question regarding EIB requirements since I'm only one part away (waiting for my soft goods belt) from applying for elite (ANH stunt): is it okay if the D-ring is part of the resin cast and immobile? I have a resin cast of an original sterling with all the extras (hengstler, t-tracks, mag cylinders) and was wondering if the endcap ring has to be functional for elite status. Thanks in advance!
