  1. Oh noes! I feel a disturbance in my bank account! Love those and the Darth Vabear with the reveal face.... oh my!
  2. Or do like I did and line most of your helmet with the soft side of the velcro so you can reposition it or change it out completely if you decide to do something else. I went velcro crazy and even have my lense material velcro'd in place lol.
  3. If I could have one wish for armor makers, it would be to take enough time to mark the arms and legs as to which part it is right or left. Arguing for 20 minutes over a pair of shins is not good for any party involved. I appreciate the rough trim that you guys do, but I'd rather have to trim 4 inches of junk plastic off than nearly get into a fist fight over arms and legs lol.
  4. Good deal man! Love how the suit turned out! Have fun, paint the canes to match
  5. Yep blue for stun, red for kill'um big time lol!
  6. Ok, who is going to admit to this?
  7. Damn fine display! You had to remove some padding to make it fit the mannequin!? @#$#$ skinny troopers lol.
  8. Well when I did it, it was not to replicate the original as I had totally forgotten about that picture... I ended up using two rivets to help pull the sides closer together so that there was not a gap in between the front and back pieces. This was my first time assembling a helmet and I was afraid the screws would not be enough to join the two parts nicely. Once the entire helmet was together, I can see that I probably did not need to do it. But I have a very sturdy helmet now lol.
  9. LOL, you want to see my poor wiring skills?! I put it together very quickly late in the evening so instead of doing it all nice and color coded like I should have it is pretty bad. I'll see if I can get some pictures that make sense tonight. I'll take one of inside the helmet and then pull the wires out of the wire guide tubing and show the entire unit with both fans.
  10. Thanks Jim, I gave up on anyone replying to this, so I've been testing it out this week. I have over 8 hours run time on two fans using Duracell AA's. The setup I am using has two 4 battery holders that hookup using a 9v connector. I'm still playing with where to put everything in the helmet so I can easily take it off and on. But otherwise I'm pretty happy. I have everything using velcro right now until I decide on something more permanent.
  11. Great looking suit! $#@##$ skinny troopers! hehe
  12. Absolutely! Sign me up for a signed copy
  13. Well easy enough to fix, they are riveted to my shims... I was hoping not to have to do it, but I'm trying to build the suit to meet EIB requirements whether I get it or not.
  14. Rivets on the ab armor sides. As seen in this picture of an original screen used armor. You can see three on the left.
  15. You could drill them out and fill in the holes and glue them correctly. I'm glad they are not a requirement! That will be my saving grace going for EIB since I had a dyslexic moment and put mine on the wrong side lol.
  16. Yep in same boat, neck seal and ab buttons to finish out my kit (then the wait to be approved by my garrison lol). I want to be lucky #99 hehe
  17. LOL I know, what I love is the Craig's list frauds. Had a guy inquire on an item, I replied... here is the message from him and my response, needless to say, he never replied back. Sir, You could have saved yourself mucH trouble by simply stating "I am a scammer. Please let me steal your money". You did not even bother to reply with the same email as before, so I'm supposing someone already had Goggle shut it down. Please do not reply to me any more. Any new mails from your IP class will be brought to Goggle's attention. Good Day.
  18. Don't get me wrong, the MRCE is a great helmet, but there is work that needs to be done to it. On the other hand, you can purchase a helmet that you will need to trim, assemble and paint for less than $200. Take a look at the ATA helmet builds here
  19. Yes there are many troopers with the MRCE and FX armor. There is a couple good post on how to modify the MRCE.
  20. I'm going to call it a night before I paint something that I shouldn't. I'll get the vocoder, ears and frown painted tomorrow evening. and then try my hand at putting pin striping around the ears the next day. The suit could be finished, atleast the parts I do have, by Halloween if I take the next two days off and the weather cooperates. I would be lacking my neck seal, holster, knee plate and blaster scope.
  21. Thanks, the scratch is on my bad eye... So I can't see it at all when wearing the helmet.
  22. WEll I'm not going to get my suit done in time for Halloween, so I'm working on finishing my helmet so I can atleast wear it. Maybe have to do an "off duty" trooper - jeans, flannel shirt, fishing rod and TK helmet lol. I need to get the frown and vocoder painted and the screen mesh installed. But I have the lenses and a hard hat liner installed. Look Ma! You can't see my eyes! You can however see my nose lol and I just noticed I scratched the lens installing it BAH!
  23. Hey gang, two quick questions... I am getting very close to having my suit done and am waiting on ab buttons from VaderDave. The button plates on my suit are not the best detail, which is why I want a set of his great buttons. If I end up painting the buttons on, will I simply be able to drill the plates and install his buttons? Or will the buttons look to high from the plates? I had a dyslexic moment and assembled my ab section with the 6 rivets on the right hand side instead of the left. Is this going to cause me any issues going for EIB?
