Hi it was masked off then painted with car spray from halfords --------- Plastic primer grey cheers

I used the netting you get with onions in it. I folded it and painted it black with car spray. Cheap as chips. I then Just hotglued it onto place. ------------ cheers

IMHO i would do this. It would be easier if you could remove the material/mesh first before painting it though. cheers

Hi, Alot of people use welding mask for lense material, especilly for the old boba helmets. Do they not do it in a dark brown/black?? There is still loads of disputes as to what the original colour was. No-one knows for sure....... The new hero from M/R apparently comes with both sets,so you can put in your prefered tint. There must be a supplier of lighting gel that does this coloured plastic somewhere...anybody??? cheers

Paul that would be really good to post up. Especially as your armor is rated as one of the best. cheers

Its TK everytime. TD's only played such a short part in the film anyway. Also some td's do look way over the top with the dirtying up process. Thats my opinion for what its worth. cheers

yeah and dave could make another film!!! Yeeeehaaa

That my friend is a thing of beauty. I would be as proud as punch if i had got my armor to that standard. You should give yourself a pat on the back. I still think dave should do a video, dont you??? Thanks for posting mate

I would love to see one day a comparison shot with some armor next to each other, with an overlay pointing out the differnces between them. This would be educational for all of us. Ultimately we all strive for quality and the right prices. Ive seen some nice comparisons on other forums with helmets. It was a visual treat! I love that post from curtis. This is because it is so informative and not just an opinion. Nice one. Thats my penny's worth anyway. cheers all

yeah ,sorry forgot to mention that bit. Variable speed is important. cheers john for that point

HI dude,IMHO i would always use a corded dremel for the higher power sttings you need. Mine isnt a dremmel brand but its good for the job. This is a similar one to mine and ive been really pleased ----- hope this is of help

The bottom picture is a lot better fit in the shoulder bells. As to mixing various types of armor, its godd as long as there isnt any major colour difference. You know in your own heart what looks the best ,,,,go with your gut feeling. Thats my penny's worth anyway. Cheers

Hi guys, ive been still working on this project. I know some might of thought i would give up but to you!. To people new to the forum ill give you a light background. I started this project out of nesesity for a few reasons. 1 I just cannot afford to buy a full set of armour 2 Im rather on the larger size. 6 foot six/seven so off i went and got some info and materials. After about 2 months of shapping and sanding it was time to vac form. Dissaster struck and the mold was ruined. With the encouragement of some good people here(you know who you are) I cracked on to rebuild the mold. I will make a cast of this mold using a method told to me by TM. anyways here are a couple latest pics of the said mold. PLEASE BE GENTILE AS IVE HAD MY EGO CRUSHED ONCE on this project before with the dissaster. Ignor the blemishes on the surface colours as they are just different fillers.

nice kit you've got there. Ive found the best way is not to trim as such. The best Way is score and snap. Use loads of ref. pics as well. Also dont trim off more then regret it later. And the last bit, take your time and ENJOY it rather than getting too stressed. Hope this helps
