  1. RT-MOD has for me always been a favorite. Its very easy to put together and looks great when assembled. Rob is a great guy too.
  2. YAY!!!!! WE WIN!!
  3. Looks very nice. Good Job!
  4. Awe, things didnt pan out like I thought they would so disregard..
  5. I cant say just yet, but I will know very soon....
  6. he does that too, but his former pre stretches the plastic so that there is no cooling lines.
  7. Yes you are correct. You have to form on a professional machine to achieve professional results. But that machine costs like $30,000.00 too
  8. Hey...I may have a solution for you. Did you get taken care of?
  9. Well the good stuff....there aint much in teh way of pics. There is a history thread in the ANH area I think.
  10. What do you want to know?
  11. Oh I see...Well...hmmm. If you have to pay for sending back and all....no I would just do the best I could with it. If he is willing to pay for your shipping it back to him then I would say send it back. OR just have him send you another and keep the bad one no charge. He should be willing to just send you another one. Its not like he can sell yours to someone here When I make a decal or shirt error I rarely ever ask someone to send me back anything.
  12. I would save it for sure. You can always use it for another trooper lid or as a back up.
  13. True. The HERO I saw at Celebration 4 had fish eyes and cooling lines. Nobody likes them though
  14. Dont forget KW's A.N.H. helmet. Thats rotocast but its semetrical and has plenty of room for fans.
  15. Wow man, thanks for sharing
  16. You should just have him send you a piece to see if it will match. cost ya $.44
  17. Yes more shallow eye wells for sure. The lip you are referring to has already been cut off on your faceplate. As I have said I think your eyes are cut enough and I wouldnt do any more.
  18. Look here: http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-ESB-stormtrooper-armor-helmets.htm Study the trim on these helmets.
  19. I dont think I ever mentioned ATA, if you were referring to me. I agree with Terry that just sanding and polishing may be a better approach. No matter what, its going to be a ton of sanding, trust me. Cooling lines are in fact a "normal" side effect of vacuumforming. The only way to relieve the issue is to preheat the molds or change the angle of the forming to make the line minimized or make the line somewhere less visible. You can also minimize cooling lines by "pre-streching" the ABS before forming it, like industrial machines do. Its tricky there too. Too much pre-stretch and you create webbing. With ABS its a REAL challenge, no doubt.
  20. Thats what I was thinking too.
  21. These are all cooling lines. It appears as though he has not figured out how to eliminate them during the forming process if everyone here has them. All you can do is fill the area and paint the helmet. See the "OMG" thread....--------------
  22. Thats a cooling line from the plastic hitting the mold and stretching. It is NOT something you want. It IS somewhat common but considered a "B" grade pull. I would email him pics and tell him you want a cap n back without cooling lines or stretch lines. If you sent him a pic of the front he should know that he needs to send you a better pull. Those lines are apparent on alot of stuff but they can be minimized. On the Cap n Back they can be a real bear. Did you buy a discounted set or "B" grade???
  23. Thanks man, those are great suggestions. If you search these boards you will see a few threads on the subjects that you are referring to.
