  1. Better. The detail on the back will be covered by the handplate. I'm still thinking they're too short. If they're cheap it may be worth a try out.
  2. Done, Zach! That's a serious set of costumes you've got there, sir.
  3. I love the rubber handplates and would support this proposal and I recognise that it would take a bit of getting used to for some people. I get funny looks from fellow troopers including my two fellow IEs for the latex handplates. Colin, Mark, I've seen those looks. As Paul has said in the past, EIB at this time, is not supposed to be uber movie accurate, it's a better depiction of a specific movie type stormtrooper than is currently required in the 501st/[insert local garrison here]. I'd agree and I have discovered a small amount of resistance and even ill-informed mockery of what we do here. I am correcting this attitude through better information wherever I come into contact with it, as I believe this is the mission for all EIB troopers. Promotion, not evangelising of the standard. Explanation of what we do and the reason we're proud of what we achieve. Correction, through better information, of ill-informed negative attitudes towards EIB.
  4. It's nice to get stuff for free and probably not, sorry. You really need long gloves to go under your forearm armour. You'll see flesh when you bend your wrists with those and I'd be concerned about the logo on the palm and back showing under the corner of a handplate, too. You need Nomex flight gloves style things, or rubber chem gloves. See Smitty, or cheaperthandirt
  5. I've been knocking around the net looking at the few pics available and have updated the cylinder holder template:
  6. What did you shield your mic with? My ROM/FX is giving me horrendous feedback at the moment.
  7. The pics on sterling blaster conversion are amazing. Glad folks are still getting use out of the DSSL/Sskunky/synaptyx cylinder template.
  8. Excellent! Lookin' good guys.
  9. I used a nearly whole large tube during my armour fitting and re-strapping. Great stuff, smells AMAZING! (seriously, use in a well ventilated area!)
  10. Oh god I love TE2s, they make me go all goosepimply!
  11. I guess we'll never know...
  12. Velcro is your friend! Fluffy side industrial velcro 13cm*5cm: E6000 a strip of the hook part to the back 5cm*1cm: Pop a hole in it for the volume control, which conveniently stops the ROM/FX slipping out and attach to a hooked pad wherever you want it. Making it moveable between costumes.
  13. I dunno Billy, I'm in the 'it's a reflection' camp for that one.
  14. WOW! Those pics are awesome, Jess. Your AP kit is gorgeous. I wish I looked that good in Armour.
  15. Cool. I should start copying the standards pages into the cms...
  16. Or you can copy the forum image link and forgo the pic button completely.
  17. Why can't the official types just make them right!? Nice collection, mate.
  18. Very cool! Thanks for posting up the pics, mate! Loving the green!
  19. Just finished my modded SDS thermal detonator. --------- 2* 24mm*170mm*2mm alu strips. Fluffy velcro to stop it scratching the back/kidney plate and to grip the belt better. It's not a very neat job at the curves, but it works and looks fine on the belt.
  20. You should be able to get small quantities on the bay of fleas.
  21. Inkjet transparencies for overhead projectors is what you want.
  22. Aw crud. I just realised that paint.net uses that useless printing wizard. Sorry, mate. Try this: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ download and install gimp. Open the image with gimp. Go File>Print then click the Image Settings tab and change the X Resolution box to 300, then click in the Y Resolution box, it should change automatically. You should see the size change in the preview on the right. Click the general tab and go through the printing process from there. HTH!
