  1. like everyone has pretty much said pencil the eyes, drill some holes, and dont forget to TAKE YOUR TIME CUTTING AND CONTIUNE BREATHING! lol! personally, i use an exacto knife for the final trimming.
  2. Best wishes, fellow trooper!
  3. best one ive seen yet.
  4. ive always used a brush to paint frowns on all of the helmets ive built. it is a control thing
  5. thats a good looking redo of what the MR-CE should have been in the first place!
  6. that was kinda my point. arguing opinion is a lose/lose situation. because there is no such thing as a wrong opinion! i always wondered why its "ok" (is it?) that the, lets call them original recasters, are never "bashed" or whatever for recasting? if im not mistaken they didnt take measurements and make thier own molds. i could be wrong. thats why im asking. so unless anyone has an answer, i dont need an opinion
  7. ohh, arguments over opinion! awesome! there is so much irony and double standard in here, i love it!
  8. isnt that the ridge that on the ab plates in the first place? doesnt look cut to me someone take a pic of the ANH ab plate without thier belt in the way
  9. darman, hobby world right by your house should have that iron to redo the chest plate edge. im stuck at home till @4pm but ill call you then and we can heat and reshape the thighs
  10. i wish i had some pics but i dont so ill do my best to explain! ON FX ARMOR i see everyone cut the cod like the above pics. the biggest issue with the ab/cod IMO with FX armor is that the belt waistline is waaaaaaay too low. which results in the the belt being wrapped around your hip and not at your waist like the ANH suits. also makes the costumes torso area look long and out of proportion. notice in the movies the belt is high waisted...it was the 70's ive started cutting the cod off 1" where the belt butts against the button box and the putting about as 2-2 1/2' gap to the cod. THE GAP BETWEEN THE TWO PIECES IS KEY! IF YOU BUTT THEM TOO CLOSE YOU DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF CUTTING IT LIKE THIS! when you cut the cod like this you notice at the top of the cod you will nee to angle the flat pice at the top to match the more bikini like cod of the movies. also you have to move the AB plate UP. it does two things :it gets the belt off of your hip and onto your waist which allows *tada* more flexibilty and it also looks more screen accurate. for shorter troopers you might have to trim the TOP of your abplate if its sticking up to high underneath you chest. edit: trying to explain via photoshop!
  11. i had the same issue i glued the thighs together then stuck a bar in them to push them the right direction, applied heat till i got the shape i was looking for! nice and simple
  12. i paint mine with a silver base coat THEN put the black coat over that...that way it wears the black off and reveals the silver which IMO looks more natural than dry brushing, etc you can always speed up the process by scraping the hard ridges to let the silver come through too
  13. just carry a dry erase marker instead
  14. im really doubting its on my end due to the randomness and its ONLY this website. not to mention i have plenty of "troubleshooting experience" thanks though
  15. its still happens to me at random intervals...no other forums, no other websites...just this one
  16. if you press the ear against the bucket , take your pencil and let the tube guide it while you mark the ear and that will give you a good idea of the shpae you need to cut to reduce the gap god this is hard to describe!!
  17. the brow trim should stop at the gray trapazoid and it needs to sit right at the top of the lenses, but the frown looks much improved!
  18. i noticer alot of people overpaint the frown by painting the ridge too...the teeth are the only things painted for ANH buckets, wether they are stunt or heros
  19. industrial velcro
  20. 1. can i have a picture? X 2,482,364,911 2. why? 3. is it hot? top 3 ?'s TKs get asked!
  21. looking at shots of troopers from the movie the butt plate is cut BELOW the belt...you can see the seam...not covered by it you can see it if you watch ANH
