Mounting a Holster on a canvas belt
TK-2126_MD replied to INDY's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I used riviets that were place on a plastic square,on one side i place industrial velcro and on the belt i place velcro. so this way the actual holster is removable. And i used snaps for the plastic belt to the canvas belt -------- -

ATA Helmet Build[*ATA]
TK-2126_MD replied to Irishtrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Nice!!! very sharp tight trims..... u sure u didnt do this before. It sure doesnt look like the work of a Virgin It must be the luck of the Irish ( Okay had to get that one of my chest) Honestly great work looks great!!! keep that camara clicking and post every thing u can!!!! Good stuff. -
Hmmmm Interesting points. Personally i am a little promiscuous in this area. I am forced to settle with what I can get ….. As much as I would love to be a passionate as TM or Firebladejedi force as close as 100%, I do have to come to terms that living in the out rim ( Third world country) I don’t have access to many items and supplies as most do. So I have to settle with what I can. Take painting for example we don’t have primers down here…. Really the only primer available for sell is for priming wood….. I guess it could work, but not worth trying to see if it does. Scratch build E-11, in my country there isn’t the specific diameter PVC pipe or metal one that one needs so one needs to learn to compromise. But I do believe in trying to get as close as one can with what he/she has at hand at the moment. Functionality is a must to, as far as trooping goes.

Plus it give the lid that splat job "What do u mean we have to paint 100 helemts and armor plus the boots for tommorrows shot" look!!!!! Sloppy paint job = happy trooper!!!!!

Chazz (Gundamzeppelin): do the role he played in the beggin with armor building and armor accessories he made available to the forum, and his willingness to share all he had to teach. Commander Dragas: his willingness to get involved with troopers by helping them out and making it personal. At least from our part Dragas is one of the troopers that made it possible for OutPost Bolivia to even apply for OutPost Status. We are here thanks to him and troopers like him. Mike Harrison: ….. lets face it many strive to try to armor and prop build like him ,were few get close. I think he is some one that has been involved with many areas of SW costuming that reaches far past one detachment, but many. Stomper: were would many of use be with out his props…… Stompy is more then this props but he has helped mostly every trooper here ( Standard Tk as well as EIB) T and TM….. no need to explain. John Danter he has been like a archive droid, being able to find thous rare behind the scene pics and info on more than one occasion, he has been responsible for many thing we take as givens in the FISD now. Vpier No need to explain there ( granted there the small fact that he is not with armor) but that should be resolved very shortly. Man there are so many……. post later must rest…….

Do we post here??? For starters Every one that has been in the command staff.... every one before and now have been fundamental in the growth, direction and maturity of theses boards..... just to name a few Scott he was the first EIB officer and was not only helpful, kind and honest with his critics and suggestions..... I bet that if he ever had to fire someone, that person would leave happy and after he got fired. Carlos..... he was the forums Morale/indoctrination officer at the start, he ran a no nonsense boat in this area said it as he saw it, he had a neck for defusing a potential situation in a couple sec flat. Man, there are so many.......... i will come back and post some more, Scott and Carlos were the first 2 that pop in my head from the early yrs..... Good luck Paul with the election of the First FISD Service Medal, that is one job that will be grueling an brutal... I don’t envy u Paul.... it will be a very hard job ahead of u........

Why paint the inside of the bucket black?
TK-2126_MD replied to Velcro's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Very nice Jeremy!!! that must of made the helmet very sturdy!! did u apply to each piece separatly and then build the lid or did u apply it to a finished helmet, i looks like u did it on piece at a time. -
Can Shoulder straps be made out of molded leather!
TK-2126_MD replied to Velcro's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
The last 411 i hear over at the MEPD ( TM) is that the only item used that had Canvas was the belts, the rest was all elastic ( balck and/or White) the straps that connected the Front and back plate were all White elastic and not canvas, as was thought to be...... FYI -
Why paint the inside of the bucket black?
TK-2126_MD replied to Velcro's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Flat..... but i really dont think it would matter........ Hmmmmm ... no either one should do fine. but think flat just in case u are trooping on a sunny day and are doing it on or over pale or light floor, that could catch light...... ( spliting hairs here ) -
Why paint the inside of the bucket black?
TK-2126_MD replied to Velcro's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I agree with Manny, but the reason i did mostly with my secind helmet was that at 6 ft ( Bolivia) i am a gaint ( not really, but there are few ppl my size) and many ppl as they would come to talk could see right up into my helmet, and sooner or later they would say something along the line " hey there stuff in his helmet" or " hey theres the radio that makes him talk like that........ And they would ask if they could see inside the helmet........... Thats why i painted my lid Black. -

HOWTO: Another Fan Setup Tutorial

Very nice, great diagram, pics very good, just one question why? the sliding switches Vs the soft push switches?? Both work and do the same. -
Nice!!!! looking very good. One question what is the original color of ATA lid?
-
LOL it funny how we marvel and dislike the same things, for me i cant stand the symmetrical helmets. then a again my first lid was a FX, on my AP i have a huge bump and like it. At the end of the day it really comes down to if "U" like it or not...... Luis if u don’t like the bump.... send it to me Then again the idea is for your trooper to look “movie” and no to have glaucoma lol ( if u like the bump)
