  1. The guy B-S-ed me pretty well in 2008, I paid for one of the SFS helmets. A mutual aquaintance ended up getting me an ROTJ from him a year later. He told the person he had no intention of fullfilling his end of our arrangement because I was "friend of Chris Peters". It's true Chris and I are buds, but why take my money in the first place then? Had it not been for this mutual aquaintance stepping in I would have nothing to show for my $$$.
  2. DIY forum member here, my mateys in the DIY have talent. You'de be surprised at just how much goes on there aside from "recasting". It's a different attitude altogether. True CAP and TE had an "arrangement", what they won't tell you is TE's version of said arrangement changed from day to day, whim after whim. Well I've had my dealings with ol TE.......................................once bit, twice shy. The rules at DIY are simple. Have a nice time, cut loose, but do not ever start piping up about recasting. That'll get you shut down quicker than goose poo flying through a tin horne. See, "recasting" as you like to call it is old as the hills. What good would it do to curse the day of a guy's birth? He's still been born and is walking the earth? DIY isn't anti 501st, most of us are 501st. How many non501st members have come into 501st forums and started these ugly flamewars? It's why I'm so scarce around here now. Talk about negativity. Well over at DIY we want to concentrate on our thing. If we want drama we'll just take our gals out for a night on the town because they're so good lookin' there's bound to be trouble. Why am I here now talking this smack? I'm a 501st member, loyal and true. I troop, I dig the 501st. That's why I'm here. Get the suit you like and be happy with it. There is no fight except the fight we fight when we wear that suit to stand with our sick friends and fight Cancer, Paulsey, Hunger, and all the hundreds of other crummy things plaguing humanity. These forums used to be a lot more fun back before those outsiders came in and got everyone at each other's throats. We gonna let them win? I may have the CAP molds, but I'm still just good ol Scootch
  3. I'm in possession of the CAP bucks. I'd like to clarify what I have: Armor and faceplate 2005 TE Sandtrooper cap n back modified 2007 TE2 * Stormtrooper bits ie ab buttons and knee plate TM * TD cannister keypad Crashmann * * = to be replaced winter of 09 I do not limit myself to vac-forming trooper stuff exclusively, it is something I do for my friends and aquaintances. To date I've done more scratch build buck making and forming for people outside of Star Wars. I would like to be clear here that I am speaking for myself....... any pieces in my buck stash which are not 2005 TE will be replaced with hand made bucks by myself over the winter before I will offer suits to the 501st. I will not stoop to the lowness others have to report how CAP got the TM, and TE2 parts, I know who and why but it's not important. As far as the helmet I have been given the green light by the 501st to offer it to fellow members as it has been altered / improved. I'll have a new helmet in 2010. Mike is correct that there are so many ANH kits out now the concern should no longer be of "recasting" but more of quality assurance. What is necessary to the future of ANH trooper armor and getting people into it is Quality. Personally I'm more interested in the quality of a product than who has made it.
  4. I like Joe's idea, what's done is done, let's move on. I've promised to do my part to keep the peace. I agree with Marcus that the pages should come down. No good will come of it. The best thing to do is ignore the mole instigators. Nothing else to say about it.
  5. Man that was one good looking suit. I really like how you did the tube stripes.
  6. Nice Rolf! I was just looking at my box of TE2 yesterday and thinking of doing it finally! Strips cut 2,5 cm for the legs, and shins. 2 cm for the bicep. 1,5 cm for the arms. Really makes it look nice. So the Novus will buff it out pretty well huh? interesting. I like your style buddy!
  7. I think I'm going to be here checking the ESB stuff out, I have a suit I want to build ESB. This helmet is a real beauty bro! I too am inspired and can't wait to delve into the ESB Trooper Universe. A true beauty!
  8. I haven't spent much time in the photo archives, I do however think photo archives are extremely important and should be updated regularly......everything else seems great! Keep up the good work!
  9. Looks like a good suit of armor and your methods are liken to mine, nice work and looking very nice so far.
  10. One more look at my prized NGB: Enjoy fellas!
  11. If you have trouble I have an old TE knee plate that I would sell cheap. PM if need be.
  12. Hey buddies I have a really cool NGB, I love it so much that I keep it in my office for my viewing pleasure. I think Smitty's got a good eye for detail, I may just have to start referring to him as "ol Hawkeye". Anyway, regarding the question, CAP doesn't have a prob with being re-cast. He actually encourages it since......... as was stated earlier...........he views it as a "$30.00 piece of plastic" and thus even when shaped into a part, it's still just "$30.00 worth of plastic". 30.00 being a nice round number of course. The idea being if more people knew how dadgummed easy it was to produce plastic armor pieces there'd be a heck of a lot more folks doing it. My opinion of the CAP vs TE and TE2 is (and I own em all) the CAP is superior in overall thickness, sharpness of pull, and quality as his molds are upgraded fairly regularly. Not to slam the other guys who I also happen to enjoy, just making a statement of opinion. Maybe Smitty or one of the other fellas could back me up on that. Back to NGB, The man himself is a friend of mine, his work is pretty cool, so I like it. Also a thick, sharp, quality example of a stormie bucket.
  13. Yeah they're pulled in Glossy plastic. Soon as I sell my Glossy TE I'm gonna try to get one of these, they're freakin spectacular!
  14. Hey Curtis that is a great bunch of pictures buddy! Looking good. I'd like to go out there with you guys one time, it looks like a nice quiet place to goof off.
  15. All you need is to finish the outfit and get photos up buddy, then we'll ask Randy Martinez if he'll do a painting of you, he's an LFL artist. Maybe then it will be canon.
  16. Yeah, 3 sets. Wonder if it will be cool to go with mag pouches in sandie configuration as well.....MP-40 at left breast, and one hip, then another type pouch at the other hip. Hmmmmmmmmmm?
  17. I guess I'll begin with a General Greivous because that's what I happen to have lying around...........probably end up using the electronics out of it. and going from there.
