  1. Aren't you a little.. Hey wait a minute your the right height - so I must be a little tall....
  2. îŒî‹ Happy birthday Paul î‹îŒîŒ’
  3. On my recent build/paint job i used primer first
  4. Totally awesome suit Pete, you are leading the way for a new generation of super accurate stormtrooper replica costumes
  5. Ok so i have now completed my new Empire Strikes Back stormtrooper helmet. This is the best replica helmet i have built yet, and am very pleased with the results. Sorry about the sometimes crappy pictures but the weather here is really bad at the moment, more decent pictures to follow later. Ok this helmet has had 4 coats of paint, grey primer, a green for the hdpe effect; inside and out, white primer and then white gloss. It has plenty of chipped paint, a little glue here and there and i will be weathering this very soon. The helmet is finished using Keith's hovi mic tips, flat green lens, TK 4510 decals and the inside has the star shaped foam liner and elastic chin strap I would like to thank Paul and Pete for their continued support in my ongoing project to have the closest prop replica's.
  6. Ok biceps, shins and thighs have their strapping glued in. I have also added the hovi mic tips, ears are painted and screwed on, neck trim and elastic chin strap fitted
  7. Here is most of the elastic I will be using for the internal strapping. The only items missing are the elastic for the shins and the left side torso
  8. If you need to fill any noticeable gaps from front to back use White plastic for eib application. Any other usage you can use what you like.
  9. Ok here are a few more armourâ„¢ pieces after paint but before rubbing down and polishing. This week I will be weathering and strapping
  10. This suit is painted using halfords appliance white. These are before rubbing down and polishing
  11. Hi David being 1.5 the shoulder bridges are nice and flexible so I just held them in place and ran abs weld around the edges The paint also helps to fill the gap to look super smooth..
  12. Todays work dodging the rain drops ended like this...
  13. I think the paint will be all finished tomoro so stay tuned for an update
  14. Pete your suit looks amazing Now let's see the inside
  15. My main motivate for everything armour related is screen accuracy But as someone pointed out to me recently - how can something be screen accurate when it's not seen on screen? Like the interior of a helmet for instance?
  16. The elastic is either 3/4 or 1 inch wide attached to the ear screws. Their are 1 snaps on one side and 2 on the other for adjustment. Use 15mm snaps knickle coloured. How long? Long enough to overlap and do up under your chin. The elastic is doubled over at the ear and for the snaps.
  17. Ok for the last couple of weeks I've been working on a new more accurate ESB build. This will be as close to the originals as I can manage. I have most of the arms and legs built so will be finishing the rest of the armour this week. Here is how the armour was after 5 hours of trimming.. I had help building the lid from StukaTrooper and here it is. This is the best looking helmet I've had yet..
  18. You cannot compare these two kits, one is a fan sculpt and one has lineage to a movie suit. It should be closer to the later...
  19. All the armour was strapped the same. One size fits all, no adjustment. Any cut outs at the back of the knees was carried out by the actors.
  20. Very nice collection of helmets
  21. All the armour in the films was built and fitted in the same way. The only thing which was different was the close up v back ground helmets and the holster attachment to accommodate the weight of a sterling being carried.
  22. There are many different types of plastic, gloss hips that will not require paint, Matt hips that will. Also gloss abs that will not need paint and Matt abs that will. I'm working on an abs suit that will need paint. It's very easy to work with and easy to cut. I've also built 3 abs suits that did not need paint. Again very easy to work with. And I've built suits from hips, that again were easy to trim and needed paint. I would do more research and look at what level of work you want to put it to it.
