  1. You have some fitment issues, but nothing major. that right thigh needs to be brought up and evened out with your left, and the TD should be centered to your back. Your chest plate should overlap the abs, it looks like it is sitting right on top as your back and kidneys should sit. There is slight gap in your back and kidneys that should be tightened up. Some other issues will need to be addressed for L3, but for EIB your really close. shouldn't need too much and should be super simple to fix. Drop boxes needing to be tightened up and moved to the edge of the ammo belt. may need to tighten up the gap between the shoulders and the bridge. Ab buttons (Painted) look like they might be a little too big, but cant really tell. and I cant tell but is the thigh ammo belt rounded at the back corner or at a 45 degree angle, might just be the photo. also just curious if you have walked around in this armor to get a feel for it, or have trooped in it yet. I feel you may want to take the return off the butt, or at least at the crouch area. you have some pretty sharp looking points that may not be so nice on a troop. Keep up the good work, armor looks awesome! cant wait to see you at EIB, then Centurion after that!
  2. yeah of this I have no doubt. just a knit picky thing for me.
  3. If I may, from what I can tell your armor looks great! but...that insignia needs to be bigger, and moved down the shoulder about 2 inches. based on the reference photo you are using. Also that white line around the emblem is throwing me off. that should be red around the edge right? For a Basic approval this should work, hoping that we can get it added to the CRL. but in order to get it to match, IMO, it needs to be bigger and moved. keep up the good work! and keep us posted
  4. Looking much better. For L3 it states, back shall have NO, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. this will ultimately be up to Tony and Joseph on what they want to except, but for Basic your just fine. The shoulder straps look great, although they may be a tad uneven, but that's just a knit picky thing. I also must agree with @lucnak, your forearms look a bit too long, you may want to take some off the elbow end in order for them to sit without siding under your hand plates. Ideally you will have an even amount of spacing between your hands and forearms, and forearms and biceps. on shorter troopers this is a little bit of a kick to mess with, but in the end will help with the "esthetic" of the trooper. and for your question about the wrist plate, if you add that second strap it should keep in right were it should be. Not sure you need to do anything else to it. Keep up the good work, you will be there before you know it.
  5. Also remember that this is all Volunteer, so rushing them wont do much good. i know you have a push, and maybe get in contact with the GML over FB or something and talk to them, they maybe able to help you out. but you will be in good hands, Jason is good people!
  6. Thanks lol. I find some people are better visual learners and having the step by step can help.
  7. @TK 71627 hope this helps! This is how my rigging looks My straps are glued here and here Snaps here: And here: (Note-I do not undo these straps when i am putting my armor on) I open the side up (right side) Slide the armor on from left to right Over my shoulder and over my head Then down onto my body and snap the side closed! Now i must add a disclaimer here. I put my legs and boot on first. then my torso parts. I initially was going to make it so that I could put everything on then the chest. but find this route much easier. some people will glue both front and back of the left strap (side of the wearer with rivets) and only leave snaps on the front of the right side, this can work too with this process. biggest thing you will learn about this hobby is there are a ton of ways to do something, you just have to find out what works best for you! good luck trooper and keep us posted on what you find and how you fix any issues, you could be helping the next trooper out!
  8. yes i can. give me a few and ill snap some. I just put my armor up and need to pull it back out
  9. you really shouldnt be fitting your armor without your under suit on. shirts and any other clothing arent going to allow you to size the armor properly. Just my advice
  10. Probably looks that way because of the phone. it might be on the right but due to the way the camera was used its flipped
  11. looks great! the one thing that is literally sticking out to me (besides your hair) is your hand plates. If I may suggest, take a thin (1 inch or smaller) piece of elastic and secure it as you did with the hand guards, at the wrist end, to keep it from flaring up like that. this will also help to keep your forearms from sliding under the hand plates. as for you question about the shoulder straps remember that the approval is based largely on how the armor fits the wearer. you may be able to take the large bump plus 2 or 3 more small bumps off it. not sure as far as L2/L3 is concerned, i dont remember seeing anything other than how they are secured. For the thighs, does the color match exactly? if you can tell even a little bit you might get it kicked back. then you would have to paint the entire armor. but it should be fine. Looks great, keep up the awesome work! one last thing, your chest armor flares out quite a bit. Do you have it secured on the backside?
  12. i wander if we allow overlap and such, if more people will go for ROTJ? A ton of ANH troopers out there, the ROTJ would be a good "next step" for when their armor is beat up. with those rivets and "fixes" they may be able to turn the kit into something other than a TD, maybe? I am the same. really i dont care either way. I say make it optional. I stated somewhere that i feel there should be 3 cases of a change in order for it to be considered, well both troopers in your photo have returns, so where might the 3rd be lol
  13. so what is your setup if you dont mind me asking. The speakers arent bad for the hearing device just arent as good as headphones. and the mic i would really like to not have a cord running down my neck
  14. Ok, so this is probably really simple and im way over thinking this, but maybe someone with this setup can help me. I want to run a Bluetooth headphone system to my hearing assist, and a Bluetooth mic for my Troopertalk/Aker 1506. My question is simply, can I do this? Can I put a transmitter on the hearing assist, and a receiver on the amp, and be able to operate them without those systems trying to talk to each other? if I only pair the headphones to the Transmitter, and the mic to the receiver I should be good right?
  15. Good point. I actually thought this was about the rivets. but understand how things get going on other things lol
  16. I was getting feedback so I added foam in the helmet, it helped out a ton! Also, the mic sits at the bridge of my nose. those mics don't need to be at your mouth as long as the mic is directed the right way. the feedback can be caused from the noise bouncing off the inside of the helmet and back into the mic
  17. I say yes...but to what degree. Maybe "some return edge may remain at the ridge" or spin or whatever name it is for that part of the armor
  18. Tony, here is the Etsy transaction #1429394354. ordered from you on May 1st of this year. just in case there are any issues. I can also try and take a better photo if need be
  19. My wife was the exact same way lol. I would be turned around for a picture and feel a tug, then reset for the photo again and feel a tug somewhere else. lol. she wanted my cover strips on point, nothing a mm off. for the most part everything went smooth. but I felt you was being more aggressive with it than I would have been. but when I make it to Centurion it will be owed to her eye for detail
  20. The screws I am using were sent to me by either @justjoseph63 or @ukswrath, I ordered a set from Joseph and Tony sent some with his TD clips, so I believe they are L3, might just be the angle of the photo
  21. The only "yearly change" I suggested would be that of the person in the photo. And if the person is held to the same standard, why would anyone complain. it would be set up like any other award, there would be criteria and it awarded by the members of this admin. Changing to photo shouldn't really matter to anyone as long as that photo is held to the same standard as all other photos. if the photo is there to help with basic approval then you aren't really having any other expectations of the costume itself than to be just that, basic. But if you add the fact that someone can be awarded the honor of being that reference photo, its kinda cool. To be able to display your work to the entire community, let alone be the bases of which others copy. I know it would probably be difficult to do, but nominations and such should go with it. again it was just a suggestion, I haven't been around long so im still learning the ends and outs. hope to be high ranking one day and do justice to the franchise we all know and love.
  22. Oh ok gotcha! Thanks. what was the lead time? and Cost if you don't mind me asking?
