  1. You need to pull your biceps up about 2 inches. and trim the return edge off the shoulders
  2. Jose, is this your TD? the clips were in the right location for the most part, just needed to be moved back a little. now you have them a good inch away from the end cap, which for Centurion they must be little to no gap between the clip and the end cap. Also I do not believe those screws are the proper screws required for Centurion.
  3. Honestly you may need that Cod piece there to test fit. your gonna have pinching issues if your keep them that high, imo
  4. Found someone that was highly recommended by a fellow Swamp trooper, and his price was exactly where i wanted to be! but...I will be getting a machine from my grandmother, who has sewed every costume ive had since i was 1, and will be learning from her, so ill be doing my own stuff some day!
  5. Simple one for the GML. easy basic. like the others have said, small issues here and there but we will tackle them and get you to Centurion! Cant wait to call you TK. Now get those photos submitted!!!!
  6. Ill PM you. Still waiting on a response from him to see if he would even do it
  7. Just got info from another Swamp Trooper who said the guy he got his from fits perfect, and was less than 100, so might go that route and save myself the trouble. But i DO need to learn to sew, could save myself a lot of money in the end
  8. hmmmm.....I am worried about the angle of your shoulder bridges, there is gonna be a lot of stress on that part of the armor, and they are already prone to breaking. Just use caution with them The rivet requirement doesnt change from L2 to L3, and it says in L2 that a Double Cap Rivet is ok.
  9. would you say it was something a beginner could tackle? im on the pathfinders forum now looking at the boot tutorial. pretty awesome info there
  10. Hey all, I am currently working on a TX Swamp trooper, and was wondering if anyone has done a cummerbund themselves? either for a swampy or for a TB or anything that has this piece? I want to start sewing and this may be something to try and do on my own, but wondered if anyone out there has done one. i am on the Spec Ops forums but its kinda dead over there, and with only being 10 Swampys, its kinda hard to connect, Thanks all!
  11. CRL allows for minimal overlap? so im confused. I have always seen the NO Gap commented on the apps. so im confused. if the overlap is not wanted, it should be removed from the CRL OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. AM v1 back plate must be replaced with a more screen accurate version.
  12. That's why I am here. If you have any other questions please ask. only dumb question is one not asked, so no matter what it is, please get the right answer. UKswrath is on Etsy so check it out. or you can contact him here, either way you cant go wrong!
  13. This made me laugh so hard. They don't care about us or our thoughts. (or so it seems) I'm sorry but the inconsistency is evident by the movies being released. one movie builds this character up, and the next throws it away and calls is nothing...I hate it. I don't trust anything they say. its sad. the fan base is your money, idc what they think. and having the mentality that we (the fan base) have an opinion that doesn't matter, is going to get this franchise ban to the outer rim...its scary to know I could see the true death of Star Wars in my life time...
  14. That's awesome! if you want to make it super easy on yourself, @ukswrath sales the clips with the screen accurate and Centurion approved screws needed. I have them and absolutely love them.
  15. that second link go to page 3 of the photos I believe it is. that is where they actually take a measuring gauge to the clips
  16. check out these photos of the screen used stuff. shows the clips just over an inch in width http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/51-thermal-detonator/ and http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/59-the-rs-suit/
  17. hmmm., movis spec is over an inch (I believe UKswrath has them listed at 1 1/16"), Just curious why you want accurate thickness but not width?
  18. When you lay the pieces out like this that can happen. What I did was I held both the back and kidney together as they should sit on my body, the back piece with lean outward, and then taped (Both sides) with blue tape to keep it in place. I then marked where I was going to put my snaps, once snaps are installed it should stay there. there may be slight overlap at the corners but that's ok. the thing you DONT WANT is the gap.
  19. Couple things, first off on your shoulders, that snap should be sitting right up against your bell. what is gonna happen with them where they are is that your shoulder are going to pull away from your body and cause gapping between the shoulders and the bridge, this is a big deal when it comes to higher levels of approval. Second, I think your chest can actually come down a little. Not sure if you have put your bucket on with that torso or not, but you will realize that you have little visibility, and looking down is almost impossible, every bit of movement you can get out of your armor is key, with your chest "Neck" sitting that close to your neck, your wont be able to tilt your head down at all, and your bucket will be popping your chest armor. you could probably bring it down about an inch or so. With the straps, you really shouldn't have any issue with alignment. I don't really see anything "sticking out" and once the elastic is there, you will be able to line up the plastic straps right over them. also, you will have a 1/4 inch piece of elastic that "ties" your plastic strap to the elastic one, so they will keep each other in line. You may have some pull on the elastic from the shoulder bell connection, but not so much that its crazy exposed.
  20. @Actionsdower, Go this route if you cant sew, or if its one of those, "ill just youtube it" things, I wouldn't trust a first time stitch on something that is gonna take that much stress.
  21. That was my thought exactly about the air flow, and true, I did an outdoor troop and hand no issues with "heat" on my body, the air circulated really well. So all the return edges I trimmed where the "crouch" front and back, the thighs top and bottom, the calves bottom, the biceps, forearms, and the neckline front and back. everything else stayed. the post and kidney lines up really well. I like having the return edge there because it insures no "slipping" of the kidney or post to pop out. One other reason I like the room is I have been thinking about a "cold shirt" to run some cold water to circulate, but this is just a dream as of yet, but the extra room will allow me the availability if able. Only thing I would say about possibility of trimming the sides, is only do it if you can be sure you wont gain the weight back. last thing you really want to do is trim it down, put on 15 to 20 lbs, and then have crazy gaps. just a thought of course
  22. All this sounds great. for your #7. take some of the ABS that you trimmed off something, a piece of "waste" so to speak, and practice the return edges with that. For now, trim the forearm down for the issues its causing, and work on perfecting your ability to create a return edge. then when you are comfortable with it, BAM! but remember you will lose some more length with creating a return, so account for that when you trim. Last thing you want to do is to take off enough, but then the return edge makes them too short. Your are doing great work, keep it up. Remember, its a marathon, not a sprint. you are doing fine and have no need to rush! your closer than you think.
