  1. Pretty common in the States. Drop and run is the SOP. The nice ones ring the bell first.
  2. No need to be confused, Daniel, I've got enough of that for both of us. Now I just need to get out of this office so I can make sure it's on the right porch! Hopefully my next post will be a picture of a BBB.
  3. Oh, USPS, you vex me so... This morning I get an email (after I'd written to Mark about a missing box) telling me that they expected to deliver my BBB... yesterday! Then I get an email telling me they tried to deliver it... while I was home last night. Really need a head-against-the-wall smiley right now.
  4. And for the love of Vader cut away from you, not towards you.
  5. You won't catch me dead in fiberglass anything, but that's just me.
  6. Frank the dentist!
  7. I thought I'd make a placeholder here to remind myself to keep in touch. My BBB is expected tomorrow but due to the impulse nature of the purchase I am completely unprepared to begin. I'm going to roll around in ABS this weekend and start ordering tools and bits, and hopefully my feline overlord won't object. (She may look like a stormtrooper but her soul is pure Sith.)
  8. Looking forward to following both you and Greg on your journeys. My AP is supposed to arrive Thursday but I'm way behind the curve in prep. Danged impulse buys!
  9. This reminds me of my own internal conversations watching ANH recently (it only had a two-word title when I saw it the first times, btw); right at the beginning this trooper goes by with no TD and I’m like, “why do I have to get all nit-picky about screw heads?” But as I watched the film, and read the various threads here, I realized it was about an ideal. All the 501st are well-done, some are just highly detailed. I definitely want mine to turn out well-done. At the least.
  10. $600 for 2 kits? My TGTBT alarm is going off...
  11. Nice! I’ll be following closely and taking notes for my own AP build.
  12. Thanks for the wishes. I’m grateful for time off that I’m spending with family.
  13. Hey Dan, A great primer coat for MDF is white glue thinned to a (foam) brushable consistency. Don't get it too thin as water will make MDF swell. A couple coats with 220 grit sanding in between and you should have a solid surface to paint.
  14. Did the BBB get put in a closet and forgotten?
  15. I have to get a wife? I'll go with the neck pouch...
