Freduster replied to Lupus1202's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Wolfgang! Any updates on the armor? It has been pretty quiet in this thread for quite some time, I had to check if I accidentally unfollowed it All good? -
Glad you managed to get to Centurion as well we got EIB and Centurion approved pretty much the same week

Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
Freduster replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Cheers Dan! At one point during my build you were the guy who started his blaster build pretty much at the same time as me, and I have followed both your blaster and armour build very closely. At some point I though I might be able to catch up to you - basic member, EI, Centurion, Attaché... Now I'm finally there - and you've managed to get into the detachment staff well, I guess you'll always be one step ahead of me Thanks for everything, your threads (and YouTube videos ) have provided a ton of valuable information for me! -
Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
Freduster replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
And the ultimate goal has been achieved thanks to everyone who followed me until now and supported me whenever I was in trouble! It feels really weird to know that now is the time where I can't really do more for my TK.. Apart from two smaller adjustments that still need to be done, and maybe one day I might get a DLT-19 if I ever get bored of my trusty E-11 (will probably never happen ). So for now, I am looking forward to lots of troops and I'll also save some money for now - but the next costume is already in sight Thanks for standing by and reading, Freddy -

Phlopsy's ANH TK Build Thread (RS Armor Kit)

I had the same problem, so I looked at other builds and just thought about what strapping part I could use where, and I ended up with this list: 1. correct, I used them for my belt boxes, wrapped the whole thing around the belt and secured it with a rivet, and then glued the two bottom ends together and the drop box on top of that 2. also correct, I didn't end up using them because on here I saw lots of velcro solutions that I liked better, but if you want to use this method, you've got the correct parts at hand 3. correct, I replaced the massive buttons in the middle after my first troop because they weren't really sitting secure anymore, so I reinforced the spot with some spare strap and put a new snap in there 4. you might be right there, I can't remember using them for anything specific, I might have just cut them into pieces that I needed (at this point I should probably add that I used the practical popper method and not the original strapping. Not sure if you decided on that already, if not, you should 5. same as 4 6. yup, used them to strap the thighs to the belt (no. 10) but since there was so much of it left afterwards I also used these parts for the inner strapping along the seams between ab and kidney plate 7. didn't end up using them 8. same as 7 9. same as 7 10. correct 11. same as 7 12. same as 7 I hope this has been somewhat helpful, in case you want visual support of my method, this is a pic of my inner strapping: Freddy -
Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)

Alright friends, as my final trick I just submitted my Centurion application, and the day was also topped off by a birthday cake my girlfriend made me today. Thought I might share a picture of that as well as it's kinda forum-related.. (you can also tell she helped me with lots of my build by the details she managed to put into this cake ) Thanks for reading, thanks for following! Freddy -

Hey Sven, just stumbled across your build, and I can only join my fellow troopers and say you did a really good job so far If you need advice on how to cut the backs of thighs and shins you could have a look at my build if you like, I had the same problem (same goes for the ammo belt, but as I can see you have solved this problem a lot better than me). Not long now and we can welcome another TK to the German Garrison, and it's great to hear you're planning on going the extra mile to EIB and Centurion - from what I saw in your build you're already building towards it, so once you're approved there shouldn't be much that'll need correction. So keep it up!

Well, the Centurion sadly will have to wait a few more days, but this weekend I'll get the pics and the application in, I promise -

Freduster replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Well, I managed to get pretty much everything done that was on the "Things to fix before Centurion" list today, and with @justjoseph63's screws arriving just in time I can hand in my Centurion application at last! I hope I can get everything done tomorrow, but since I still have a room to stock that needed floor replacement I can't promise I will be able to stay on schedule. Well, thanks for reading as always! TK 92891 Reporting for Duty
Freduster replied to trixim's topic in Newly Approved Members - Sound Off!
Welcome to the FISD, now as a full member My first official troop was only a month ago as well, but I already got so many hugs and so many people wanted pictures - this justified my year of work within three hours -
Hey Jesse! I simply removed everything from the smaller lens except for the two lenses and the black plastic tube connecting them and just glued the whole thing into the scope front. Certainly not the nicest option (especially if you look at how nicely everyone else managed to do it) as you will end up with a little black circle around the lens at the front (not sure if I included any pictures of that in my build thread), but this can only be seen if you look very closely. So it's kind of a trade-off between love for details and the desire to finally be done with the scope

Phlopsy's ANH TK Build Thread (RS Armor Kit)
Freduster replied to Phlopsy's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hi Andrew! Seeing a raw RS kit reminds me of the time when I started my own armor build As Rat already mentioned it's always better to start with calves that are too long - shortening them later is always easier than extending.. Once you have your boots and the thighs ready, you can still shorten them if they need to be. This was actually the last step in my build. I think I started with the arms as they are quite independent from the rest of the armor, not sure where everyone else started, but I felt this was a decent point to start as the step included trimming, glueing and magnets/clamps. As the others already said, post pictures of your progress and if you need help, don't hesitate to ask! Welcome to FISD from my side as well! -
Hey Paul! First of all, welcome aboard! In case you find out that a fully commissioned armor is too expensive (which was the case for me), there is always the self-build option. A year ago when I started my builds (first blaster and then armor) I had pretty much zero experience with cosplaying, prop making and basically crafting in general. But there are so many useful builds, so many useful videos and so many people giving just the advice you need that anyone can do it! Also, if any part of your armor ever breaks (which will hopefully never happen) you will know exactly how to fix it because you built it all together in the first place. Once again, welcome to FISD and may you find the best armor for yourself and a vendor for it too

Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
Freduster replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Right, after my EIB application was successful, it is now time to prepare the armor for Centurion Thank the Emperor lots of FISD members pointed out things that I could change to improve the overall look and wearability of the armor as well as things that I will have to change for Centurion. Well, time to get started! I'm not sure how fast I can put up progress (or result) pictures, but I'll do my best and get going! -

AWESOME, thanks a lot I am already looking forward to seeing that pretty blue badge below my name once I've posted this reply So just to clarify - for Centurion I will need to change the things that are listed in the Centurion Suggestions right? I really don't want to remove the ears again as i feel like the helmet might just fall apart.. But the Centurion suggestions all look pretty manageable, so I shall get going this weekend hopefully. And once that is done, Centurion application is calling @T-Jay i hope you're right, my next event is another Reads Day in Herne on November 16th, so put yourself on the list and I will see you there

Hey FISD! It feels like it's only been a couple of weeks since I set up my account here, but in fact it's been pretty much a whole year. I'm all cleared now and working towards EIB and Centurion right now. Had my first official troop today and what can I say - it was just straight amazing To see that all the effort (and money) I put into this project has paid off was an awesome experience for me, and meeting @T-Jay in person who supported me massively during my E-11 build was great fun as well. Now I'm looking forward to my next event already, and merch is on the way as well Thanks for reading, Freddy (TK-19511)
