  1. Congrats on your BBB day!! Looks awesome!!!
  2. I'm not sure if you have come across this build yet, but I found it pretty helpful for my first build. I didn't build an AM kit, bit there is still a lot of good info for anyone.
  3. Oh, nevermind. I looked up and saw your pics. I can't remember why the AM kit has the two belts.
  4. Do you have some pictures? I'll do my best to answer without pics Yes, the belt gets the square rivet covers. If you have round ones, those might be the large ab buttons for a sandtrooper. Two ABS belts? Are they the same size? Shoulder bridges - yep, use the one with ridges. I'm not sure what the other ones are. Hand plates - yes, the curved ones are for ESB. The slotted - or cheese grater - ones are for some sandtroopers. They used both the traditional ANH hand plates and the cheese grater ones. Hope that helps
  5. Congratulations! Now the fun part can begin!
  6. Congrats Freddy! Check out the build section - find someone else who has recently completed a RS build. Also check out the Centurion and EIB applications for great reference images. And ask questions and take lots of pictures. Research, measure twice, research some more, ask a few questions, measure again, and slowly cut.
  7. Oh, the tube stripe police. Looks great, Jenny. You have already received some great advice here for improving the fit of the armor, but you should be good for basic approval as is. The issue with the ab and kidney not lining up and even the back/kidney/posterior connection being a little loose looking are not uncommon. I had the exact same issue. I had to redo the strapping - I found thicker nylon webbing and I moved the snap bases closer to the edges. I also added extra nylon webbing (glued it in) along the left kidney/ab connection. I made a slot and tab for the right side. I also had to hot bath the posterior to get rid of the "butt flare" that commonly happens. As was mentioned before, you might want to cut out the backs of the thighs and knees for mobility - but... it looks like you may be able to trim some more material off the tops of your thighs and pull them up a bit (if you can). It is hard not seeing the armor first hand, but I think that would make for a nicer looking fit in the knee area. Plus the top of your thighs are pretty close to your posterior plate at the back - this can make walking around more difficult. Again, great job! You did a fantastic job sizing down this armor.
  8. It is optional. Optional Accessories Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
  9. Everything is looking great!! Keep up the awesome job!
  10. blue wire around the tube greeblie on the barrel? And be sure to dirty-up the sling. Looks great!!
  11. Nice! That makes me want to get going on mine!
  12. If you are planning to buy a KB kit, you might be out of luck. My understanding is that they are out of the business. Maybe read this...
  13. Congrats on BBB day!! Good luck on your build.
  14. Hey Jim, your frustration is very understandable, but all is not lost. Yeah, I agree with what Luc said. If you pulled the ABS shoulder bridges off and positioned them a little further up on your chest, that may give you a little more give for your chest to come down over your ab. Hot water bathing your bridges so they curve down at the back and using elastic to secure should fix them. Your right thigh should be a quick fix - it appears that it just needs to come up a little. The back of your shins appear to be overlapping - only the coverstrip should overlap with the other side - but I can't be certain from the photo. Lose any return edge on your shoulder bells and tighten the elastic that wraps around your bicep - this will bring your shoulder bell in a little. Some bigger guys reshape the bells with a hot water bath so the fit around the biceps better. The elastic (or nylon) from the bell to the shoulder strap needs to be shortened a bit too and brought forward a touch. The AP bells are a bit small for bigger guys, but you can reduce some of the black in the area. I've seen a few people not pull the cod/butt up enough. It doesn't look like that is the issue here, but I just thought I would mention it. And like Randy mentioned, there is the idea of adding shims. These are all very doable things (the shims are a bit tougher but totally possible). Many of these things you can do pretty quickly with some advice from other troopers here on FISD, but hopefully we can get you in contact with someone local to help out first hand. And, for the most part, your armour looks great!
  15. Congrats! Nice work! Welcome to the ranks.
  16. I'll add this here too... Cheers
  17. It's coming along awesome, Daniel! It looks so clean and perfect - you'll have to fix that
  18. Hey Dan, I just realized that this is posted in two different areas (here and in the ANH build section). Is that on purpose or by accident?
  19. Oh Dan, I'm not too proud to contribute here. I put the paint templates (roughly fashioned after the Dave M helmet and available from TrooperBay) on the wrong sides of my bucket. In many cases, these links are to the first of many consecutive posts. Here is me screwing up my templates like a total idiot: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/43437-wooks-first-build-anh-stunt-tk-ap/?do=findComment&comment=589733 Here is me getting called on it (Looking at you, Dan ) https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/43437-wooks-first-build-anh-stunt-tk-ap/?do=findComment&comment=592275 Here is me fixing the issue: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/43437-wooks-first-build-anh-stunt-tk-ap/?do=findComment&comment=594834 And Dan, if I do this again, I fully expect you to call me on it immediately.
  20. So... did you get the trimmed kit? "What's in the box!"
  21. The Tube Stripe Police strikes again!! Jameson, it might be the angle of the pic making it look worse than it is. Like Dan said, 99% of people will not notice - Dan is the 1% in this case. I did the same thing, but with the paint templates.
  22. Looks good! I don't see anything holding you back from your approval. I think Glen (and yourself) already covered anything I could see. Good luck!
  23. I allowed for just a few mm of overhang on mine - but I'm not sure what the norm is. Many of the screen shots from ANH look like the front wraps around the knuckles a bit - IMO. At the end of the day, it is the amount of black that is showing at the wrist vs the elbow that will be scrutinized during approval. The location of the hand guard will affect that somewhat. See how it looks with everything else on - but, I have a feeling you will be fine.
  24. Congrats, Daniel. Another excellent job!
