  1. Well done, Ross. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi all, Managed to squeeze in an hour last night. Carried on with the grip by removing the fake screw underneath and replacing with a real one. A little annoying I don't have a pillar drill - the hole for the thread to settle into isn't perfectly straight/perpendicular, but I think I've just about got away with it. :-) Also started removing the excess resin from the end cap. 3. Hiya. A bit more work this eve. Tidied up the holes on the underside using a 9/10mm (approx) Dremel sander. Still some final tidying to do, including the different shaped one where the folding stock would mount. Also removed the fake bolts from the folding stock and replaced with carriage bolts (not solidly fitted yet). As I don't have a precise measure for circular objects, I decided to use an adjustable spanner, measure the outside of the object, then measure the spanner gap. Cheers, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on your build, Jesse. :-)
  5. Cheers guys. It looks like approx 1mm across the whole surface so I'll just carefully work to remove the excess. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Cheers, Chris. You're correct with Ross using single 15mm poppers throughout. I'll see how it goes when I start moving about. It's a nice easy addition should certain areas need it. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hi Brad, Many thanks for the tip. I'll certainly look to do that on the more stressed areas, if not all. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Evening all, I'm pleased to say that I've started on my E-11 build. Fire up the Dremel!! I'm roughly following the order of the E-11 reference PDF, so started with the "lock/free" screw. Then moved on to drilling the extra holes on the underside. And just for fun... Learning lots about how tools and resin react. Learning curve and all that. On a different note, the end cap has a very shiny face, perhaps where it came out of a mould. I'll put pics below - any tips on how to tidy it up, please? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Looks like a solid start, Kris. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi all, Whilst the armour build continues, I've also been testing my TRamp (Trooper Amp) system. It's very good and SOO simple to use. Apologies for my limited quotes and bad American accent. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hi all, As my armour is very close to completion, I cleared (believe me, its better than it was) a work space ready for my blaster build. I've prepared a whole compliment of Dremel accessories, files, brand new set of drill bits, etc. and my completion kit from Tino. Respirator and safety googles at the ready also. Can't wait to start!!! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi all, Almost managed kitting up on my own yesterday, only for the right shoulder strap to pop off. Otherwise, seems to be a good plan to keep the left shoulder and bicep attached, then fit right arm as a complete piece, the fit the left forearm. Thighs are in progress, then shins. Received the last piece of the puzzle yesterday, namely my neck seal from ISD. I think I was a bit generous with my measurements so it's a little bit. With the balaclava and armour on though, it looks okay. Kitted up last night, including TRamp, and my 5yr old daughter LOVED IT!! Such and excited, happy face to see a Stormtrooper up close. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Cheers, Chris. I appreciate the tips. I had the arms complete as a sleeve yesterday but couldn't reach my left arm across to "snap" my right shoulder bell to the bridge strap. I'm tempted to try the left shoulder bell and bicep connected before putting on the body - then attach the whole right arm as a complete piece (hopefully having flexibility as the left arm is not complete) - then attach the left forearm. Lots of experimenting to do. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hello everyone. Exciting times - most of my strapping is complete, including the arms now connected to the shoulder straps. I kitted up to measure the gap between the chest and back (over the shoulder) and this came in at 2cm. Used masking tape to cover my 2cm gap and then measured up the white nylon webbing. The ab to chest straps were not finished for these pics. Also, the cod to butt strap is also not done yet. It feels great to wear. Just need to practice my mobility and get used to the movements required when suited up. Managed to get most of this on by myself. Just couldn't reach the second arm to attach it to the shoulder strap - (wife to the rescue). :-) To anyone reading that is on-the-fence of whether to take the plunge and build a TK kit, my advise would be ........ DO IT!!!!!! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, Been working away in my strapping. Also cleared a decent work space in my shed ready for my blaster build. Don't want to get piles of resin dust all over the kitchen table!! ;-) I now have the ab/kidney/butt/ back connected. Will be working in the shoulder connection tonight (chest to back). I also plan to glue the front of the thighs and shins this evening. I can then start sizing them up. Here's some progress pics. Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Evening all, Getting closer now. Strapping is well underway. Most of my popper bases are now gluing. Run out of clamps now so I'll be doing the rest tomorrow. [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Whoop!! One of my last expected deliveries - and it's a good one. I have just received my TRamp. I've had a quick play and it seems really good. Will give it a proper test later and report back. For those that haven't seen it before, it's essentially an Aker speaker/amp with all the clever stuff built in. In built audio loops, many voice presets and loops for TK, Vader, Fett, droids etc... Comes with two mics, USB charging cable, strap, 3.5 to 3.5mm jack (not actually required for this setup, just comes with the aker I think), and I opted for the remote version. This allows samples to be triggered, static bursts on request, volume adjustment etc., or you can just talk through it and enjoy the trademark pops and bursts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Brad, you were spot on regarding sanding paper/block. I've hardly used the Dremel for the armour build. It might come in more helpful for my resin blaster build. :-)
  19. Great post by Aaron. I second the pliers. I managed to mangle a split rivet within a popper (approx 4mm tall) - left less room to get under the 'arms' of the rivet but it came out okay in the end. :-)
  20. Thought I'd better take a break from self-indulgent troopering and do some chores.... ...so I did the washing up instead... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Many thanks, Shane. It's so enjoyable I'm squeezing in every minute I can!! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Good evening all, More work on the belt tonight. My set of tools arrived so I could fit the poppers to the ab. Poppers for belt-ab connection Single cap rivets holding ammo pack to belt Measuring for holster connections E6000 to glue drop boxes and belt tabs. More to come soon. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hi all, Been steadily working away, this time on the belt. Marked everything up and drilled the holes in the ammo belt. Then used a 3.5mm punch for the holes in the fabric belt itself. Need to wait for my proper punch tools to arrive to fit the poppers to the ab. Please note: I initially put the wrong popper base through the ab - the correct one (with the RWA strapping kit) is the more fancy popper base on the left. Here's the tools I was recommended for the poppers. Best wishes, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi all, Got a couple of hours today. Started working on the drop boxes and ab plates. For anyone new to this, I was advised a 15mm total thickness for the drop boxes. 12mm for the internal part of the drop box. Then moved on to the ab plate. Advised approx 2 - 3mm left showing surrounding the plate. Needs a little tidying. Also trimmed the tabs for the belt. Also, sanded away the return edge on the wrists. Probably just a little more to go for Centurion. Any feedback welcomed. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. That looks SUPERB!! I'll be studying your thread before I start my build. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
