Afternoon folks. A good shout by many on the Homebase 145ltr storage box. £12.99 is a bargain. For those that haven't seen it, it's big, has four wheels and a clip on lid. Apart from my lid and blaster, everything else is in there with lots of space to spare. Complete left arm and left shin are inside the left thigh. Same for the right. I could probably squeeze my lid in there but will find a decent bag or cover first. Think I'll build a little box to to sit under the armour to house my soft goods, TRamp etc. Also, we've had different sets of friends over on Sat and Sun and, thankfully, both asked me to kit up. I'm really pleased with how kitting up is becoming easier and I'm feeling better and better in the armour. Movement is coming on dramatically, including walking. Much fun :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Jesse, Not saying its the right way to do it, but, I just made the hole in the folding stock large enough to take the square. As coach bolts usually have a nut at the back, which can't really be done here, I'll be gluing the coach bolt thread into the body (when I'm happy with where everything sits etc). :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CableGuy's DoopyDoos (feat. T-Jay kit) ANH E-11 WIP
CableGuy replied to CableGuy's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Hi all, Booked an afternoon off work today and made some decent progress. Here's some highlights: Started by working on the rear sight as I really wanted to test fit the scope rail. Decided I wanted to screw the rear sight to the barrel, so cleared a space inside to allow the screw head to hide under the scope rail. Test run with scope before drilling into the body. Then moved on to the magazine housing. Quite a simple fitting there. Started preparing the scope for attaching to the rail. Lucky I double checked where to drill - the mounts on the bottom of the scope aren't quite central. And that brings us up to date. On to something that didn't quite work. How does one bend aluminium without it snapping? Any tips on shaping, too? Many thanks, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Rivsta's 1st ANH TK Stunt build [emoji869]

Welcome, James. Another RWA trooper in the making. I look forward to following your build. :-) Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Evening all Completed my waist belt straps for the thighs this evening. Kitted up for a few pics. I've not fitted poppers to the back of the shins yet, (as I'm still waiting for my second batch of boot dye to arrive), hence the shin twisting significantly with even the slightest movement. The thighs need some tweaking too as they didn't quite sit straight. Holster wasn't fully poppered either. Getting there. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CableGuy replied to CableGuy's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Cheers Jesse. I appreciate the feedback and advice. :-) I'm currently in the "trial fitting" stage. I think I'm likely to glue quite near the end, once I know where and how everything fits together. Also, painting might be easier with separate parts - for metallic and plastic appearance. And yes - I'm really enjoying it!! Just need more hours in the day. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Hi folks, Made some decent progress this evening. I wanted to attach the grip before I carried on with the trigger. Sizing up, leaving the gap between the grip and the mount for the folding stock. (Cute touch - "Doopydoos" and a smiley face on the grip) More to come. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hiya. I went gloss for my first lid and satin for the second. Personally, I prefer the satin as it looks a little more 'used', like the screen shots etc. If I read correctly, I think the originals may have been gloss, but with the beating they took, you'd never know. Lol Here's a pic comparing my lids, gloss vs satin. Although the lighting is different, you can still see a marked difference between the two. To my knowledge, gloss or stain won't affect your Centurion submission. (Mine is satin and I'm aiming for Centurion, so I hope satin is okay) :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Many thanks, Rob. Better to know now and spread the word to other prospective UKG folk. :-) Yowza - is there anything that you haven't done during an E-11 build! Seriously though, thank you for the tips. I think a more substantial trigger guard will be a good upgrade. Cheers Chris. I'm planning on having the see-through scope so glad that should be okay. If I'm honest, I understand the point behind it. Whilst it's probably fun to "PEW PEW" at folks, I can see how it could detract from the realism. -

Hi Chris, Can't get that link to work, however I'm not planning light or sound for this one. Was initially thinking of BlastFX but dropped that ideal a while back once I realised how long the standard build on its own would take me. I'll try the link again later. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Hehe, funny that. Great minds think alike. ;-) Yeah, sounds possible. However, I'm not 100% sure of the aluminium thickness, so don't rely on me for that bit. ;-) Thanks for the tips on the heat. I think I'll have a chat with my dad. He has pretty much every tool under the sun and is experienced with metal work. I'll keep you updated if I make progress. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Excellent find, Jesse. I have some aluminium, (approx 2mm thick), that came with Tino's kit that might do the job. It was intended for the scope rail but I ordered a pre-built rail as well, so this is going spare. I think that should be okay. I've not really worked with metal in this was before. Any tips for cutting? Hacksaw? Not sure how straight or tidy the edge would be with a hacksaw? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
GodOfLibra TM ANH Stunt abs 1,5 build
CableGuy replied to GodOfLibra's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Hi Tony, Hehe, I know that feeling, waiting for the little ones to go to bed. ;-) Yes, the photos on Paul's Facebook page are superb. Such a shame about the Doopy situation. As you know, it took about a month or so for mine, but it did finally arrive. Do you have an alternative in mind? -
GodOfLibra TM ANH Stunt abs 1,5 build
CableGuy replied to GodOfLibra's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Hi Tony, Good progress. I'll be following this one as I'm liking TM's stuff. :-) You'll probably be doing this anyway, but, just a little tip if I may: it will be easier to shape/trim the cover strips BEFORE you glue them. As per TM's reference photo, each cover strip has the corners trimmed a little, as below: It can be tricky to cut them once they're attached to the armour and risks damaging the armour itself if you slip up. (If you were going to do it anyway, just ignore me ;-) TM is probably best to confirm the ideal way to finish the cover strips. On a different note, any luck with your Doopys blaster yet? Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Hi Tino, Excellent advice, thank you. I see what you mean about the size of the DD trigger guard. As you suggested, I think I'll try making a replacement out of aluminium. Re the max trigger movement, I'll sort the trigger guard first, then look at fitting a stopper. :-) Thanks again. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
