The detailing is lacking on this last one - just including it for completeness:

"We just call 'im 'Jed'."

Sorry, this is just one of those little things that bothers me. Could someone please rename this forum: Episode XIX Stormtrooper There's an extra "X" there (or Episodes Nine through Eighteen were so bad that they weren't even filmed, I mean worse than Holiday Special bad, and we've skipped right to Nineteen ... but I'm thinking it's the "X").

I'm doing this a little backwards, posting a picture after I reported for duty, but I could only post my submission pics so many times ... I'm on the left TK91593 is on the right.

Wompet requesting Pre-Approval Review (ANH-Stunt AM)
Wompet replied to Wompet's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
First off - I've been approved! I know - they're a little blocky. I don't know how much I can taper them and still be able to fit my hand through the wrist opening, though. -
Wompet requesting Pre-Approval Review (ANH-Stunt AM)
Wompet replied to Wompet's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
I 'm already a member, so it should just be a matter of adding the TK, shouldn't it? I know - the paint on the helmet is ... well. The vocoder was overpainted by the original owner, so these pictures are after cleaning in up. All of the stickers were crooked, and the CRL didn't allow them at Centurion then, so everything was removed. So I used the Trooperbay templates for an AM helmet, which I was told this was ... Everything will get cleaned up, as best as I can, but I'll take basic approval for now. -
I have to admit - I originally wasn't going to do this. I finished my rebuild of this costume back in April, and with May the 4th right around the corner I went straight to submitting pictures to my GMLs. But I'm still waiting to hear back from them (not a word, not a peep, not even a "fix your bicep hooks!"), so I guess I can still be considered for Pre-Approval Review. So: 1. Gary Sackett 2. Garrison Excelsior / Nickel City Squad 3. Armor maker: AM 4. Helmet maker: AM? (original owner was unsure) 5. Cloth belt maker: Imperial Issue 6. Neck seal maker: Darman 7. Boot maker: TK Boots 8. Blaster maker (if applicable): still being assembled 10. Holster: Darman 11. Height: 5'11" 12. weight: 200 lbs 13. TK type: ANH Stunt 14. Name(s) of any Trooper(s) who significantly helped with your build - none in person, but I would like to thank everyone who commented on my re-build thread.
-
For example, I'm ID-17032 and TS-17032. I'm waiting on TK-17032 (pictures submitted). And I'm already planning CX-17032.

The wrists are just the right size to slip my hands through, and that's after I removed the return edges. I sent our GMLs pictures with the biceps lowered about a week ago - I haven't heard from either of them yet.

$99 F-11D with LEDs... too good to be true?
Wompet replied to vegatrooper's topic in Weapons of the First Order
I'm glad that I found this tonight - he's having a 50% off sale right now. -
I ... I think I might be done. I should redo the bicep straps, and I need to re-glue a couple of magnets, and there's a couple of things I want to fiddle with in the helmet ... But ... I didn't take all the photos wanted for a Pre-Approval thread, but here are the "basic" five:

I originally thought about using velcro for the shins, but I decided on a method similar to James': Except that I'm using these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Magcraft-Rare-Earth-1-2-in-x-1-2-in-x-1-8-in-Block-Magnet-10-Pack-NSN0911/204691493 I had used a double pair of regular bar magnets as a temporary measure for the right shin upper closure. There are now two pairs of rare earth magnets in each shin. I'm currently working on shaping the belt and on fixing that crack ...
-
Wow, I haven't updated this in a while ... So the good news is that I thought that I had everything ready for my Pre-Approval thread/submission pics on Saturday night. Then the right shin kept popping open, the left end of the belt popped off, and ... well, you'll see below. Almost there, stay on target ...

Alay beat me to it. There are three are four events currently scheduled/planned around Albany - I'm over by Buffalo, so I lose track of what's going on in the Capital Region.

Great, now I'm going to think of this guy as "Commander Duck." Do you think maybe someone at Lucasfilm Animation is familiar with the Donald Duck remarks about the FO helmets, and decided to have fun with it? After all, Disney animators have a history of putting Easter Eggs in their work ...
-
The FO Commander appeared in this week's episode. And my first thought was "And there's the next CRL-in-progress for the FISD." The "anime-inspired" style takes some getting used to, but at least they didn't take inspiration from the more ... abstract anime out there.

170321 is the service number of my current canine.

Well, I already evened out the kidney and butt plates, so that's done. Yeah, the original owner did some ... interesting things with his build. Weird snaps and return edges everywhere. I drilled out and replaced the incorrect snaps with the correct ones, but now I see that I basically have to do the following: Well, I can take care of trimming those when I do the ab buttons.
-
I haven't updated this in awhile (and I don't know if anyone can read this right now), but the only things left before starting a Pre-Approval thread are replacing the Ab buttons (a quick trim, paint, and glue) and a little work on the helmet (I'm playing 3-D Tetris with my head, the helmet pads, and the electronics).
-
As a previous contest winner, I'm not entering this time - I'm here to encourage everyone else to enter. This is a really good book.
-
Just interruptions and delays. I still need to: finish re-doing the straps (I now have new snap-setting tools, so hopefully this will get done on my next days off) remove, trim, repaint, and reposition the ab buttons (or possibly just repaint) re-do the belt and order a holster repaint the helmet
