  1. As a previous contest winner, I'm not entering this time - I'm here to encourage everyone else to enter. This is a really good book.
  2. Just interruptions and delays. I still need to: finish re-doing the straps (I now have new snap-setting tools, so hopefully this will get done on my next days off) remove, trim, repaint, and reposition the ab buttons (or possibly just repaint) re-do the belt and order a holster repaint the helmet

    Day 2 (for me): 45

Let's see - a couple of people have already tried the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, and that wasn't it ... I'll try 55.
  5. I got my refund last week. If anyone is still waiting for theirs, just keep at it. Polite weekly reminders that you're in Day XX of the 15-day refund process seem to work.
  6. How to say this without (too many) spoilers ... This was a major plot point of Marvel's Phasma mini-series.
  7. Okay, haven't updated this in a while ... I removed all of the return edges from the forearms (I thought - having looked at some other threads I may have to remove a little more. I still need to: work on the bucket (but now I have paints and templates from Trooperbay for the outside) re-do the strapping (need to get some brackets possibly) remove, repaint, and re-position the ab buttons repalce the female snaps on the posterior armor with male snaps So, for the last point - any suggestions on how to remove the female snaps? And, when I get out the Dremel for the forearms again - I need to even out the butt plate with the kidney plate, don't I?
  8. UPS braved my snow-filled driveway to deliver something yesterday I've only had a chance to page through it, but this is a book I look forward to not just reading, but sitting back, settling in, and enjoying cover to cover.
  9. Okay, so that's at least one set of cover strips I'll need to redo. Thanks.
  10. Me too. The sizing seems right, but we'll see. Okay - need to take good pictures of the chest and back plates and share them, since I don't know if this is a 2.0 kit or not ... The greaves look like their correctly assembled (left is left and right is right): but I am wondering about the cover strips on the back - are they supposed to be that wide?
  11. This was originally going to be an Anovos kit, but ... well, Anovos. So a few weeks ago I bought TheLoneRanger's partially assembled kit and now I'm working through what I need to do. So, some pictures: No Big Brown Box, but I got a Big Black Bin Starting with the helmet, I'll need to: remove the black paint on the teeth and repaint them gray paint the rank bars on the ears try and fix the gaps on the bottom of the ear caps get the correct screws for the ear caps remove the stickers and hand-paint the tears, traps, and tube stripes (I'm aiming for Centurion) replace the hovi-tips with Ukswrath's hovi-speakers install the s-trim The kit: I'll skip any more pictures for now, but the short list is I need to: re-do the strapping (need to get some brackets possibly) remove, repaint, and re-position the ab buttons remove all the return edges from the shins, thighs, biceps, and forearms repalce the female snaps on the posterior armor with male snaps get a holster for the E-11
  12. I thought the Stormtroopers missed on purpose (at least in A New Hope) because Vader's plan was to allow the Rebels to escape, and then follow them back to their base ... "You're sure the homing beacon is secure aboard their ship? I'm taking an awful risk, Vader. This had better work." In Timothy Zahn's Allegiance, Luke or Han made an observation along the lines of "Uh yeah, they're not taking it easy on us this time".
  13. Well, I've joined all of you by cancelling my order today and requesting a refund. But I also bought TheLoneRanger's AM kit today, so at least I have that to work on while I wait.
  14. As of Monday, the latest news from Anovos is that there is no news As noted in our September update, we have been fulfilling orders of this product as we receive product from our manufacturer and currently anticipate all orders placed prior to December 18th, 2016 to be fulfilled during Fall. The orders from this segment are currently in production with the expectation that they will be available for shipment out of our fulfillment center during the later half of Fall through Winter 2017.
  15. Thank you. (Of course, now it's really tempting to cancel Anovos and order both the FOTK and R1 TK from Jimmi ...)
  16. When I placed my order back in May, BadBatch's advice to me was 'watch the movies - all of them - watch Clone Wars, watch Rebels, and then wait some more." For now I'll wait a bit longer - with the continually renewing/re-growing yardwork, I wouldn't be able to make a good start on the kit until Fall anyway. Of course, that's another couple months of looking at FOs and R1 TKs ... so who makes FOTK kits other than Anovos?
  17. Okay, here I go: Lately, there are days when my job makes me feel like a faceless, uniformed number. I've decided to have fun with that, and be a faceless uniform that people are happy to see. Well, I'm still waiting on the arrival of my ANOVOS TK, so my "build" consists of a pair TK boots, two sets UnderArmour, a pair of basic approval/trooping gloves, a UKSWRATH Hearing Assist System, and an unassembled E-11 kit ...
  18. Given what's happened to a couple of the other detachments' forums, this thread was the first place I checked when the site came back up. *sighs in relief* The build pictures are still there. Ukswrath, I am so happy you didn't use Photobucket.
  19. When I mentioned the Anovos kit in my intro post, no one said anything against it. In fact, I was pointed towards a couple of really good build threads. I just placed my order, and with the Star Wars day coupon (15% off, May 4-5, MT42017) I basically ended up with free shipping.
