Excuse the mess!

Yes. This all looks pretty much like the same material that I do have in the way that I set up my last suit. My question however is about the white elastic connecting the chest plate to the back plate under the shoulder bridge. I remember that my last suit wiz connected with the elastic from the back plate to the chest plate and then it somehow doubled back again... And I'm thinking that somehow I had the elastic that doubled back connected to the plastic shoulder bridge. I realized that the elastic and the plastic shoulder bridge or connected by a small thin white rubber band or piece of elastic... Earlier this week, I found a picture of my last suit where I had this connection however it's not enough detail to really see exactly how it's connected... I've been taking some time this week to try connecting these with mixed results. I'm going to try it again and hopefully get it right this time... I'm not sure that I'm even making any sense in my wording...

I'm currently building my second suit. My first suit was either stolen or sold by my now ex-wife. I can't remember if my previous suit had the elastic attached to the bottom of the chestplate or if it was between the shoulder bridge and the chest plate and then attached to the back plate from underneath... I remember that I took a thin piece of elastic strap and made a loop that went around the shoulder bridge and the elastic... I've been looking to verify, but can't find it... The connecting elastic is 1 inch, correct?

Awesome! Bless you! I was afraid of this. I've seen a couple of answers and this is the most common.

So why is everybody avoiding the question and not giving a direct answer? Im working on my 3rd suit, but it's been a while. I work at Lowe's and know they have everything there because I've gotten it there before... I just need to know sizes.

Where, What and Whom To Avoid When Buying
Standrex replied to RogueTrooper's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I'm glad to see Maker of Things on the list... His stuff is thin and cheaply made... He claims to be a 501st member and his stuff is acceptable for membership... Like I said, thin and cheaply made -
I received my BBB 6/10/23. It's a WTF suit. I already have my helmet, E11, and boots from my previous suit. I started trimming the forearms yesterday.

Good idea. Right now, its stored away in a storage unit. Ill have to find it, pull it out, and take some pics. IM not sure pics will really show the difference in texture (that's another thing about the suit... It has a 'coarse' texture in comparison to my Walt's suit...

I realize this is a bit late, but I was bitten by an ebay seller. Apparently he has a reputation on here. He says he's a 501st member, but the armor I got reminded me of those cheap kids Halloween masks (MAYBE twice as thick, but not by much)... It was a cheap price but I learned a lesson from it... IM going to use it on a mannequin one day... Ild be afraid to wear it...

Thank you! Glad to finally make it this far. I'm worried that I'm making a mistake somewhere...

Thank you... I think I see where the issue is now... Glad to finally join the ranks!

Well, Im not sure if its me, but I cont seem to post on the "Sound Off" topic (it may be my phone, but I can post here)... I was recently approved (ANH stunt TK) in the middle of moving from WV (Garrison Corellia) to SC (Carolina Garrison). Been working on my build for over 3 years off and on... Thanks to James Welsh (WVtrooper) for his patience and encouragement!

Where to get screen accurate stormtrooper armour
Standrex replied to St-1435's topic in Forum Help & Support
And I can vouche that there are people on ebay claim to be members of the 501st... I got armor from one when I first started (maker of things). It was not very good quality and I've seen others warning about buying from him. I was also one of the many victims of one of the "approved venders" who also has (or had) official licencing. Now this vender has multiple lawsuits because they make promises but don't deliver (literally for years)... Research the vendor! -
Recaster Alert: ! has recast my R1TK
Standrex replied to jimmiroquai's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
As I recall, he claims to be using one of the original ANH suits from the movie (unsure how true it is). The armor itself was kinda thin and really 'rough'... Reminded me of those cheap kids masks... Only like double or triple the thickness. I was told I might get away with making it into a Sandy. The guy also claims to be a member of the 501st... -
Recaster Alert: ! has recast my R1TK
Standrex replied to jimmiroquai's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
My initial suit was from this guy... My Garrison wanted nothing to do with this guys work. I messaged him (wasn't even asking for a refund) and he was a jerk... Now I spread the word about this guy!! I still haven't touched the suit, but am thinking of putting it on a mannequin. -
Thermal Detonator Construction Dimensions ?
Standrex replied to Artshot's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Yes... We've established the overall length of the thermal detonator. We are talking about the thermal detonator CLIPS and how much length the straight part of the clips are before the bend. Thanks though. -
Thermal Detonator Construction Dimensions ?
Standrex replied to Artshot's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'm not sure there is a length. I'm hoping to be finishing up and getting my approval pics taken soon (did my pre approval, so I assume mine wasn't an issue since that wasn't an issue). Mine are 90mm before the bend (part going behind the belt). I'm still learning a lot myself every time I turn around, so take it for what it is worth... -
Comlink question...
Standrex replied to justjoseph63's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I'm interested, too, since I bought one. My suit is stunt though (hopefully almost ready for approval)... -
Hyperfirm not delivering or communicating
Standrex replied to RubberSlug's topic in General Weapons Discussion
I was under the impression months ago (before this post started- surprised it hasn't been mentioned) that Hyperfirm shut down... -
How much is a Tie Pilot?
Standrex replied to Keith Henkel's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I personally will never buy Anovos', especially pre-orders due to a bad experience (ignored my emails and were months past due on my order. It took about 3 months instead of the supposed 10 days for my refund) and reading about so many others with complaints. I just pre-ordered a kids TK kit from Walt's (they have awesome customer service!!). The price was around 3/4 the price I paid from my adult kit. But that's just the hard shell... A TIE pilot has a lot less hard shell... Send them a message on Facebook for prices. They usually get back with you the next day at the latest (usually minutes) -
The link is gone. Went to Joannes today but they dont have a lot people have listed in the past. Its new/different stuff now.
