It`s just the outside that counts so my advise would be to look at approved Centurions here to see how it all should look and then put the foam were it needs to be as Frank suggested
I went with screen accurate strapping (brackets and elastic) due to the fact I wanted to emulate the Movie suit as accurate as I possible could. As long as good elastic is used I don`t see a "con" with it and if the elastics would wear out, I`ll just replace
Looking at the build it appears your smaller ab button plate might be a bit big? Could just be the angle though, it should look something like this
Basic is a slamdunk - great job
I echo the suggestions from my fellow Troopers and adding just a small bit for that clean Stormtrooper-look and that would be to check the left shoulder bell that has a slightly bigger gap than the right which btw is perfect
Yes, it will look so much better if you do and some ABS-paste on the outside - getting closer and one other small thing, the coverstrip at the top look a bit long, could be the angle though, just thought I should mention it
Dan covered most bases so my small contribution will be about this: making the screws more flush is only a good thing (less prone to catching each other or the plastic) but like Dan said about the ear screws it’s important not to go to heavy, some choose to reinforce the return edge with plastic tabs were the brackets go. And - great job
Turns out not that great, to my surprise I might ad.....it was raining that day and I took the pics outside and there were "rain-drops" pretty much all over...easy fix by dabbing it with a sponge but weren`t expecting that.....I had an efx helmet that I did the same to and had a hard (well...) time removing the weathering and using warm water alone didn`t cut it so based on that I thought it would hold up better (different hair spray might play a part).....but still not planning on adding a top coat, although I´m not planning on removing the weathering I still want the option. Solution - going heavier with the hairspray and see how that holds up
I for one feel that would be disrespectful towards the applicant - we don’t judge people by the make of armor they have, the advanced tactics is about looking your best as a Stormtrooper. That’s why all should do like gmrhodes13 did, direct people to the getting started section so an educated yet personal choice can be made.
Ears - Centurion level as still a go
If you`re not happy with how they turned out I´m sure you can order an extra set of ears from Walt and have another go
What Frank said about foam and only a good thing to have slender arms, makes it ”easier” to prevent gaps between shoulder and chest/backplate The original actors weren’t exactly buff dudes
