    Troop # 1

    Date: November 30, 2019

Location: Glendale, Arizona - Gila River Arena

Event: Arizona Coyotes Star Wars Night

This was a very exciting first troop to take part in! The Arizona Coyotes hosted a "Star Wars" night and invited the 501st Legion along with the Rebel Legion, Mandalorain Mercs, The Dark Empire, and Syndicate Saber AZ to greet and interact with the fans before the beginning of the game.

All packed up ready for my first troop!

Lord Vader was not happy seeing San Jose Sharks fans out and about. They were detained immediately.

  2. That's fantastic news! Thank you for everyone's feedback and support. This community is truly an amazing resource and I wouldn't have made it to Centurion without the help from my fellow troopers. I am still blown away from the amount of information and knowledge of all things Stormtroopers that is shared here. It's a lot of fun to be able to share the same niche passion for Stormtrooper armor with people all around the world.

I have had the goal of reaching Centurion ever since I joined FISD 4 years ago, ordered my armor 3 years ago, joining the 501st last year, and finally making the adjustments to reach the next level. I am quite proud of my armor and it remains on display in my living room whenever I'm not trooping. It's definitely the coolest thing I own, and I made it!

And how cool is it that I was EIB #966, and now Centurion #466 awarded on 6/6! Order 66 anyone? :D

Hello and thank you. This is my Centurion application. I believe I submitted the above mentioned photos for my EIB application, with the exception of the internal attachment of the thigh ammo belt.  Do I need to include all of the level 2 requirement photos in the level 3 application as well?

  5. I have been working on getting my armor ready for my Centurion application and I'm just about there! I think...

Here's what I've been working on:

Removed the return edges from the shoulder bells. (Photo shows the one on the right with the edge removed)

    9HBCXPr.jpg

Removed the Anovos paint and completely repainted the vocoder:

    k4JyChS.jpg

Replaced the ear screws (Thanks @justjoseph63):

    5Je4EAm.jpg

    clzkWUu.jpg

Removed the male snaps for the belt, filled the holes with ABS paste, re-positioned the belt, and put in new snaps:  (It was too tight for velcro to keep it in position, it kept falling beneath the lowest button)

I also adjusted the strapping on the left forearm up to even the gap between the elbows.

    iSykg1O.jpg

I am planning on fixing the angles of the sniper knee later today. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures wearing the armor later this week.

  6. Hello Carlos,

Greetings from a member of your local Dune Sea Garrison. The next steps to join the 501st Legion and the Dune Sea Garrison would be to sign up on the forums over at https://duneseagarrison.com/, if you haven't done so yet. Our local Garrison Academy Instructors (GAI) are Christopher Gilb, Jeff Seager. They are tasked with assisting new members with costumes, questions, and onboarding. Over on our forum Chris "Big Gulp" is TK-BigGulp Jeff is RapierOne. Our local Garrison armorer is Michael Culp @TK1636, and he is extremely knowledgeable as well. Also, I'm willing to help you out with any questions you have. We look forward to having another "Shiny" amongst our ranks!

Congrats, Eric!  The ear screws are scheduled to be delivered to you by Saturday, so I expect to see that Centurion application soon!

I received the ear screws today. Thanks again! I have a question about their placement. If you look at the helmet pictures the left screw is slightly above the trim but the right screw is underneath the trim (not visible unless you pull the trim down a bit). What is the correct position for these screws. Thank you!

Congrats Eric glad I could help, you should be a show in for EIB and Centurion! I'm going to the MS walk on the 2nd of November maybe I can meet you there so I can help you kit up.

Thank you! As of right now I have to work on the 2nd and I haven't been able to find someone to cover my shift. I'm still working on it and hoping I can make it to the MS walk.

Way to go Eric!!!  :salute:  Fantastic to hear that you are aiming for Centurion, sir, and with that set of armor you are well on your way!  Hopefully there will plenty of trooping opportunities with the DSG for to show it off.  If you haven't had the chance to attend a troop yet as a handler, I have a thread that may help:

    https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39382-your-first-troop-a-few-tips/

If you have any questions, just let us know...   Now, time to get that EI application in! ;)

Thank you! I took a look at your thread, thank you for the tips. I'm not signed up for any troops yet but I hope to find one soon that fits my hectic schedule. In the mean time I'll get to work on my EI application!

  11. Hello! My Anovos ANH Stunt Trooper armor was approved on 10/23/2019 and it's my first costume for the 501st! I'm very excited to join the ranks of the 501st Legion and my local Dune Sea Garrison in Arizona.

I ordered my Anovos kit on 12/27/2016 and my BB Day was 01/11/2018. I was slow going on getting my armor put together and it spent months at a time sitting on the back burner to life. I was finally able to get my armor completed  September of this year and submit my application to the 501st.

It is my intention to apply for EIB and Centurion status.

    A few thank yous:

Thank you @TK1636for inviting me into your home and helping me build my armor.

Thank you @ukswrath for your amazingly detailed build thread which I tried to follow closely as possible.

Thank you @justjoseph63for the flexible hand plates.

Thank you @T-Jayfor the E-11 Completion kit. (I still haven't finished my Doopy Doo's blaster kit however)

Thank you @TKittellfor the canvas belt.

Thank you @Darman for the neck seal and holster.

Thank you @FISD E-11 Reference Teamfor the fantastic E-11 build guide.

Thank you @gmrhodes13for the suggestions on how to get my armor up to EIB and Centurion standards.

These are only suggestions as most items will be fine for basic approval but you may have to adjust for EIB and Centurion if you want to go apply for those levels.  It really depends on your GML (garrison membership liaison) if he/she would require them to be adjusted before approval so I'd check with him/her first as it is ultimately their decision.

Side ab/kidney rivets would need to be removed, then the holes filled with ABS past, sanded and polished, here's a how to thread for ABS paste

https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/ Then check spacing with references and redrill holes.

You wouldn't need a new belt, you could reposition new snaps/rivets and adjust.

Have a look at Tony's build, it's full of great detail https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build-stunt/

Well I hope the ab/kidney rivets are okay with my GML, he's the one who installed them! However, I am hoping for EIB and Centurion approval.

In order to re-position the snaps on the belt I will have to punch new holes in the canvas belt, correct? Or do I use the same method you mentioned for the ab/kidney rivets and fill in the male snaps on the ab plate and drill new holes slightly higher?

Tony's build thread was my bible while building my armor. I used it almost exclusively other than the help from my GML.

As for the arms, which gap looks correct? I know they are off but I'm not sure which one I need to move.

    Thank you for the help!

  13. Thank you for the input gmrhodes13. I didn't realize I had that much more work to do! Yikes! I have a question about the belt and side rivets. How do I make adjustments to those pieces since they're already set in place via holes drilled in the armor and belt and set with rivets, snaps etc. Would I just have to get a new belt and start over? I'm not sure how else I could move it up and over.

  14. Hello All, I recently finished my armor that I've been working on here and there for about a year and a half now.  I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about it or suggestions on how to make it better, or know if it's good enough for basic approval. Thank you!

    Very carefully! Lol

So basically I took an exacto blade and carefully ran it along the inside between the mesh and the plastic to try to break up the glue a bit. Slightly wiggly it towards the center to help separate it from the plastic and continued that until they came loose, pretty intact. They're a tiny bit bent, but nothing noticable once I got them back in

Yeah, I tried this and it did not work out so well for me ha ha ha. There was a lot of glue holding the mesh into place! I ended up having to make new screens from a strainer I got at the dollar store but I think they turned out fine.
