  1. I do hope you're not referring to my pestering you about the armor. lol -C
  2. Can you post one of those fancy Youtube tutorials when you dye them, Andy (a la the electrical tape armor trimming ones we've come to know and love)? My jodhpurs should be here next week and -- if not a video tutorial -- at least a step-by-step would be cool. -Chris
  3. Paul, The black jodhpurs I ordered from the UK should be arriving soon. What white leather dye did you use? Any specials tips/hints? -Chris
  4. BH-8990 requesting priority clearance! TK in progress: http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9888
  5. No idea. I actually got mine off a UK auction site: ------- because the shipping was going to be about 10 pounds cheaper.... -C
  6. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting the launch of the one in your siggy!
  7. I'd say just pay close attention to the exact make and model of boot -- in terms of stitching, etc. "Jodhpur" boots can mean a pretty broad range, including some that zip, some with very rounded toes that don't look right for a TK, leather pleats where the elastic goes, etc. The Shires Woodstocks look really nice and are among the more economical versions.
  8. I just opted for Shires Woodstock Jodhpurs in black that I'll be dyeing. After shipping from the UK and the cost of dye, they will probably be about the same cost as CABoots when all is said and done, but be more accurate and comfortable and smell less.
  9. Pete, I love that you sand and round off the corners to make your tabs look neat. How Adrian Monk of you! Is there a reason you'd have to actually mount the snap to the plastic tabs with the hole and backing versus just CA gluing it on? I've CA glued the male ends of snaps onto ABS before with no problems. However, I can see how -- between the snap actually being mounted on the tab and the tab being welded with the ABS glue to the armor piece -- this would be well-nigh impossible to remove. -Chris
  10. And if I know Andy from following him on TDH, it will be meticulously put together and we'll be able to find many a helpful video tutorial from him on YouTube! Kids got skillz!
  11. Search eBay for Fedayeen and you'll see a couple of them up for auction right now. Looks like the Iraqi's were having a hard time deciding on the ANH or ESB look -- as there's a little bit of widow's peak, but it's rounded off.
  12. This "Moment in Grammar" brought to you by Slave1Pilot, because knowledge is Power!
  13. Don't know about their TK boots but the word on the Fett's is order a half size smaller. Worked for me. But TK's could be different.
  14. With regards to the chest, it looks like you could achieve something closer to that look by trimming the neck of your chest piece a little (since you say it is tight against your neck already) and sliding the chest piece up and back. Compare where the top of their shoulder "straps" meet the chest plate versus yours. The curvature at the bottom of the chest piece looks similar, but the "pecs" on the other troopers are clearly higher -- which gives them that more puffed up look.
  15. Same problem here. I use IE and get an error initially. I go "back" once or twice and it shows up fine most of the time. I have a similar problem with one of my cable provider's sites -- only I can't get it to work at all with IE. Open either with Firefox? No problems whatsoever....
  16. WOW....balls like church bells to be driving in that bucket! I couldn't see anything that wasn't right in front of me in my AP! lol
  17. Looking forward to watching your progress, Andy! Now I'm chomping at the bit even more to get started on mine.....
  18. Well, I have a PM out to him and am weighing it against the other two options. We shall see! Thanks, all! Chris
  19. I'm just a hair under 6'0" and currently about 190-195 lbs. Not terribly overweight, but not the slim runner's build I used to be. Would I have many concerns trying to fit into any of these 3 armors? A little soft in the mid-section and I probably have slightly larger than average thighs and calves. I'm a former triathlete, and I do plan on trying to get back in the pool and on the bike soon -- that should help. Thoughts? Thanks! C
