TK-70384 Requesting ANH STUNT EIB Status (WTF) 1084
JBar replied to Slouch's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Looking great! Not a DO or anything here but if I may I had a question regarding the power cylinders coils. For EIB are they an optional accessory to the E11? They look great but I was just reading here that they may have only been seen in the "bapty" promotional version of the blaster -
Just EIB first and once completed you can immediately apply for centurion https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantry-status/ Make sure you request your certificate here once completed Good luck! It feels great to get your EIB and Centurion if you want it

Sorry they broke! Part of my post troop is looking for cracks and filling them with super glue soaked cloth. I had an entire shoulder bridge snap off once. Just part of the experience I guess

It's a lot of work but definitely doable. I personally don't have experience with shims but this is a great tutorial: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47793-kidney-plate-shimming-help-needed/

Good luck! Excited to see all the pictures as you build it. Maybe I'll see you at Celebration Japan!

TK-20928 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [RWA](1083)
JBar replied to Lafleur's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Wow I love it! Great job trooper -
I would hope you'd have won. You're a freaking stormtrooper! That's amazing and congrats. I'll also add that going for EIB was incredibly rewarding and I learned so much more about the costume. I think you'd be well on your way. Looking great

RS Propmasters does a great job getting people approved assuming it is fitted well which I believe you should have no trouble with. At a glance it looks great. If you can find a plain background even better. Just make sure you add some velcro or something to your boot and shin as your right calf is popping too high over your boot. Here's a TK pre approval thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/193-request-tk-pre-approval/ But as mentioned above definitely make sure you're in touch with your local garrison and reach out to their GML who will guide you through the approval process. Looking good trooper!

What we know about strapping, snaps, rivets etc
JBar replied to Locitus's topic in The Replica Section
Check out how RS props builds theirs since to my knowledge they more replicate the original build. They have a very different system compared to what's above and what most people use. It's more rivets and hooks than snaps like the movies. But if you want to troop that system will break very easily (also just like the movies). You can see a lot here in this gallery https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/78-more-rs-suit/ -
If you're referring to the snaps behind the belt I used line 24 snaps to attach the snaps to the ab armor. To attach the plastic belt to the cloth I glued in some chicago screws in case I need to replace it but other troopers use rivets. The movies used rivets but it's a more permanent solution. (there are two more chicago screws under the white elastic)

I just punched a hole through the shoulder elastic with regular line 24 snaps. That should be pretty standard -
I know that feeling! And guess what, that feeling hasn't left me after 15 troops. It's so cool to be the iconic stormtrooper. Kids and families love it too. I also have a Walt kit. If you have any fitting questions let us know! Hope to see your around and welcome

Feedback on RS test fit please
JBar replied to Thiboterham's topic in TK Pre-Approval Questions & Discussion
Looking back I mentioned that you may want to move your belt over so that it's centered on the raised edge of your lower ab armor. Looking at some other builds many troopers out there have it centered on your ab plate buttons as you have here. You might be ok not adjustting your belt after all. However it does still appear to be off to your right (picture's left) by looking at the dropbox locations. If anyone has any alignment opinions I'm curious to know your thoughts -
Welcome! Assuming you're going for the ANH Stunt if you haven't seen it you can find the build threads here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ Let us know if you need help sourcing armor and also check these out: Also this All in One Guide is very useful

Hello! Hopeful future trooper with a couple questions
JBar replied to Winter Veyra's topic in New Member Introductions
You've come to the right place. Back in April I knew nothing about a TK but I went from a box of plastic to centurion in a few months so it definitely can be done. That All In One guide posted above was my go to. Once all the armor was organized I just researched part by part and referenced some builds to figure out what to do. If you end up going with the pre built RS I can say that they are a good kit. I liked building my own both for the knowledge and also I could fit it to my body perfectly. Also i went with ANH Stunt purely because that's how I envision a TK when I think of one. The ESB is great too i'm just partial to the grey frown over black but that's just me -
Congrats! I hope you enjoy the journey to EIB/Centurion. I certainly did. Can't wait to see your next steps forward
-
Looking forward to your build post. There is a wealth of knowledge here on how to help. The good news with all the SDS modifications is that you'll become very knowledgeable about the look of a TK after all the adjustments are made

Feedback on RS test fit please
JBar replied to Thiboterham's topic in TK Pre-Approval Questions & Discussion
For the gaps in the back I used white Sugru. It got me through my EIB approval -
From what I've seen RS Props do a great job. One thing though is that they work hard for "movie accuracy" which is great but that means the strapping is a bit dated. Here's a good reference on where to put snaps and straps: Once approved or if you need pre approval (not required) I hope you can post here so we can take a look: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/193-request-tk-pre-approval/ Hope you enjoy once RS delivers. In the meantime there's a wealth of knowledge here on everything stormtrooper

Welcome! Great Bo-Katan too. I think your armor building skills would be amazing for a Phasma. As others have said we'd love to see a build thread here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/197-captain-phasma-build-threads/

I had the same problem. I ended up cutting the tips off and drilling two new holes. It didn't take as long as I expected and now the "donut" faces outward instead of upward Before: After:

G'day there - new TK recruit from down under
JBar replied to Slouch's topic in New Member Introductions
I felt the same way with my return edge on the forearms. I like a return edge for the "fullness" look and it hurt removing it all on the wrists but now that I've done it I can't really tell a difference in pictures
