1. Great loving the music. Was that a voice amp attached to your holster, btw?
2. Hi, boots look good! What paint did you use? And did you use same paint on the elasticated gussets?

I have the same blaster...
3. Yeh, you can only try!Sorry about the quality of the pics - i'm running out of photo space! As I said... Reeeeally ugly. 3 x chicago screws down one side, so the joining leather is fixed at one side, and 3 x popper snaps down the other. The gap was just a mis-measurement due to my fat neck! Could be covered by a loop of black material, I suppose, but it's fine to stay on the mannequin.
4. Hi, thanks. It was the 'D' profile (two joined D profiles per strip). It's a really ugly connection, but it was a make-it-up as I went along process.I'll post a pic of the join asap. The self-adhesive tape does adhere pretty well to the shirt.
5. I suppose it depends a lot on what the holster is made of. A dyed leather will leave marks if not properly buffed and finished, whereas a PU leather should not.
6. The draught excluder came today, and an old black T-shirt was consigned to experimentation
I think the first attempt came out really well... Used the sleeve of T-shirt, with a 4" strip of the armpit material retained as a bib.
I don't have any black velcro at the moment, but utilised what I had for this first prototype, and used some snaps that I normally use for leatherworking. Not ideal looking at the join, but easily covered, and I'd make it slightly different next time.
Here it is on 'Manakkin'...
Edit: photo on its side? Strange. Anyway, 6m of the excluder cost £3.39. I used 6 lines on this one and have enough left to make another one with 8 lines (and the other sleeve of the T-shirt). Total cost per neck seal - £1.70 each plus an old T.
7. Hi, yeh, I just prefer it with the black loops. Leaving them tan tabs would have been easier, as the leather started out natural tan My belt isn't screen accurate, though, being plastic instead of canvas, so the loops work nicely. Also, wanted a 'right-hand draw', as I'm right-handed. Doing the cross-draw would be tricky whilst in a suit, i'd have thought? I'll make another to suit my new blaster, if I manage to make one, but make it 'properly'
8. Hi, yeh, I wanted my holster hung from the right hand side, as opposed to the left, as was worn on-screen.
9. Under suit in pink would be a great idea before starting to paint armour, at least worth a try...
10. Made from 3mm veg tan, dyed black (upcycled from the remnants of a satchel i'd made previously) The loops aren't screen accurate, but I prefer them the same as holster, instead of tan. Also, used a Sam Brown style fixing on the strap. Used Chicago screws, but the top two are brass until I can get silver ones long enough to go through 9mm of leather! A very rigid holster, but made a bit of a mistake on the angled cuts. Fits the blaster nicely, though
11. Sorry, you said 'belt' I'd assumed bracelet
12. Thanks, thought I was going mad! Any idea if I delete or post up smaller files in their place, will the allowance go up again? Tried Photobucket but has been in mantenance mode for hours.
13. Help! I'm having the same issue with posting photos... initially, I could attach 500kb or whatever, then with each photo I've posted, it has come down to about 5kb left Are members only allowed to attach a finite kb amount? Tried switching from ipad to PC, updated flashplayer, etc.
14. It's a beaut
15. Aaw, you stole my thread
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35129-this-is-probably-the-best-stormtrooper-helmet-available-out-there/
16. Bit glossier than normal because of a different dye, but...
17. You mean just loads of stormtroopers side-by-side?
18. This is weird... I've just been looking at this draught excluder stuff for EXACTLY this project! Definitely gonna do this now
19. Thanks, they're a bit loose-fit for me, so I'll get a better pair and keep these on the mannequin.
20. Oh, and the boots are those rubbish ones, and his hands are covered with duct tape because his gloves won't go on properly, but y'know...
21. ...get a bad word or two directed their way...
.
BUT!
.
I'm really happy with my purchase!
The mannequin (Manakkin Sywalker) arrived today, and this is the first time I've had everything put together.
I know it's not 501st approvable without a good bit of work, but for now, I think he looks pretty cool

(Jaunty leg angle is unfortunate but unavoidable )

22. Thanks... Made a wrist strap, bracelet, whatever it'd be called... This leather was softer and easier to get a good imprint
23. That's just on bare, undyed/finished leather to show the imprint. I made a luggage tag for a friend on darker leather and it came out really nice.Even made a couple of scout woggles (the thing that holds the neckerchief in place), looked pretty cool.
