1. Thanks for that - your English is much better than my Español para las turistas Some of the things that involve cutting bits of my armour frighten me slightly - I really couldn't have made a kit from scratch - I'd be a nervous wreck!
2. That worked out well
3. Congrats! How easy was it to remove the little bit of strip?
4. Hmm, OK, well, I know nothing of that. I wasn't looking to buy a story, just armour, which I'm happy with
5. Folks say it's too expensive. "You can get better elsewhere for less", is a common response. I got my set next day delivery, ready-to-wear, albeit not 501st approved out of the box. But depends what you want out of it. I wanted ready-to-wear, which gives me time to work on bits whilst still being able to use it. PM me if you need any measurements, other Qs etc
6. This is my daughter in the SDS suit... Bear in mind that she's super-skinny and only 5'2" ish. Please ignore the jaunty pose And me in it... I'd been jumping around like a complete tool, so the shoulder bells are a bit mental i've since changed the shoes and belt: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii7/humperdingle/image_zpsdnryvuzk.jpeg
7. Aah, gotcha. Which one were you looking at? Battle Spec or the more expensive one?
8. I don't think they ship to the US do they? Not directly, anyway. You'd need to check that. Things i've done or added so far have been: Change detonator plastic clip to aluminium clips, change belt for canvas belt, bought boots (and painted), made neckseal, made leather holster, bought blaster. Apart from a few minor tweaks, I don't think there's much else to do for basic 501st level. Have a look at the EIB requests page - There have been a couple of Spanish guys who have submitted requests with SDS armour - Maybe those threads will help.
9. What bits exactly are you having to trim? I'm 6ft and (fortunately) the kit seems to fit me almost perfectly. Just need to adjust the shoulder straps before I glue them at the front.
10. I got a SDS - aka Shepperton Design Studios - aka Original Stormtrooper - outfit. (Battle spec) I'm happy with it I have changed a couple of things, like metal clips on the detonator, canvas belt instead of the supplied ABS belt, but that's about it. I wanted a kit to wear immediately, and it fit the bill. Lots of members here seem to hate the company, but my experience was a good one.
11. Hey, I found posting pics was a pain until I realised that clicking 'Request Desktop site', on the ipad, opened-up a whole load of new options, including inserting photobucket direct links etc.Edit: Tracks look great btw. I love a bit of DIY ingenuity
12. Is that aluminium foil on the detonator canister?
13. You're probably right. But I always thought those thigh packs would be ideal for connecting with a rebel's crotch in CQC
14. You'd have thought the drop boxes would be at least roughly the same shape as the magazine in an E-11 in that case?
15. Post a pic of the seal when it's done!
16. Magnets. I always forget about magnets.
17. What are they for?? (Probably been asked before but I couldn't find an answer)

Did they have any supposed purpose for a stormtrooper, or were they just a 'dangly bit'?

Maybe for keeping mints in?
18. Big project! Will be interesting to follow this thread
19. Found an entire side of 3.5mm leather i'd forgotton about! Decided to make some holsters: ------------
20. Thanks, I appreciate your kind words. If nothing else, I can give it to the little lad up the road.
21. A bit of weathering and I wash my hands of this carbuncle
22. Have you tried Novus and it didn't work? I'm working my way through my armour with Novus 2, and it's making a real difference.
23. OK, it's finished. Thank the lord. Must admit, it was annoying me I really need to learn patience Anyway, a pic for anyone interested. Cost me £1 for the 2ft of pipe and £2 for the T-strips. Everything else was fabricated or shaped from metal/plastic/wood. Don't zoom into the pic too much Over and out.
24. Thanks. This blaster will be displayed in the bin Getting a bit fed up with it tbh - Might have to start over. I mean I'll finish it, but probably burn it like Vader. It's looking uglier at every stage
