1. Hmm... I'm not sure. I'd have put a pistol or compact rifle scope on it, I think. The big scope makes it look a bit 'normal' and less 'Star Wars'.

Just my HO
2. I'm not But thanks for the info.
3. Yeh, that's what I thought. The photos on the ads always show some really impressive piece sitting on the printer's bed, but you just know it never really printed it
4. What sort of price would a reasonable 3D printer be? I see some at £300, but assume they're not up to much?
5. Looking good!
6. OK, kinda finished, except a few coats of paint. Added a conical piece at the muzzle. Measures 4ft exactly. Regarding being unbalanced... I'm not sure lol. It 'feels' better than it probably looks. Oh well, it'll be ideal to stand next to the trooper mannequin. Edit: Might change the mash-up bipod for a cheap ebay one
7. And for the discerning user, the Rubies costs £20 plus a little time and effort
8. Yeh, I agree. It kinda resembles an MG-15 at the rear, with its pistol grip. Still need to add the conical muzzle and maybe something middle-ish.
9. Added a few more **bits** and another lick of paint.
10. Used up the remainder of my 15mm copper pipe for a couple of bipod legs, squished at the ends for feet.
11. I was surprised how well the Angelus went on and covered the black (after acetone / steel wool treatment). It's much thicker than any of the leather oil dyes I've used. Probably closer to an edge-kote dye.
12. Just had a similar incident in the caves on Hoth... A team mate (Snowtrooper), got launched upwards after an explosion. His foot got stuck in the ice ceiling (like Luke, when the ice monster hangs him up). Just dangling there Some great 'ragdoll' moments in this game.
13. An initial lick of paint for the main body of the gun, just to see where gaps need filled, etc. I think it looks a pretty decent donor blaster for £10!
14. Butchered the blue muzzle part and took the very end pieces (where the muzzle piece went on to) off the silver vented portion of the donor gun. The two sides just weren't going to marry-up properly otherwise. Used that as a coupler for two pipe clips (Jubilee clips) to clamp the muzzle to 40mm pipe. The T-Track is just on there loose as I'm still thinking what to do next.
15. Cut a couple of sections of my trusty beech rolling pin (slides very snugly inside the 40mm pipe) and drilled a 'guide hole' through one (for middle section) and another, drilled halfway through (a socket for the muzzle end). Not sure if you can see it, but gloss black inner barrel is in-situ.
16. But painted is more 'screen accurate'!? Keep your flaking boots and be proud What did you paint them with? I used Angelus leather dye. Worked great
17. I used Plastikote primer on the same gun used above. I reckon the orange paint must contain a repellant of some kind, to prevent it being painted, because the primer suffered a similar problem of non-adherance. A few light coats worked well, though.
18. Don't get me wrong, I think white off-the-shelf boots are probably a better idea. Whilst they may be more 'Screen accurate', painted boots look a bit shabby to me on-screen. Just thinking of that screen shot where Han Solo, dressed as a stormtrooper is sitting on the chair. The shoes look awful
19. Yeh cool - I can darken it a bit, but keep it dark brown. Maybe add a leather sling, too. Lol thanks
20. Last pic, I promise. Added a couple of crappy wires and a D-ring, but not shown in the pic.
21. Gawd, thanks - Thought I was the Omega Man for a while Yep, you're right, Doopydoos builds are pretty common. I WAS hoping to pick the Doopy E-11 kit up but they're constantly showing out of stock So started this instead. Must say, it's nice to not have to fabricate virtually everything, like my scratch E-11 pipe build. Dye the leather or not?
22. No, I understand that they meet the requirements. I'm just wondering why the requirements allow it? 'Screen accurate', boots would be black boots of the correct style, painted white. No?
23. Cut a bit of 3.5mm (10oz?) veg tan leather as an experimental grip. Cut grooves, for grip and for detail. Hmm... Looks OK. Might dye it black, might leave it for contrast. If there is anyone out there (!) Opinions are appreciated!
24. Out of interest, why are off-the-shelf white boots accepted for the highest levels of approval, when original screen boots were painted boots?
