  1. Ahh I see, I thought that side number detail was cast into the scope body. Those look like beautiful castings! I see you cast the M38 hollow unlike the M19.
  2. Ooh Very Nice! I thought you recast the one with #4 on the side?
  3. Agreed 100% Higher level requirements most definitely need to be based on a real or replica Airsoft S&T Sterling L2A1 AEG, not a real 9mm Sterling Mk4 L2A3 Sub Machine-Gun. Level 2 or 3 should most definitely require a real or replica Element M300A Mini Scout Light be mounted on the right side, not just any generic mini flashlight. As Chris said there is a much more detailed write up with all the information needed to make an accurate Rogue One E-11 right here on the forums, and it would be a real shame not to take advantage of this resource and all the work that's already been done there. Our Detachment Commander has put me in charge of the of the official FISD Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference thread if you check out the link below. PLEASE CLICK HERE: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/
  4. At the very least the holster should have to be removed, and a flashlight added to the right side of the blaster. We can't make it that simple to have cross-approval on two costumes. This is the 501st after all, I think our standards are a little higher than that. Some of the troopers in this photo didn't remove their holsters and it's actually quite Noticeable, also some of us have flashlights while others don't. While the R1 TK was definitely inspired by the ANH Stunt TK there are obviously many differences and we need to draw the line somewhere, these two small things are rather noticeable differences IMHO. 1 Holster Removed, 2 Flashlight Added. We actually had 10 of us out there in armor that day at the beach, I did the photoshopping myself, here's another photo.
  5. Yes they very different as Daetrin said, in fact he has personally put me in charge of the Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference if you go here; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/ The R1 BlasTech E-11 is different than the ANH variant in almost every aspect of the blaster big or small. Even the DLT-19 has the new Flashlight installed so to answer your question yes the other blasters are in fact different too. I have been writing an optional accessory template to contribute to this CRL for the E-11 blaster, as well as an optional accessory for the Crystal Patrol Duty packs.
  6. I agree the Thermal Detonator/O2 Canister should be an OPTIONAL Accessory. While some may not be able to fit it on their belt at all, other taller troopers can easily wear it under their packs as seen in the game. As far as the Ab Buttons, Tube Stripes, and Lens colors go; I would guess all these small detail inconsistencies were never really intended by Lucasfilm and probably largely due in part to the low quality 3D imaging and/or the graphics designers were just not utilizing their reference material accurately. Either way I think it's apparent that a HWT is basically just a standard stormtrooper assigned to a specific heavy weapon duty, issued a pack, and given a different "HWT" title. Otherwise it wouldn't even be part of FISD, it would be a whole other separate detachment like MEPD or SpecOps. I also have to comment on the Antenna; It looks cool and all, and if that's what you want then rock on. Although technically it isn't in the game or any other references so it's not accurate to the source material at the end of the day. With the latest Battlefront game and the new Battlefront II coming out soon I think it might be worth considering adding a whole new CRL for a 'Battlefront Stormtrooper' separate from the original Heavy Weapons Trooper. There are different types of troopers in the game and an endless configuration of weapons, pauldrons, and packs. It might be very well worth considering a new separate CRL for the Battlefront Stormtrooper to go alongside with ANH, ESB, ROTJ, ect. The new R1 Stromtrooper CRL will have it's own optional pack as well. I very much like this version of the HWT pack from the latest Battlefront game, I want to build a replica one day. There is also a Jetpack and a Magma Trooper pack in the game, although technically those are worn by Jump Troopers(Skytroopers) and Magma Troopers(Lavatroopers) not standard Stormtroopers. It may be easier to just add these 3 packs to those existing CRLs; Heavy Weapons Trooper, Sky Trooper, & Magma Trooper. But a new Battlefront Stromtrooper CRL would go along nicely with the Shocktrooper CRL. http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg542/William_Shawn_Cantey/Battlefront%20Shocktrooper%20Build/24823122054_5667818a6a_o_zpsf1e2hecu.jpg
  7. Wow man, good job! This looks MILES better than the stock "S&T E-11 Blaster". Like I stated in my blaster reference thread; that "E-11" is not accurate to any blaster used in any Star Wars films ever, it's wrong in so many ways. But you have converted it into a nice E-11, and Rogue One was definitely a good choice for it considering the base airsoft gun is the same one they used in the movie. Also the power cylinders are actually a close match to the SDS power cylinders used in Rogue One. Loving the flashlight add-on too! Maybe ask the guys over at "Praetorian Blasters" for an accurate Counter replica, they will be recasting a Hengstler that is accurate to the screen used counters in Rogue One.
  8. And how would you attach it to the receiver tube? Does it really need to be separate? What purpose would it serve? Honestly the more parts that can be cast with the receiver tube the better. They were originally brazed on, but welding them together will not be an option for 99% of builders. Casting it as one piece will ensure everything is completely fused together like a real Sterling only without welding. Though some parts will need to be attached mechanically with screws. The result will be nearly identical to the real thing, only in aluminum of course. Plus aluminum is different than steel when it comes to structural strength so not everything can made using the exact same methods.
  9. OT TK Chelsea Boots should be allowed for basic approval at the most, but with that the CRL should even recommend that "Flat Soles are Preferred". I'm currently working with ireachy and MrPaul on a CRL for the optional accessory Crystal Patrol Pack. I'm also working on the optional accessory CRL for the Rogue One E-11 Blaster, I've already posted the Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference thread that is pinned in the new R1 BlasTech E-11 subforum that I started in the Weapons Locker section; http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/
  10. Wow, every time I come back to this thread I'm blown away! The Helmet & Armor look incredibly accurate Jim! Amazing Job, you've outdone yourself yet once again. And you did some heavy modifications to the BS before casting, so in a way that sculpt is somewhat yours. I really wouldn't worry too much about that, there's no need to reinvent the wheel when we all know the general shape and size of the BS is accurate. But you really made some much needed improvements that actually make it screen accurate! Namely the Chin Bulbs being extended inwards, More Accurate Brow and Vocoder, and last but not least removing the ugly Speaker Grill/Battery Compartment. Just look at the back of that beautiful helmet now! And those photos of the raw cast before painting REALLY show off your modifications to the sculpt! Definitely unique to YOUR kit and much more screen accurate than a BS.
  11. Chris Trevas from "Parts of Star Wars" has positively identified the Flashlight Rail. It is a Unmark System Rail base for 416 Black(GTA1193) http://www.greenbase.hk/Unmark-System-Rail-base-for-416-Black-GTA1193- It appears to be correct and 100% accurate to the screen used flashlight rails. I will update the main post to reflect this discovery. Every single component of the Rogue One E-11 blaster has now been positively Identified, thanks to Chris for this! He is actually the same guy who identified the Flashlight itself as well.
  12. Hmm That's really strange, that blaster is even pictured in the Scope Rail chapter of my reference thread but I didn't realize that strapping was actually attached to the blaster, I have to admit that's the first time I've seen the E-11 with a sling on it, but I know the Shoretroopers do use them on the E-22 rifles so it not an impossibility I guess. I just haven't seen this anywhere in the movie or the visual guide, promotional images, action figures or anywhere else for that matter. All the slings I've seen in Rogue One are only on E-22, & E-11D blaster rifles. Maybe it's possible they couldn't get the Shoretrooper mannequin at this event to actually hold the blaster so they just attached a sling in order to include it in the costume display? That's my guess. I'm not sure how they did it on that costume display, like I said they may have just quickly put it on before hand as a solution to include in it the display. Which could easily be done the same way they did it on a real 9mm Sterling L2A3 Mk4 Sub-Machine Gun; It was most likely designed with a single point sling attachment on the rear end cap but if soldiers wanted a 2-point sling attachment they just hooked the other end of the sling through the receiver holes near the front bayonet lug, this row of holes is not covered with T-Track on the E-11 so it's definitely possible it was done this way. Not to be confused with the Canadian C1 version of the Sterling used for the E-11 blasters in ROTJ which actually have a D ring included at the front as well as the back. ----------- They also often used to the front sight guard to attach the sling, although the sight guard wasn't designed for this it was made well enough to withstand it's own weight plus a full magazine of ammunition and a bayonet. The airsoft sterling is a different story, I doubt it could withstand it's own weight well let alone all the extra components of the E-11; Scope, Counter, Flashlight, Power Cylinders, T-Track, plus mounting Rails and hardware.-----------
  13. You should also consider doing the Medium Eagle logo with the "HENGSTLER" text. It's very popular as well, most of the other replicas available are based on the medium Eagle logo.
  14. Chris keep all the pieces, if you can't re-assemble the tiny little parts into the counter after recasting it let me know. Over the years I have become quite experienced at disassembling, servicing, and reassembling the Hengstler 400 Series Counters. I have a whole new respect for watch repair technicians or anyone who works with micro mechanics.
  15. Mark is correct, the longest T-Track in front of the magazine should extend the full length of the receiver and cover all the holes along the left side. Also the row of holes with the bayonet lug does not have T-Track, it is left uncovered just like the E-11 blasters in ANH.
  16. No, there is no Sling on the standard E-11, there has never been a been a sling or any reference of it. If there was I definitely would have ensured it was completely covered in this Blaster Reference Thread. Any slings you see in the photos are actually not on standard E-11 blasters. The slings are only seen on the variants E-11D and E-22. .
  17. Wow, that's just incredible! Amazing job on the M19 replicas Chris! You are truly talented. This is so accurate, and such an awesome looking scope! This M19 replica literally blows any other metal replicas I've ever seen out of the water! Including the cast metal Dark Energy Creations replica, that doesn't come anywhere close to the quality of this replica. This is the first time the M19 has been replicated on this level before, it's a first and the only one of it's caliber. This replica is already miles ahead of all the others, just wait until the functional lens kits are available for it!...
  18. Wow Jim, this looks absolutely incredible! You did an amazing job. This is officially the first ever Rogue One Stormtrooper armor available. I'm really glad you took the time to do it right, the end result is definitely worth the time and effort. It's accurate and it looks Awesome!
  19. I have no idea where they are getting the "B" from, I think someone either made that up or it's a mixup of the Deathtrooper E-11D. Again this image is directly from the Rogue One Visual Guide and just says "E-11 Blaster Rifle" Also I have no idea why the Shoretrooper CRL says "magazine shall be full length", I have yet to see that anywhere in the Movie, the Visual Guide, or at Celebration Europe. All the Shoretroopers with E-11 blasters are exactly identical to the Stormtoopers' blasters. In fact some of them are pictured in this blaster reference. They are basically all resin/rubber cast copies of each other.
  20. That's awesome, then all it will need is a nice gloss clear coat. I wonder which kind will be best for protecting the armor and shine up nice if you want to buff out any surface scratches, similar to using Novus Plastic Polish on ABS. Or do you think the armor will require primer and/or paint?
  21. I just wanted to say you guys also did an awesome job on the Power Cylinders as well as the Flashlight Rail, I would definitely be interested in getting a 3D printed set of both for my personal airsoft based Rogue One E-11 build, maybe you could upload the files to Shapeways. They look quite accurate, great job guys! -----------
  22. Yes that cropped photo of the Hengstler Counter must be a Shoretrooper E-22 blaster, understandably mistaken for an E-11 as that part of the E-22 is virtually identical. You can also see the Shoretrooper's brown MP40 magazine pouches in the photo. The Shoretroopers do also use standard E-11 blasters in the movie which means there is a possibility this could be an E-11 though I highly doubt it because I have yet see that greeblie on any of the other E-11 blasters. Although I can confirm both the Shoretrooper's E-22 and the Deathtrooper's E-11D have this greeblie. In fact I plan on building a Deathtrooper E-11D in the future and I need to get one of these greeblies for the build, yours look Looks really good!
  23. Well that is definitely a typo on the Shoretrooper CRL then because there is no "E-11B" that exists, I assume they meant either E-11D or E-22. Also here is a photo of a Shoretrooper and his E-22 blaster rifle with the sling, this image is from the Rogue One visual guide.
  24. This Flashlight Rail looks perfect, great job! ------- However I'm not sure about this greeblie which is why I didn't include it in my blaster reference thread. I don't believe the standard E-11 blaster has it, all the reference I can find in the movie and the visual guide indicates it does not have it or at least it's not consistent. It appears to be from the Deathtrooper E-11D, and the Shoretrooper E-22. ----------
  25. Wow Jim, The white parts look amazing! Are they painted white, or is it cast in white fiberglass? Glossy or Matte finish?
