  1. Not yet, I have gone back to a wired/chest amp setup for now. Hoping to have the audio setup strapped to me before even putting my armor on, simplifying things.
  2. It's been about 14 months since I began my journey and I want to thank everyone in Garrison Carida, First State Squad and FISD for all of their help and guidance during my build. I had my first troop last night with our friends in the Old Line Garrison; a Make-A-Wish foundation event for a 4 year old Star Wars fan heading to Disney to train with Lord Vader! Awesome group of people, the family was so appreciative and everyone had a great time. Makes all the work worthwhile. Plus, I get to hang out with fellow Star Wars geeks, which is an added bonus! 3. Hello! Requesting status update. TK-52421 Garrison Carida https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=24054 Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Looks like I need a low-latency transmitter and earbuds for this to work...glad I don't keep track of how much I spend on this armor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. TaoTronics transmitter and Supersun headset. i Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I just tried a Bluetooth transmitter and earbuds with my own scratch built SHA but the 1/2 second delay was super annoying. Not sure what other wireless options I have that aren't cost prohibitive. Hate having the headphones attached to the bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I am using ukswraths hovi mics and amp and built my own hearing assist from Canakit amp boards. Sound level isn't like an Aker, but no one has a problem hearing me, unless I guess I was across a noisy room. https://vimeo.com/199097421 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. A little shocked at how upset I am at her passing. I didn't know her personally, but it feels like I did. Like I just lost a family member. Another piece of my childhood has died. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I can concur with that idea. I have the back of my thoughts a hot water bath to make sure the overlapping side was as flush with the other side as I could get it. I used industrial white velcro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you both! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I use the rubber gloves that came with my Anovos kit. Little sweaty, but the added bonus is that I can still use my iPhone touch screen. Might upgrade to something later once I swap out the plastic guards for latex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I am working towards basic approval and have done some work on the belt that came with my Anovos kit. I added some plastic to the backs of the sides on each side of the center section and removed the two top Chicago screws, patching the holes with some material from the back. Will this work for basic approval until I take he plunge and step up to a Kittle belt conversion? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I figured that might be the case. This whole build has really been trying my perfectionist/OCD side while I attempt to satisfy my geeky 'screen accurate' side. A Rogue One build might be in my future, given the symmetry and screen accuracy combined in one, lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have added some paint to the ends of the frown on my Anovos bucket. Not sure if it looks right. Went off of ukswraths build and he left the sections between the new paint and existing paint, white. Just looks odd, like that white space should be painted black. Thoughts? 15. I bought two of these batteries and ran two 5v fans off one of them today for 8 hours. Kmashi is the brand, found on Amazon. I have some 15mm speakers and a small amp coming to make my own hovi mics.(sans voice effects for now) I could buy the perfect kit already made from ukswrath's site but I love messing with this stuff so I'll try it myself for now. If I muck it all up, I'll fork over the dough for his sweet setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I think I might get by with these, depending upon how far into the inside if the ab plate they go. I just picked these because the button was the 9mm size, almost spot on with the existing buttons. I'll keep messing with it and see how it turns out. May need to go a shallower route and attach custom buttons on the ends.
  17. Almost done with my Anovos armor. Mid-section shimming, shin re-do and helmet cleanup are still needed. But I also want to get some unique electronics mods in place. Working on turning the left 4 vertical ab buttons into working on/off switches. Anyone attempted this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ok, I decided to redo my pipe mannequin using 1" pipe instead. Way sturdier. Various joint angles help to pose it better. Went the tripod route for stability. This way I can just sit the pipes in the boots (temporary ones, TK Boots someday). Now to add the stuffing and black undersuit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Anyone had to extend the length of their shins? If I order another set of shins from Anovos when they become available, can I just take some of the bottom off the old and attach to the bottom of the new, paste/sand/polish to blend in? This short length seems to be the issue with the sniper knee digging into my kneecap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. One step closer to being able to see out of this thing! A little Velcro and trimming the lens holder and I'm all set! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Working on the lenses. Have two small plastic studs under the eyes then have a small screw to attach the lens. This keeps them in place while leaving plenty of space around the lens to allow airflow. Hard to even notice the gaps from the outside. I figure it will help even more when I get my fans installed. The next step will be to figure out how to mount some prescription glasses lenses from an old pair of my glasses so that I can see. I can't always wear my contacts so I have to have some way to attach them and detach them easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well, my armor had its public unveiling today at a work meeting. We did several Star Wars skits between the business presentations and I showed up at the end to kick out the bogus Empire! Was a blast! Definitely learned that I need to do some adjustments to my shins. They are way too small. Removing some return edges at the top and possibly adding some shins to the back(after cutting off too much...had the mislabeled shin issue). Also, the bucket is in desperate need of some fans. I was drenched. Even had condensation inside the shins and arm pieces! Perhaps a coolant-lined undersuit with a recirculating pump in the upper back section? [emoji12] Thigh fell down a bit while adjusting myself. Going to create a better belt/strap system. My team at work! Overall, a real fun experience, lots of people wanting photos and asking all kinds of questions. Good learning experience too. Will also work on some of the snap system for the clamshell rather than the Velcro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm not an expert in foreign shipping policies, but this seems to be an issue that should be taken up with your government, not Anovos or FedEx. Import fees are charged by your government, are they not? We don't have that stuff here in the States, like VAT taxes and all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
