No idea how I missed that, thanks anyways Joseph
-
Is he? I don't remember if he is now, he's on this thread he'll answer lol
-
Thank you Joseph. Don't mind Dave, he's just jealous of my sexy rivets haha
-
Oh this isn't a problem with the pulls or anything Mark. They look amazing and I'm 100% sure the notch falls where it's supposed to, I just don't know if they are going to push us to meet the 22mm×22mm rule or if it's more about closer alignment of the back of the notch.
-
My waist is over the 39 inches he's saying it's been increased to but think I see what you're saying now. It makes no sense to make a decision on a set of armour no one has really seen yet to see if it looks good like that or not.

Well I have to trim that spot either way due to the mould indent so I'll get that far and we'll see where you guys stand on it. If I have to fill then that's life
-
It's less nerves and more just wanting to know what's right in your guys eyes so I can get started on the shims day one. I think it'll be the hardest part of my build so I just want to get it out of the way. It would suck to do the shims just to find out that I actually have 2 more to do or that I have done them wrong. I'd be posing this question even without APs changes.
-
Well I'm doing a shim anyways. Im a 42 inch waist so itll still need an extra 3 inches at least so it would just add to the sanding and stuff I'd need to do no matter what. Tony is researching now so I'm sure he'll come back with a ruling soon.

Brattie's AP Build and Journey to The 501st

I've heard Dans stories before and they still make me laugh lol Just commenting to keep myself in the loop now that we've moved haha -
Messaged UKS to see if there is a for sure final verdict on this. I'm hoping it's the same as walters.
-
Gaz says special exemption at the end, not an actual ruling. Thank you Germain for aiming at that thread, I posted on it for clarity. I need to know asap it's the first thing I'm doing when my armour arrives. Personally I want the notch to line up with the butt because that looks good but I will do whatever I have to in order to make centurion.

TK-61972 Requesting ANH Hero Centurion Status [NE][157]
Knockerbot replied to Haribon72's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey guys, sorry Walt for dragging up your old post here. Now that AP has the notch built in, what should I do? "The other issue is a moral one. I didn't have the pleasure of offering assistance on Walt's build thread. In that section of the build, Walt asked a number of times if things looked good as the progress went on and it was always agreed that it was fine by some very experienced members. How can it be supported as ok there, and not here?? This kind of issue does not arise too often so I feel no remorse in categorizing this situation as a special exemption." What is the actual ruling on this? Is it case by case? Mine will be a hair longer than walts here if I have it right in my head. I don't want to miss Centurion because of the notch. -
So I just found out that AP has extended the abs above the notch but not beside, meaning it has a 3.5 or so inch notch instead of a 22mm notch. How accurate to 22mm does it need to be for centurion? Does it need a return edge and does the notch have to actually line up with the postier? What's the tolerances on this for centurion is basically my question?

Since the CRL says "roughly 22mm" how rough is rough?

Also that's not how the counter is going to end up looking still need to build that. Also fill the cracks around the lenses and paint them back black. -

Got the lenses in.... PEW PEW!! Tore them out of a cheap monocular from amazon Learned a valuable lesson though. First shape the hole to size, then wash, Paint, then glue. Don't paint first because now I will forever have white on the inside near the edge. So there is a tiny gap caused by the resin sight not actually being round the MFer is an oval. Haven't filled and painted that yet. Got too angry about it.Also the white you see is caused by my dumb butt using super glue on black paint lol. Didn't dry well at all. Then I got bored today and built a stand. Not even near finished though. I'm adding another U bolt in the back to hold up the clip and welding a ring to it to keep the blaster from falling but still making it look like it's just sitting there on flat bars I hope. I'm going for an industrial feel. Painting the base black, leaving the ubolts bare. Still need to sand, paint, trim the bolts shorter, and when I get a TK number get a little plaque made for it. Might not add a third u bolt and find a way to magically keep it up. -

Hey guys so I'll do a real fix up on this thread this afternoon I think. I have some stuff to post from my blaster and I got a motorcycle suit and neck seal a few weeks ago that I'll take pics of. Thanks for following, makes it better to have people who are interested in the same things on here. It's great the support we give each other. -

I started a grade 12 Math course last night. They said to do one lesson a week but I did 2.5 in less than 24 hours. 17.5 to go lol. Only credit I need so I'm doing it fast as hell.
I'm hoping to get into college as a CNC Programmer for a second career so it may actually help with this stuff, would definitely help building my astromech. I hated working in TV. It was a waste of an education and a decade. Always remember kids, great pay doesn't make it a great job.
That all being said this course takes the spot of being most important so I think something at the middle of summer might be a better aim for me. -
