1. Hi Shawn,
Have a look through this thread:
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/page-1

Cheers,
Scott
 2. Good stuff!
 3. Hi Matt, looks good!
A couple of things I noticed which probably won't matter for approval, but would just improve the overall look.
Try to bring the drop box up on your right hand side (left side in photo) to match the other side (which looks perfect).
For EIB/Centurion, the rivets you've used for the ab/kidney and the thigh ammo belt need to be dome head, yours look like they might be open pop rivets?
Do you have a strap from your bicep to forearm? That would help to reduce the amount of black space between them.
Good luck!
 4. Looks awesome Brian, well done, love the Jawas!
 5. Haha, I kept running out of snaps as well.
That sounds like about the same range of movement I have as well.
With holding the thighs up, either a belt system like you said, just a couple of loops around a belt. Other option is a couple of snaps glued in the ab plate with straps holding them up to that.
 6. I haven't yet, but I think I will on my right arm, the left one fits pretty well. I don't have problems with it twisting, it's just a bit loose.
 7. Hi all, I've had a big few days of fixing up little bits and pieces that were picked up on my approval photos. First was tidying up the paint on my helmet, as there were some parts were it was a bit rough. (My helmet (eFx) has really become the difficult middle child of this build. I have ordered an ATA one and will get stuck into that as soon as it arrives). I'll never be an artist, but I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out. Next, it was picked up that I had a large amount of flat space showing under the rear cover strip on my thighs. I was a bit in limbo about what to do with this, thinking a larger cover strip might make the ones on my calf look out of place. Luckily, I realised I'd made a pretty amateur error originally when I constructed the thighs and I had a heap of room in them, so I've made them smaller, they now fit better and the cover strip looks good. Winning all round! Trimming cover strips so they don't bite me. Another problem I'd struggled with was my shins riding up, I tried Altairs method with varying degrees of success. Due to a lack of sewing machine (and the ability to use one), and also not being too keen on sticking anything to my boots, I came up with this: Which joins to this: I walked around the house in this for about an hour and not one problem. I was a bit worried about the loop pulling out of the boots, but there is no real stress on it, and I don't think it will be an issue. I also dropped the chest plate a little bit as it was a bit high. All up, I am really happy with the better look these little bits and pieces have given my armour, will get some new approval shots in soon!
 8. Thanks Ukswrath, you don't happen to have the measurement from the last box to the end of the belt do you? I think 45mm sounds right?
 9. Hi Adam,
Looking good. From the photo it looks like the top of your shins overlap still? They should just butt together.
For making a hole in the canvas belt I used the hole punch that came with my snaps and it worked well, maybe a leather punch or something similar?
With the plastic part of the belt, make sure your ends are the same size, I know there is a diagram somewhere on FISD with measurements, I just can't find it at the moment, hopefully someone else can link to it.
Also, the 45 degree cuts should line up with the edge of your canvas belt.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Scott
 10. Yep, that's the right colour, must just be the lighting. Good stuff!
 11. Good clean up work. I think with the cover strips you should find your shins are easier to close. I'm not sure what you meant by they are 'mostly for show'? They should have half glued onto the outside part of the shin and then close onto the other half. There is a pretty good diagram here:
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27206-back-thighs-and-shins-ap-armor/
It might be the lighting, but I think the blue on your control panel looks a little dark?

Just remember to keep rereading the CRL and check other build threads and I'm sure you'll be able to reach Centurion, don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions.
Good luck!
 12. E6000 should be available at Spotlight in Australia, its not cheap over here though.
 13. First lot of approval shots I took were too dark, so I took advantage of a sunny day yesterday and sent some more in. Fingers crossed!
 14. Thanks Joseph, somehow I knew E-6000 was going to be the answer!
 15. When using nylon for the snaps, what glue have people used for gluing the nylon to the armour? I have used my hot glue gun but have found a few of them have been coming off. Thanks
 16. Very nice! I guess we'll see a Centurion thread soon?
 17. Hi Shane,
Great job, good luck!
You might need to move your drop box a little bit so it lines up with the edge of the ammo belt.
 18. Hi Adam, I also have an ATA kit and have done inside and outside cover strips for everything and still have some spare. I think I got two big sheets and one smaller one from memory.
 19. Thanks Ukswrath! I'm pretty lucky that Sly is happy to answer an endless stream of questions!
 20. No worries Chris. fit it around your helmet before cutting it, then when you do cut it, like gmrhodes said, make it slightly longer than it needs to be and it should hold itself in fine.
 21. Hats off to you, you still managed to make it look awesome.
 22. Hi Stein, good luck! I just have one question, it looks like something strange has happened to your kidney plate when you put on your suit, especially on the back photo it looks to be sitting on a funny angle? Maybe it got caught on your undersuit? (It doesn't seem to be a problem in your EIB thread) Cheers, Scott
