1. Hi Shane,
Great job, good luck!
You might need to move your drop box a little bit so it lines up with the edge of the ammo belt.
2. Hi Adam, I also have an ATA kit and have done inside and outside cover strips for everything and still have some spare. I think I got two big sheets and one smaller one from memory.
3. Thanks Ukswrath! I'm pretty lucky that Sly is happy to answer an endless stream of questions!
4. No worries Chris. fit it around your helmet before cutting it, then when you do cut it, like gmrhodes said, make it slightly longer than it needs to be and it should hold itself in fine.
5. Hats off to you, you still managed to make it look awesome.
6. Hi Stein, good luck! I just have one question, it looks like something strange has happened to your kidney plate when you put on your suit, especially on the back photo it looks to be sitting on a funny angle? Maybe it got caught on your undersuit? (It doesn't seem to be a problem in your EIB thread) Cheers, Scott
7. Hi all, my main build thread is over on the Redback Garrison site, but thought I would post what is hopefully the final stages here, I've really enjoyed this build and in the process have picked up a pretty awesome wrangler in my wife! Suggestions from the last test fit were to add the straps around the biceps (done with Han hooks), trim the cover strips on the forearms and biceps, clean up the bottom of my thighs so they are less 'stabby-like', shorten my crotch strap, Sly also pointed out to me I had to trim more of the return edge off the chest and back plates. Have covered all this, so here we go! More suggestions/constructive criticism/non-constructive criticism all welcome.
8. Hi Chris, use the flat groove to fit it to your helmet and the 'S' part goes towards the inside.
9. Good luck Connor!
Above all else, make sure you have fun with it!
10. Hi Connor,
I know where you are coming from as I was in exactly the same position. I think you are much better building the suit yourself. I've slowly got the tools together, really apart from the Dremel nothing was that expensive. Get some contacts in your local Garrison, they will no doubt offer advice and help where they can.
I don't think it would be more expensive to build it yourself, and in any case you would probably have to modify a pre-made one a bit to fit you properly.
It's pretty daunting, but there are people all over the world willing to offer their help, after the first cut it hurts less and less, although my wife still shudders whenever I mention the word 'cut'!
11. Good luck Desmond, something that probably won't matter for EIB, but I think would for Centurion is that it looks like you have a snap on the cod piece instead of a split rivet.
12. This is amazing. Well done. I only hope I can help to bring the same happiness and joy one day.
