  1. Well that's the plan, but the less I have to do later the better.
  2. Have your computer open and read about the step you are taking THOROUGHLY before cutting or using tools on any piece armour. If you're unsure DO NOT proceed, step away and ask a pro first. If you are 5 strong IPA's deep, remember armour building is not a rave it's not going to be better or go well for you. If using an exacto knife, cut away from yourself. And if you can buy gloves. that's just for starters.
  3. Hey guys I got kind of hung up on the helmet last night trying to make it fit better with my modular foam system. Having a hard time with my glasses now :L She's snug in there... Don't mind the cigarettes I'm holding them for a friend lol I also stuck together my shins, Pandatrooper's tutorials are awesome! Coverstrips cut for the shins. And the tour de force... My new belt! cut perfectly to my belt sight unseen by our friend Mark Harrison at AP. Mark you're the best! I'm really dragging my heels with the old snap and strap, It kind of freaks me out. The leg sizing also is intimidating... Those centurion rivet placements are also giving me the willies. With all of the screw ups I've made I'm trying my best not to mess anything else up...
  4. Got the thigh outsides finished, coverstrips are a real pain. With E6000 it take like 3 days to do inner and outer coverstrips for one pair of appendage armour. I also cut, sanded and put the inner strips on my shin armour, little difficult figuring out which part was what was inside and out of each side but Walter's ESB thread and a bit of knowledge about human anatomy helped. And finally some more shaping of my hand guards to make them look more like screen caps in ESB.
  5. True It's just taped in there I can always rip it out later.
  6. Stellar stuff buddy! Congrats on your designation really proud of you bud! I also wanted to thank you for the kind words and support I look forward to seeing your progress you're on to great things my man! I'll raise a Foster's to your success mate! Lol cheers bud Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  7. You probably won't need a ton, 2" is probably good maybe like a metre or so?
  8. Alright moving along. The TD is complete, no space between the clips and caps! with black screws (they're not flathead screws so may need to be replaced later for accuracy) Right Thigh coverstripped and hole drilled for the ammo pack Left thigh being cured with coverstrip Ammo pack and sniper knee cut and sanded And of course... How could I earn the nickname mesh and not put some in my bucket! lol Still need to size the thighs do the shins/calves, strapping and hand plates and more foam in the helmet but we're getting there!
  9. Thanks bud. They look fine! Is that cut right through? Or is it just aesthetic. You could totally use Novus on that it'll come out I love that stuff. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  10. lol I actually love the painting part did all hand painted its the only part I think looks ok. But then again I'm way too self-critical.
  11. look's way better than mine, I think I need to redo my tube stripes now.
  12. Terrible what's going on out there, our hearts go out to all of you Albertans I donated I hope everyone does a little something to help out our countrymen and women
  13. I feel that buddy. Some days are harder than others to get motivated, the fire goes in spurts but enough of those spurts you get to the finish line (eventually). Starting to realize to experience running the race without craning my neck to see the finish line.
  14. well over the weekend I tweaked the thighs a bit they are curing, I also finished my TD hand painted grey and got the clips on it looks really nice and I am pretty proud of it! Sunday was Mother's day and I was out most of the day so I took a rest quite literally I slept most of the day after. I think the end is in sight!
  15. Awesome man! Good luck! Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  16. I went home on my lunch break, yeah I went a little too far, I know it's going to get pointed out at the higher approvals. It didn't look bad just not accurate. I have now replaced 1) 2 sets of ears 2) An entire helmet 3) A set of ESB decals 4) Shoulder Straps 5) Ab Button Plate 6) A Belt I research so much everyday but it's like its all lost on me by the time I get home... Gotta shape up! No more hasty actions or OCD.
  17. Totally Dan. I should have done it in the first place Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  18. No at work. I know I already screwed this up too Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  19. I am very worried I made those belt corners way to big
  20. Joe what did you use to glue your snap plates?
  21. That coverstrip on your wrist is definitely going to be a pain later bud. I would suggest trimming that baby down.
  22. I attached my left thigh armour fronts with the cover strip. The picture was corrupted Unfortunately the bottoms of the armour in the front don't line up exactly so I'm going to have to do some modding to curl the outside piece up a bit. The right side is trimmed and cover strips are curing and I left a space for the ammo pack. Other than that I cut my belt out with the 45 degree bevels and glued my TD together, it's not painted yet but I will tape and paint around the caps and control square thing.
