Brattie's AP Build and Journey to The 501st
ComradeDave replied to Brattie's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
You're very right. I am notorious for this, I am obsessed with Russian/Soviet history, much to my parents and grandparents, chagrin... I am not Russian lol -
Round 2 of teeth cutting... this was a lot easier using the dremel with drum sander first method. I then used my exacto knife to cut the excess. I did the same for the eyes.. Square enough comrades?

I guess I'm not going to be part of this party of Scots either Eric... you can come eat pyrohy and cabbage rolls with this Pollack lol -
hey guys we're doing a bunch of moving this weekend so I haven't done too much. good news is that now we have fast internet at the house so my progress can be documented in real time! Ill keep you posted.

Uh oh... I noticed that my paint is uncapped... I hope I remembered to put the cap back on last night. That is beer next to the boots I hope it didn't cloud my judgement too much

Lol ANYWAY, Some gifts arrived from a couple of friends of mine. 1.) Thanks Aaron "Pyrates" Gibson and Mark "AP" Harrison for getting these to me so quickly you guys rock out loud! 2.) Pyrates also included a lovely little surprise! Those ice breakers are like one of my favourite candies! I know they are technically mints but I eat like 20 of them right away lol, thanks man! He was also nice enough to separate the ears for me. Class act right there 3.) Here is Bucket mk.II from Mark, got to me in 2 days flat, what a guy! 4.) Finally my Boot progress with the Angelus paint. Couple more coats and I should be set.

Is this worth buying?
ComradeDave replied to ComradeDave's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I really want a doopys DLT but they play favourites with the Europeans -
I also realized why not many people are seeing or replying to this thread. ESB definitely doesn't get as much traffic as ANH. Cheers to my loyal brothers who keep cheering me on!

lol you're the one who told me this! Ken Morse from our garrison gave me quite the paddling about the mesh. I may or may not been given the moniker "mesh" because of it, and Danny "MechaPumpkin" Steinberg suggested I just start wearing mesh tanktops lol -

Well Lads and lasses... Helmet attempt 2 is going to be getting underway. My Bucket set from Mark of AP is coming today and I should be getting the ears from Pyrates soon. This is a lesson a valuable one at that for newbies reading this thread. NEVER USE HEAT GUNS ANYWHERE NEAR IMPORTANT PIECES OF YOUR ARMOUR!!! SERIOUSLY, don't do it, be smart lol, don't be like ComradeDave. if you're lucky the best you can hope for is an extra messed up helmet for another build, and awesome Detachment Mates that will come to your rescue.

HWT: Shoulder Straps For 501st approval: Shoulder Straps are securely mounted in front and may free float in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive. For level two certification (if applicable): No visible rivets are allowed. Shoulder straps are lightly scuffed,(battle worn), but not weathered like a Sandtrooper (TD). For level three certification (if applicable): Shoulder Straps are glued in front. ANH Stunt: Shoulder Straps For 501st approval: These shall be securely mounted in front and may free float in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive. For level two certification (if applicable): No visible rivets are allowed. For level three certification (if applicable): These shall free float in back. These shall be glued in front. The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. pretty similar is i did An ANH/ESB shoulder set up itd be acceptable for HWT cen approval
-
tis a non issue then this can be done.
-
lol man, I'm just saying I can do ANH too now. and HWT is basically a kitted out ANH Stunt. so I have everything I need for the base armour.
-
Will do. I got over the helmet dilemma. I was going to buy an additional helmet anyway so this is actually a blessing in disguise my impulsiveNess has afforded me the ability to make my armour interchangeable between ANH and ESB. Couple extra ears, some new screws and nuts, cut out a couple lenses and get a new s trim voila this can become a HWT and ESB trooper build!

I'm just going to paint it anh um no surgeon my friend
