  1. I managed to get the helmet done this weekend..... I've still got a few pieces of armour to weather. Then the fun starts!
  2. Great stuff as always Pete....... Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it all together.....
  3. Sand paper, Wood stain, newspaper and lots of elbow grease. I'll start another thread in the tutorial section soon.
  4. Yeah, I'[m working on getting the whole suit done but I'm working on the ANH Helmet mould today........more to come....
  5. Vern, they are supposed to look dirty. Like its been worn in the forest of Endor and kicked about for 30 years. Just how I love my props. I can't wait to see others take on our armour and weather it up.....
  6. I thought it about time I pulled my finger out and finished the CFO ROTJ armour I've had half finished for a while. After Pete's review thread and his awesome weathering of one of our suits I have had the encouragement to crack on and have a go myself. I've gone for the screen used Forest of Endor look..... I'm not finished yet and still have some armour parts to complete, the little fiddly parts and the helmet which I am really looking forward to weathering.... Tell me what you think.
  7. Echoooooooo...............that .........Satin Black all the way.
  8. It's wonderful to see someone else's take on my armour. That's it, I'm weathering my build now. Stand by for something a little different. I'm going for that dirty forest look of Endor Troopers. I'm going to use the old film prop trick of wood staining the scratches and recesses and buffing to the required state using scotch pads. I'm working on the ABS version. Back to this awesome build. Pete you are doing us proud buddy!
  9. It looks amazing! I love the weathering. Brings it to a whole new level. Can't wait to see more.
  10. It's best to remove the stencil when the paint is still semi wet. If you leave it to dry then you have a chance of lifting the paint with the stencil.
  11. Looking good Rob! I'm going to be building one myself soon out of a MGC sterling..... I have a few pipe builds in the cupboard, I really must get round to finishing them! Looking forward to some more pics mate.....
  12. Brian, what are you going to be pulling? I hate to ask! I hope you feel better soon Jesse.
  13. I'm here if you need anything......... If you want to see our armour built stay tuned for Stukatrooper's up and coming build thread. Otherwise PM me if you need anything else......
  14. I have a great idea of adding warp drive to my car and turning it into the millennium falcon..... I have no mechanical skills, the technology doesn't exist yet and I'm not quite sure if it would fit in a parking space..... BUT I reckon with enough research, money and a load of free skills from everyone else except me we could get this done. ......
  15. Rom Fx has my vote. Loud, static bursts, great voice compression, small and next to no feedback.
  16. Yeah, what do I know......
  17. Put them in the oven at 140 degrees for 5 mins. Then with oven gloves pull them out and bend them over some thing the correct bend curvature and hold for 30 secs or so. That should do it.
  18. elastic bands! You mean elastic. sorry didn't get what you meant. Most haberdashery shops will sell it by the foot/meter. I have a local fabric shop that sell all thicknesses.
  19. Google is a wonderful thing. You type in what you are looking for and you usually find it. -----
  20. Here's a shot of one shoulder bell from ANH but they really did differ from shoulder bell to shoulder bell....... In fact the return edges were so different on every bit of armour there is no wrong or right. Some had returns some didn't...
  21. Appliance white is good. It's slightly off White and glossy. Looks like aged White and ages quite quickly. You have to test different makes over there as I'm in the UK. It's used for fridges, washing machines etc .
