Seems there is an issue with: http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/ Saying my email has been blocked, then when I click the link to try to resolve it - there is an error!
Send me a pm with the email address and what the full error message is and I will pass it to the tech team to look at.

Welcome to FISD.
If you're already cleared as a stormtrooper may I reccomend you have a look at the Advanced tactics schemes to get a higher level of approval: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/95-expert-infantryman-program/

Hi Douglas,
Welcome to FISD.
If you do want to try for 501st and join in the fun trooping sign up on the UKG forum (http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/) and post there. The armourer team will be able to guide you towards clearance. The FX kit will probably need some work but I believe we have cleared trooperes with the SDS helmet. Accuracy is important within the garrison so you will need to meet the standards if you want to troop.
I'm not trying to scare you off here, just set the expection of the standards.
Chris.

The ISD is a solid mainstay in the UKG supply chain.
I have the silicone handguards, the neck seals are good (saw one at the weekend) and the boots are too from what I've heard. -
Was having a browse if you're latest updates on UKG last night. Helmet looks cracking.

Here there's the offence of careless driving and I'm pretty sure wearing a bucket to drive would get you nicked for that.
Even IF it's legal it's still incredibly reckless to endanger yourself and others.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to FISD but if you're a Sandtrooper person you probably want to pop over to MEPD, home of all things dirty.

Welcome to the FISD Stephen!
First things first it's good you're researching this, there's some utter tripe out there if you're not carfeul. However living in the UK we have easier access to, in my opinion, the best kits in the world.
What I'll suggest is you sign up over at the http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/. Post an intro thread and state you're intentions and a member of the armourer team will be able to help you. We have many shorter troopers cleared, 5' 10" is about the ideal, and they will be able to guide you to the right kit for you.
If lineage is important to you then that kit you've located is probably what you want but if you're open to others then you will have a choice to make, which may be lead by your height. As I said the armourer team are all very experianced and will be able to guide you.
The UKG are a welcoming group and they have helped me along alot in the short time I've been a member. If you have any further questions feel free to PM me or post them here.

I know a couple of people with the RS commisions (1 TK & 1 TB) and the fit on both was excellent. When you order they ask for measurements I believe to get it right.
Down sides:
- It's more expensive
- the TK came with some yellowing of the ABS where they used a glue acclerator. He did complain but not sure what happened.
- You didn't build it so when you need to make some repairs, which you will, you won't be as experianced with the materials and techniques.
Pros will be you don't need the space and time to build it or the large pile of "other bits" people forget and all add to the cost.
I wouldn't worry about clearance, so long as the measurements are right and so the fit good even the pickiest GML shouldn't find issue with an RS.
I personally enjoyed building my suit but I also know it's not for everyone.

The RWA is a nice kit, and the maker is a great chap. He's helped me a lot with my build which isn't even made by him.

I think there's a lot of parts on the new armours that will need to be cast, the back plate details being a perfect example. The actual armour it's self looked to be molded in some way, just vac forming is what the market is current set up for and is what people know.

What's it printed in, semiflex?

Sounds like you'll do fine. Slow and steady is definitly the way with this. On mine I swapped between the armour and Doopy kits to keep things a bit varied.
Have a ready through some of the build threads for the DD, they can be brought to a near perfect replica state if you want to. Don't feel you need to especially for a trooping blaster.
Make sure you ask any questions before cutting or gluing bits and you'll be fine.

From what I've gathered so far, all the available Sterling parts kits people are getting come damaged from drilling. Is this correct or not?
Not sure I follow? What kits do you mean?

Rogue One Stormtrooper Reference CE 2016 by Christopher Pearson, on Flickr
The under suit is similar to the DT and ST under suits, not rubber definitely fabric, and of course different fabric to both the others.
Construction seems to be ribbed for elbow, knees, shoulders and top arms (assume whole arm?), chest and neck seal. As with the shore trooper there's a mesh section under the armpits. It appears that the hip section is smooth with no ribbing.

The RS TK kits have two left shins. I've confirmed this with RS. You'll want to remove the returns from the bottom. <br><br>
Good luck with your build! I'll be following! ☺
I belive this is because the original suit they own has, wait for it, 2 left shins!
Looking good! Your eyes could be trimmed out further as there's still a bit of material in there.<br><br>
RS is a great kit
I don't think so, they look fine. Look at this reference image, you can see theres a small lip most the way round.
I would also say your ear gaps are completely fine as is.
For a tutorial on painting the traps I did one for my bucket here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35424-themaninthesuitcase-anovos-ahn-stunt-build/?p=479783 if you scroll up a few posts you'll see how I did the tears too.
When doing the tube templates you really do need to burnish them down and seal them. I preferred to use clear rather than white as white is notoriously hard to colour match and stands out when it doesn't. Let the clear dry as per the tin, for my Humbrol this was 6 hours. I think if you scroll up a few more posts you'll find how I did my tube stripes.
What you use to remove the old paint will depend on what you used. Be careful to test what ever product first on an offcut to ensure that it doesn't damage the plastic or make it brittle.

Welcome to FISD, what armour did you go for? Some will be easier to accommodate you than others.
Chris.

Welcome to FISD. I'm sure your garisson mates will make sure you end up with a great set of armour.
-
Welcome Chris, would be cool to see some photos of how you're getting on.
-
ok guys I've been trying to upload my photos via photo bucket according to the instructions you posted (thank you, by the way ). but when I get the picture on here I hit post but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? I've already gotten a lot done and want to post some pics to get ready to submit.
Looks like the image address is a bit messed up. Are you trying to put multiple images in one [ img ] [/ img] tag? You can only have on in each, so if you have multiple images you will need one set of img tags for each image.

Welcome to FISD. I wouldn't worry about age, at 32 I am very much one of the younger ones at most troops I go to!

Welcome to FISD, would be great to see some photos of how you're getting on.

I've got to pick up some craft supplies tomorrow so I might see if I can get a black fabric marker to save me on that last bit of acetone rubbing.

Hi Sean,
Welcome to FISD. Sounds like you are ready for this. I'd sign up with your local garrison, one of the California ones, I'm not sure on the borders! http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php#garrisons They will be able to guide you with the prefered local suppliers and armour makers.
Also do as much reading of things like the build threads and Expert Tactics applications as you can. This will give you an idea of what's involved and help you along. I believe that armour parties are common in your area so that may well help you with the "not crafty" issue.
