LoveMonkey's AM 2.0 Build Thread
LoveMonkey replied to LoveMonkey's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
If I remember right there is about an inch and a half the is hidden up in the cap of the helmet. It seems though, when I put it together way back, it just naturally wants to ride up into the cap. I'm not sure if I can try tilting it down. I did try inserting some foam in between the cap and the extra plastic to try and force it down but that didn't seem to work. -
LoveMonkey's AM 2.0 Build Thread

Sorry to everyone for resurrecting this old thread, but I had a question for some of the pros. Anyone have any suggestions for raising the brow on my bucket? The AM bucket seems to want to sit flush with the top of the eyes and since I would like to go for level 2 certification over at MEPD, I thought I'd ask. -

One of my favorite characters from the movies and EU books is Wedge Antilles. In ANH, he was Red 2. When you change the letters to numbers (1-a, etc.), Red 2 becomes 18542. A tribute to one of my favorite, if the favorite, character. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed, IOC can help big time. Be careful with cosplaysky, there are very mixed reviews and even if you send detailed measurements they can get it wrong. Make sure and do hit research before ordering from them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Foam lining inside your Armor
LoveMonkey replied to TKZombie's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I've been using insulation foam, which was okay in the winter because it helped me stay warm. I'd like to transition to one of these two options to help me stay a bit cooler. Which one can not only keep me cooler but be somewhat sweat-resistant? -

I had problems with my ears as well. I had to drill new holes for it to sit properly. -
How 'battle worn' is too worn?
LoveMonkey replied to Pixelito's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The other thing I would say is to check with your GML before you do any weathering/battle-wearing. They have the final say for your approval. You could always get really dirty and become a TD over in the sandbox! -
Thirded, Navajo Bro's guide is amazing!

Good luck with your build. I love my AM kit. Check out Navajo Bro's and ukswrath's builds, they have tons of good information. -
Totally agree with ukswrath, trooper1 pauldrons over at MEPD are top notch quality. I love mine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here are some pictures of my Hyperfirm B-grade E-11 that I weathered. Not that it didn’t come with some weathering to begin with, but I wanted the weathering to stand out a bit more in pictures than what it was. The detail is so good on the Hyperfirm that I wanted it showcased in pictures. I dry-brushed some acrylic gunmetal grey paint on the areas that already had some weathering to make it stand out a bit more and then added it around where I thought it would look good. I’m pretty happy with the results. Also, the d-ring on the back is homemade using a coat hanger, thus its irregular shape as I used pliers and a bit of elbow grease to bend it into shape. --------

I have a pair of plain ones from trooperbay that I'll sell you. You'll have to paint them but that shouldn't be too hard. PM for info, I'm willing to take offers.

Congratulations to our new Detachment Leader - Dark CMF

Congrats! -
Looking at your pictures and comparing it to my own, I can see the same spots where the weathering is on both. Yours seems a bit darker, more pronounced. I'm just adding a little more to those same areas.

It did - to a degree. I want to add a little more so it will really shine in pictures, especially some of the awesome detail on it. I'm hoping to work on it this weekend and I'll post pictures of it when I do.

Congrats on being so close to approval! I wondered what happened with your build after Freedom Festival.
