Well, the entire point of the CRL is to standardize the requirements for the three levels of approval. So if you comply with all of the CRL points you should be approved. If you feel that anyone is being treated unfairly or being required to do something that other garrisons aren't then it needs to be brought up. Glad you decided to stick with this and go for approval.

If you just do some basic things like gluing some of the parts you should be very close for basic approval. As others have said it is up to your garrison's interpretation but if you meet all the requirements for basic approval they should not be denying anyone because they are not perfectly screen accurate. That is what EI and Centurion levels are for.

I am 6'2" and 195 lbs with a 33" waist so I am tall and average build. So far it looks like the only issue I am going to have with the Anovos kit is I will have a 1/2"-1" gap on the AB plate to kidney joint. I can close it with tape when test fitting but it is a little uncomfortable. Out of the box it should still be basic and EI approved for my body size. For Centurion I will have to make shims, be a little uncomfortable or lose a few pounds. Keep in mind that no armor is 501st approved out of the box. The one thing that will stop even basic approval is fit. You could buy someones Centurion approved armor and if it is not modified to fit you, you might not even get basic approval.

I bought one of the cheap counters from Amazon and plan on installing it inside the counter with my TK number once I get approved.

Anybody tried the screws for holding the cover plates on for electrical outlets and switches? I will have to look as some this weekend. They appear to be the correct size, are tapered, have a flat slot and come with white heads from the factory.

Hello Steve, what did you use to remove the Anovos frown paint without damaging the ABS?

As far as I have seen the ones actually used in the movies were painted completely flat black except for the grip that was gloss black. The weathering and detail work is to make them look like actual Sterlings but as I said movie correct is just flat black.

So I just received my arming suits... The quality appears to be good but the sizing is an issue. I am 6'2 190 lbs and my standard clothing size is the same as my motorcycle gear and even wetsuits. In everything I am a 32" waist 34" inseam. All gloves I am a Large and all shirts a Mens Large. I ordered a XL arming suit and Medium and XL gloves. The gloves are black rubber of good quality and appear to be true to size. The Medium is too small and the XL is too big so I should have ordered a Large like every other glove I own. My bad. The XL pants are perfect as they are snug but length and waist are spot on. The Shirt is a joke. Like I said I wear a large in anything but this XL has the correct arm length but the body is skin tight and looks like a tube top. It is the shortest top I have ever seen. The front comes to my belly button and the back is about half way up my back. The top is way off. Hopefully the tag is wrong and it is miss labeled but I doubt two would be the same. It is going back and hopefully the 2XL is better.

FYI Anovos just released 300 more kits available for immediate order and shipment at the $650 price.

Could you post a picture of the polishing compound you used? They make quite a few levels or grit. Also any idea where we can buy the mesh? Your bucket looks great.

FYI, I found that you can get the Humbrol paint direct here in the States for $2.50 per can but I am not sure what the shipping is from them in Washington state.

I know they were in a hurry but going to all the trouble of aluminum bucks you would have thought some of these little details would have been so easy and not overlooked. To have things like the teeth so out of wack seems dumb. For the price I am so happy with it but I do think they could have done a little better on the details.

If that is the case then he needs to be fired. It would be easy to say nope, I didn't receive it and have them pay you what you are out even if you did. All you have to say is check the signature and you could prove it wasn't yours. If you wanted to be dishonest that is. BTW: My wife just sent me a picture of the BBB sitting in my entryway.

You will not get a notice of shipment yet. If you want to check you will need to create a FedEx account and see if you have any shipments in the name that the order was placed in.

Yours will probably go to a Fedex hub a few hours away just to come back to your place 10 minutes away. LOL. If I send my neighbor a letter it goes over an hour away to a sorting facility just to come back.

I ordered on Saturday during Celebration and Fedex says they have a package for me that is out for delivery today. Signature required. But I am only a few hours from Carson, CA where it originated.

Well, I can say after watching that video I am extremely disappointed.... In the fact that I didn't buy more at $350.

+1 I totally agree. Anovos appears to be a stand up company and we have been supporting them and they have been great with updates but when you have a "return policy" stated it should remain as indicated when we all placed our orders. It is not ok to change it with two days notice. For all new orders that would be fine but they have always maintained that they can't show us what it looks like and what the final product will be but tell us we can cancel before it ships. I hope it is just us misinterpreting their latest newsletter and their actual intent was that Tier 1 orders shipping first have to cancel by the 20th because shipping will already be processing. That would make more sense than the blanket statement that all orders would have to be canceled by the 20th. Then say something like all Feb 15 orders must be canceled by the 10th or something like that. BTW: If these kits are shipping within a few days there should be no reason now why they can't post some final pictures. They have posted pictures of the box so why not open it. Anovos, your killing me Smalls!

Not if their letter today is correct. It states that if you don't cancel by tomorrow you will have to pay shipping and re-stocking fees. I am waiting to hear back from them if this is just for the first wave of shipments or all orders.

I just sent them an email for clarification on the cancellation policy as that is in very bad taste to change the policy this late in the game. If we find out the kits are crap and want to cancel before they ship I think they should have to honor their policy in place at the time of pre-order placement.

Great news but I do have a big issue with the cancellation policy. At the time of sale they stated that we could cancel at any point before it shipped for a full refund. I would think they have to honor that as that was the policy at the time of sale.

I could be and probably am wrong but my understanding was that it is being made and shipped from China to a fulfillment facility that I assumed was in the USA. This would be why they are saying that the shipment is in transit from the manufacturing facility and is in customs now on it's way to the fulfillment facility. As soon as the fulfillment facility has all the various bits and pieces they will final package them, generate shipping labels and then ship to us. I would find it hard to believe all of our individual boxes are coming from China and individually have to go through customs. But again what do I know.
