  1. It's more fun to build. Don't go to the dark side haha. Those are nice though. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  2. Haha, tell me about it. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  3. Here is what I am planning on doing. Since the part that the disc is on is raised going by the reference pics, I am going to make a piece of wood for that area. I panned on holding it on with rare earth magnets, one glued to the wood and one on the handle. This will let me take it off and have access to the battery compartment. 4. Thanks. Now that my armor is basically done I will be getting back to this. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the kind words. Once I am done with the armor I can finish this. Not much left besides the front and rear sights. Then paint! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks guys! Been a little slow going because the arrival of armor, but not much left to do. Can't wait to paint it. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  7. So my armor has arrived which has side tracked this a bit. I did take a few minutes today to get the wires on. First I notched some grooves. After that it was easy to just put the wire around and twist on the bottom. One other small update. I was cruising the MEPD boards and came across what they are using for the conical disk. It's a 3/4" beveled washer by Danco part #35101B. I ordered it (had to order 5, but it was still less than $2. If anyone needs one I can send them). Here is what it looks like: Looks slightly big for this build, maybe I will sand one to a smaller size and see how it looks. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  8. The less I have to replace, the more my wallet like me haha Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  9. Ordered 4/19... Got my armor here in NY on Wednesday 1/27. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  10. Just like the other armors out there they have tells. I think the Anovos frown will be a tell. This is my first armor and love it. Very pleased. Will probably get rid of hard had liner for some pads. Not much else I think I will change. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  11. For the neck seal I found it easier to zip up if the zipper was on the front of your neck, then spin it around to the back. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  12. Good info. Thanks Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I will get some more time this week to work on it. Did you just twist the wire together and hide the little twist?
  14. The blizzard here in the northeast has afforded me some time in between sholevling to do some more work. Also before my Anovos kit arrives next week. Had to cover up the hole on the top of the gun. Used some plastruct and bondo. Made the rear post of the bi-pod. This let me finish placing the t-tracks. Once the t-tracks dry I will put the wires around them. I was looking for something a bit thicker. I ended up using some old coax cable. Will place them after the t- track glue is dry. 15. Hopefully soon buddy. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  16. Ordered 4/19....Got email from FedEx around 11:30 last night. Should be here Wednesday depending on the blizzard here in NY. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  17. Waiting for mine to ship....But the photos and videos make me very excited for the quality. Especialy at $350...I also got the shadow at the tier 1 price. Fun times ahead! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  18. Yes and no. Looking at some more pictures it looked like the diagram was correct so I went with that. Yes I will definitely be adding the wires. I still need to do the rear bi-pod post so that I can place the last 2 t-tracks. Once those are in place I can add the wires. I can't wait until it's done and painted and I can show off the BFG!! Haha I did do some more work on it. I attached the butt stock the the gun. Used some dowels and green stuff modeling epoxy. This picture is a bit over exposed but shows the size upon completion. It definitely is a BFG! Some t-track detail... Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  19. I feel I am a bit scattered in the build. I guess it's because I have multiple things in process and I have to wait sometimes for the glue to dry. Anyways, here is some more process. I attached the middle sight to the tube with some E6000, will just need to use some bondo later to fill some imperfections, or I might leave it for a weathered look. I have also attached most of the t-tracks. Some need to be added after the rear bi-pod post. On the bi-pod foam greeblies I coated them with 3 coats of white glue to seal the foam and allow for better painting later. Finished the greeblie box that goes on top of the ammo box. The longer this takes me the more details I seem to want to add. Looking at the top of a DLT-19 right above the ammo box I see the gun has 3 "screws", a dip, another "screw", and comes to a point as seen in this picture. So I decided to give it a go. I am going to use three sheets of plastruct and some greeblies to get this look. Gluing the 3 pieces together. Also started some work on the bi-pod attacment piece. Cut a dowel and some foam to achieve the look of the original. I have had an unusual amount of time to work on it, hopefully it continues. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the kind words. You didn't like the music? Haha I can see some of the top T-tracks but the bottom ones are difficult to see. I will try to find some more pictures but thanks for helping.
  21. Question for anyone out there....I am trying to figure out the proper placement for the t-tracks. Does anyone have good reference pictures? The only thing I am finding is this: I would just like to see it in the barrel too. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  22. Here is a mini update compared to the last one. I wanted to work on what I think it's called the ammo box/feeder. With my build I know I can't get to 100% accuracy, but I want to keep the "look and feel" of the gun. So this is what I was trying to replicate: I made a rectangle box out of some wood and on top of that I am using some plastruct to replicate the other greeblie. This is all just guesses on my part from the pictures that I have been able to see. I still need to sand the pieces together and add the "cuts" in the front piece as seen in the reference pictures. Thanks for looking. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks it took some time haha Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks guys. I was just going to use a wood dowel for the charging handle, but I am going to look for a knurled tube probably from a flashlight. Your handle sounds amazing. Very ingenious. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  25. BIG UPDATE! Was able to get back to building after the holidays. This is from the last two weekends. So I started to work on the bi-pod. I am using the shelf mounts. I cut them to size, cut off the ends, and glued them back together. Then I filled in the holes in the "feet" end. Tried tidying up the sections that were glued together. To give it more of the true bi-pod look I used Astyanax's trick with the 6 mm foam for some greeblies. Next I used some 2 mm foam to make some of the barrel more accurate. Also did some work on the gun/cocking handle. Trimmed the gun down where there was a bump and used some plastruct to create the "slider" part of the cocking handle. Put a few greeblies for looks. Then I added the "spikes" to the bi-pod. This last part of the update is something that took a lot of time and different techniques. It was fun and I think it came out pretty good. Let me know what you think. (Also the hole on the side, should it be a hole or just part way drilled? I have seen it both ways.) Thanks for looking! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
