  4. Thanks. I agree with the arches, I will make them more of a half circle. I also threw some nuts on those bolts just in case, thanks for looking out. Looking at this reference picture the buttons don't appear that big: Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks guys. I will try a new battery. Sly that would be great to see the tutorial. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  6. Who has experienced an iComm battery dying? Trying to see if that's what's happening to me. I have had the unit a few months and about halfway through a three hour troop today it started to sound all weird. It's not as loud as before and my voice sounds garbled. The static burst also seems like it's slower and more drawn out. Anyone else experience this?
  7. So today I was able to "work" from home which gave me some time to work on the boxes. I started with the big radio box. I cut the outlines on the box out of plastruct. Once the glue dries I will use some bondo and fill in the lines where the pieces meet Next I started the top left "button" box. Started with some rubber furniture feet, I primed and painted them flat black. After that I cut out the underlying greeblie from plastruct and painted it with the silver fox gray. I then primed the box so I can later paint it black. After that I moved onto the box to the right if the radio box. I decided to slant it like the reference pictures. If I knew what a pain in the an impolite person it was going to be I would have just left it flat. I started by cutting the bottom and top of the box to match. But there was no way I was going to be able to make it perfectly match up. So I knew I would have to use bondo on the sides to make it look like 1 piece. But before doing that I needed to make sure I would be able to attach it to the pack later. So I drilled holes in the bottom and glued some bolts into it. I also drilled the corresponding holes in the pack. Lastly I started the greeblie for the box but ran out of time. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  8. Congrats! Looks like it was a blast! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  9. The chisels came out today. More work on the rear sight holder. Its really coming along. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks guys. Got them on eBay. I think I will go with option 2. It will fit the cup thing at the bottom better. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  11. OK my last 2 boxes came in today. So here is my question, which looks better option 1 or 2? I think 2 look better to me. Option 1 Option 2 Next up I will start the greeblies that go on the boxes, just need to get some spray paint. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  12. Latex hand guards are only a Centurion requirement.
  13. No I get that. The link you posted was to mondo posters not anything to do with chatter. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  14. Made a bit more progress on the rear sight holder. Carved out some of the shape. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  15. I believe you linked the wrong post Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  16. Next up is what I will call the rear sight holder, the piece at the end of the barrel that holds the rear sight. Couldn't find a piece big enough for the entire piece so we glued 3 pieces together and planed it smooth. Next we drilled out the center to fit the barrel and traced what needs to be cut to shape. 17. Wish it were that easy for me lol Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  18. Good looking build! Overall nicely done. Just a few things I see. The holster should be attached on the inside of the belt, not the outside. It looks like there can still be some return edge on the front of the forearms taken off. The screws on the TD should be painted black. Also your thighs might be a tad too long, especially in the back where it looks like the left one is overlapping the butt piece. Lastly you might want to put some foam at the top of your shin near the sniper plate so that it doesn't get stuck behind your thigh. I hope I did not come off harsh, just a few suggestions to get the armor to it's highest level. Great job on the armor, I would be proud to troop next to you. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. Looking good Stuart! Shouldn't have much trouble. Only a few things I think could help. Your left shin is twisted in the pictures so it throws the back of it off, and your hovi tip picture is not there (you labeled it but put the wrong one there). I don't think these will hold up approval. Great job on the build! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah I think I will do that too with a speaker in the radio box. Still figuring it all out. Still deciding, but I think I will ultimately cut it at an angle. I got the boxes from eBay. I just looked for some that were around the sizes I needed. I know its not cannon/acceptable but I am thinking of adding LEDs to the "discs' on the radio box. I am still looking for the proper discs, but I think I can come up with a way to cover the LEDs for approval. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  21. 2 of my 4 boxes have come in, the radio box and the one to the right of that. Still debating if I should "angle" that right box like I see in some if the video game references. What's the consensus on that? I will be using some plastruct that I have left over from other projects to make the details like the vents, the radio box details, etc. I still to make a trip to the dollar store to get the rest if the pieces to complete it, but it moving in the right direction. 22. Very touching story. That's what it's all about, troopers helping troopers.
  23. I know you said you didn't want foam, but it really is the easiest solution. A couple pieces placed strategically and it won't spin anymore. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  24. Looked for some spare wood to use as the rear sight housing. Couldn't find any large enough so I glued 3 pieces together that will then be drilled out and sculpted for look. Getting close. Just a few more pieces to build, then add a few details before painting. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
