  1. Theo ist richtig. Die Taste AB Farben sind nur dekorativ, und nichts bedeuten .
  2. Doopydoos takes longer to get, but at half the price.
  3. For your blaster, you can go several ways... All have their advantages, so it's a matter of what you are looking for, Jared. Resin blasters, like Doopydoos, can be bought a a kit which you put together yourself. The thing I like about these is that you can mod it like crazy for accuracy, especially using Tino's (T-Jay) finishing kit. They do tend to be breakable if dropped, but can usually be fixed fairly easily. Hyperfirms are GREAT for trooping... you can bounce one down the stairs and not worry. They lose just a bit in accuracy, but can get you to EIB and Centurion levels. There are also 3-D printed models popping up. I know little about these, so I cannot say much on them. They may be fairly brittle, but perhaps someone that owns one can offer some info. Last but not least are Hasbro conversions. Basically it's the toy one you can buy, and then there are kits to upgrade it for basic approval. These type of conversions are not allowed for the higher levels, though, which I hope you will be aiming for on your TK build. (It's not as hard as you think)!
  4. I worked on several Anovos kits a few weeks ago, John, and to be honest, I was not that impressed with their strapping system. Velcro is fine and dandy for many things, but for holding a set of armor together I just wouldn't trust it. I have seen pieces fall off during troops (embarrassing), so if you are planning on using it frequently I would go with the snap or bracket system. Let's get you approved so you can start trooping with us in the Makaze Squad!
  5. Looks great, John! If you are still in the process of building your kit, we are having an armor party this Sunday in Clermont at the TK Sweatshop from noon until LATE. If you need any info, just PM me.
  6. That armor is using the "overlap" method for joints, Bianca. To make it tighter (which it really needs.. it it WAY too loose) you will need to use the butt joint and cover strip method. Check out Tony's (ukswrath) section of his Anovos build thread for some perfect examples of how this is done. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/page-17#entry464966
  7. Normale TKs nicht tragen Schulterstücke ... HWTs ( Schwere Waffen Trooper ) und Sandtroopers Regel sie tragen. Einige der ersten Ordnung TKs tragen sie als gut, ist das, was du gemeint?
  8. These are up for sale now... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35702-latex-hand-guards-for-centurion-level-anh/
  9. The only problem with silicone is that it is difficult to find anything that will adhere to it, making it difficult to attach to the gloves. Epoxy may work, but it becomes brittle when dry.
  10. I would leave as much as you can (and still be comfortable) on the bottoms of the thighs, for strength if nothing else. Definitely the bottoms of the shins and the wrists, like Brian said.
  11. I have all the return edges trimmed off of the top of my thighs, Phil. If you leave them on, they can cause serious chafing. There is nothing in the CRLs that states you have to have them, and they are not required for basic, EIB or Centurion levels.
  12. Before you do any more trimming or sanding, I would (carefully) super glue a small piece of scrap ABS on the inside of the return edge for strength, Matt. At that point, you can use a Dremel type tool or half round file to smooth out the edges before finishing it off. I wouldn't worry too much about filling the cut, as it is small and won't actually show because it is underneath. If you do decide to fill it, you can make up some ABS paste. If you need help doing this, just PM me for more info. Side note: I noticed you are using safety gloves... good idea! (Trust me, LOL)
  13. Good call by Mark there, Kieren. Here is an ab plate detail photo of one of the best AP builds I have seen. James (JDTrooper) did an AWESOME job on this!!
  14. I used four 1 inch wide thread drywall screws, Michael, and also used small washers, as the plastic on the pack (oil pan) is pretty thin. Mine has gone through quite a bit of being banged around (battle scars) and had held up great!
  15. I received approval (from the top) today to start selling my "screen accurate" latex hand guards. These have been inspected, and will pass at Centurion level. I will need a week or so to get a supply made, and they will be selling for $27.00 per pair, including shipping in the U.S. Will post a thread as soon as they are ready to start selling.
  16. Good eye, Tahitoa! I forgot to mention the ab-buttons after the grey paint, and will change that now, Thanks!
  17. Looking good, Phil! Like Daniel said, I would go to sandpaper or a needle file from this point. If you need any info. on making the ABS paste to fill in those holes, just let me know. Great job on trimming out the eyes!
  18. I have one of Gaz' holsters. Built like a tank!
  19. Can you post a pic of it completely closed?
  20. The ebay one is trash, Charlene. You can't go wrong with the Darman holsters Clint gave you the link to. His neck seals also rock!
  21. Some GREAT info. there for all the Anovos builders, Clint. Thanks for the post!
