They are famous for not communicating, but they do deliver. Took me 7 weeks and a threat from Paypal to get any communication out of them, but the product is great!

I have a set of Randy's brass binders and Darman's holster as well, and they are AWESOME! Great craftsmanship, and a blast to use. I don't think anyone would actually try to get away from you while you are carrying that T-21 though, Christina!

Anovos belt, removing holster screws?
justjoseph63 replied to BlayneFitz's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Well said, Rob. Why they chose to not reinforce the belt is beyond me, as it sags and bunches something awful, and with any sort of repairs I seriously don't think it may be approved at the highest level. Considering the fact that Anovos supplied the holster, (actually a quite nice one), shelling out some extra money for a quality belt seems the way to go. -
You might want to try signing up with the Texas Garrison, http://www.stargarrison.com/gateway/main.php andchecking out the posts there. There are 5 Squads in the Lone Star state, so chances are they may be having one near you!

Fusing butt and kidney help?
justjoseph63 replied to Algie44's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
You may have to use the boiling water technique to bend it and help it conform to the shape of the butt/kidney, Algie, but I would stick with the ABS. -
Do you guys custom mark your weapons?
justjoseph63 replied to Dekard's topic in General Weapons Discussion
Some great replies and sage advice there, Jeremy, but I don't think you have anything to worry about, though... I have trooped with my E-11, DLT-19, and T-21, and never had a problem misplacing or being worried about losing them. We are a pretty tight knit community, and unless you leave it lying around where the public can have access to it, you can guarantee it it won't disappear. (I have only had to lock my bin once, because it was in an "unsecured area"). I trust my brothers-(and sisters)-in-arms... It's how we roll. -
Paint preference and tips
justjoseph63 replied to Zechariah's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Hi Zachariah! I am assuming that you mean the grey, blue and black paints for the tears, frown, and ears. There are 2 main companies that supply them, Humbrol and Testors, and they can be found at any craft store that carries models, also Michaels. For a complete list of the colors you will need, check here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/ -

Pyrates AP Kidney Notch Modification

Wow! Really nice fix on that, Aaron, and most creative! This should help a lot of folks out, and thanks for sharing!!! Looking forward to your EIB submission thread (and then Centurion) soon after you get your basic approval. Great job! -
Speaking from personal experience, (and it's been a few years), I found that the most popular toppings in Japan were eel and squid. In the north of England it was pepperoni and tomato.

Does anybody have an anovos discount code?
justjoseph63 replied to greyfox's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Sorry to join this so late, but is this the code for the $350.00 kit? If so, anyone willing to share it? Thanks! -
Greg has done a spectacular job on his helmets, as well as the rest of his FO armor. His eye for detail knows no bounds! I will be trooping with him this Saturday, and am looking forward to seeing his debut in person. Looking forward to your build thread, Isaac!

As long as the off-the-shelf boots meet all the requirements, they are fine, and like Kalani mentioned, they can save you some money (but not necessarily time and effort to get them to those levels, except for the Funtasma of course. For long term wear and tear and lots of trooping, TKboots and Imperial Boots can't be beat. If you go with them, I would suggest ordering a half or full size larger to put gel insoles in for comfort.

Trying to find a place to submit photos
justjoseph63 replied to meekerscott's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Nice job, Scott!! Looks like you are aiming for EIB and then Centurion, (awesome)! It looks as if you used the elastic supplied by Anovos for a few of the connections around the kidney, which is causing gaps between the kidney-back, (picture 8) and misalignment on the kidney ab when you raise your arms, (see photos). You might want to think about replacing these areas with nylon, which doesn't stretch, and will keep them in place and prevent this. Good luck on your basic approval, and then next up, EIB! -------------- -
There are a couple of reasons I (and many others) use nylon strapping in many places, Eric. First, it holds some pieces in place better, keeping them from shifting or having a gap, especially the areas right around the kidney plate. If you are (hopefully) aiming for EIB and then Centurion, those gaps are not something you want. Don't get me wrong, elastic is a great thing! In areas like the shoulder connection, bicep to forearm, shoulder bell to bicep areas, you need a lot of movement, so I definitely use the elastic there. The reason I use elastic at a minimum is that the snaps can (and will) tear out of it over time in some areas from the repeated stress of attaching and un-attatching them, depending on how much you troop. Doubling or tripling them over at the ends before installing the snaps will make them last much longer, though
-
I actually think you are on the right track with your upgrades, Marc. Re-doing the strapping system alone was a big improvement! I realize that you may have to wait for a new bucket, but you are doing a great job with that armor so far, and I am glad to hear that you are going to continue with it. You'd be surprised how some people mod things FAR beyond what others think "can't be done". I saw a Hasbro E-11 mod on here recently that looks better than my Doopydoos resin build! It just takes time and patience, so hang in there, sir... I have faith in you! Illegitemi non carborundum"!
