Critique please on my helmet gaps
justjoseph63 replied to bartonajb's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
GREAT to hear that you are aiming for EI and Centurion, Andrew! A build thread is always a good idea, but please don't be shy about asking questions. It's kinda' what we do here. During your research you should also check out some of the approved Centurion submissions in this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/. They will be the ones with a number right after, like TK12345 Requesting ANH Stunt status, Anovos, (555). If I could offer some advice at this point it would be to sand down the heads of those screws and paint them before permanently installing them. This improves paint adhesion and any touch-ups can be done afterward. Best of luck on your build, sir! -
You have a few issues there, Asa, but nothing that can't be fixed. The sniper (left) knee should definitely be brought in as in photo 1. The way to do this is to remove all the return edge from the bottom of the knee plate itself. If you could post a close-up photo showing the underside connection that would be helpful. You are correct about the biceps. Again, a fairly easy fix. You will need to disassemble them (hopefully you used E-6000) and reduce the circumference. It may be me, but the thighs look a bit wide at the bottom. Not a super easy fix, but doable with an hour or so of work. This may be what is causing the sniper knee plate to get stuck behind it, as in your last photo. GREAT to hear that you are aiming for EI and Centurion! Here are a few things that will help: 1. Raise the belt to where the top overlaps the ab-button panel a bit, (photo 2). 2. Bring the shoulder bells in to where the tops touch the shoulder bridges. (Easy). A really nice job on your overall build, brother. Just a few tweaks here and there and we should see your EI application soon after! If you need any assistance with any of these fixes, just ask... we are here to help! Photo 1 Photo 2

A recast for sure, but also notice that there are absolutely NO return edges anywhere. Best to get a refund and go for a full (with helmet) kit like AM 2.0, ATA or the like. Not that much more money, and a MUCH better kit.

Sha Sha's WTF ANH Stunt Build [Complete]
justjoseph63 replied to shashachu's topic in ANH Build Threads
Perfect alignment on that belt, Sha Sha! I know it was a pain in the butt (plate), but the extra effort was well worth it. Also, GREAT job on that ABS belt trimming! Lots of folks leave a bit too much on the top and bottom, but you nailed it. We lost a LOT of awesome build threads here because of the Photobucket fiasco, and I am glad to see we have one that goes into so much detail. Keep up the fantastic work!! -
Way to go, Sergio, and welcome to the ranks of the HWTs! There is nothing you need to do at this point here on the FISD, but you could update your avatar pic with a shot of you in your "dirty" armor... ----------

Looking SHARP, Rob! A couple of things that will help are to take all the return edge from the bump on the forearm opening (see photo). Also, it looks as if your left calf wants to twist outward, (a very common problem). To fix that just Velcro a piece of 1 x 1 x 8 inch foam along the inside cover strip. Bada bing... done! I would say you are ready to send in your submission fr basic approval if you haven't done so... then onto the higher levels!!! (Cool hand guards, BTW)

LOVE that photo, Glen. Did you notice the only ones NOT wearing a pauldron are the two "HWTS"(?) at the top right? -

NO MUD! No offense, but we aren't Sandies, LOL. I'm gonna send you the supplies to make that armor look like it's supposed to. -
Qui est dans les alentours de Montréal ?
justjoseph63 replied to Spycee's topic in Section Française

SERGIOOOOOO! You did it, brother, and congrats on your basic approval!! No matter how many troops you do, your first one will always stick in your memory. Great to hear that you have hooked up with your fellow Everglades Squad unit and that they have been a big help. David A. (one of out Imperial Attaches for the ES) is also signed up for that troop, and I am going to have him get in touch with you to help out. Here is a thread that may help: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39382-your-first-troop-a-few-tips/ (As Tony mentioned, you really need to give that HWT armor some "dirty love".... -
I've messed up the split rivet placement
justjoseph63 replied to Guroburov's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Just as Tony mentioned, a photo would be really helpful, Steve. If you drilled the holes in the wrong place, no biggie... (honestly). As Shane said, you can whip up a small batch of ABS paste to fill them if they are really out of place and drill the new ones where they belong. Below is a Billhag diagram of some screen used armor that may help, and if you need any questions about making the paste, Kalani has a great tutorial here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/?tab=comments#comment-574086 -
Agreed 100%. Rivets are great, but once they are in it can be really difficult to remove them if things go sideways. With screws, they can be adjusted as needed.

Looking SHARP, Rob!! You should have no problems getting basic approval, but per our conversations I know you are headed for Centurion! Great job on this kit, brother, but if you could post up a few photos of the following it would really help us tighten this build up a bit and get you ready for your EI submission after basic: 1. Side views, arms raised, with a closeup of the ab/kidney connection. 2. Sniper knee plate/calf connection. 3. Wrist opening(s). 4. Hovi mic tip closeup. 5. Full back view. In the meantime, 2 easy fixes would be to bring the shoulder bells in to where the tops touch the shoulder bars (just shorten the straps) and raise the belt about half an inch. Looking forward to seeing you at level 2 (and then 3) and having another sharp dressed Trooper in the FL. Garrison!! Once you get approved, I would like to invite you over to Makaze Squad territory to participate in one of our many events.

Request your Centurion Certificate here:
justjoseph63 replied to justjoseph63's topic in Request Centurion Status
2 quick things, Michael.. Due to the white background of your post above I could not add the certificate link, so it is located below. Also, if your Centurion badge does not appear below your name within 24 hours of so please contact Andrew and he can sort that out. Thanks! http://www.whitearmor.net/eib/certificates/50601-centurion.png -
Gluing cover strips to the inside increases the strength of the seam. This is especially important in areas like the calf, which get opened and closed a lot while putting the armor on. When assembling a set of armor, you cut down the pieces to fit your particular frame/build. Many of the build threads available here show this being done. Here is a link to Tony's (ukswrath) Anovos build which may help explain a bit more. (It is lengthy, so have patience). https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/ This link may come in helpful when you do order your kit: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/

Bienvenido, Gustavo!

True, but RS's quality, screen accuracy, and customer service are leaps and bounds above Anovos'. Anovos does not supply spare parts if needed and their customer service/delivery times are sketchy at best.

My pleasure, brother! There are lots of us who have built our own E-11s, and that reference was invaluable. Hyperfirms are great, no doubt, but there is just something about an a well built E-11 that screams "accuracy" when built correctly. I was actually questioned by the police at a troop, who were wondering if it was "real". Quite the compliment.
